1. Sounds like Big Ned is routing Orangefield, unlike the past several years. If they improve the way they handle pressure they will have one heck of a season.
2. Dayton won by 2, I don't remember the score. Nederland had 2 chances to win/tie the game in the last 2 seconds but couldn't get one to work for them.

I thought Nederland would be decent with Forney getting more and more experience. Is the rest of the team not able to fully utilize him? =D How did the freshman game turn out?
forney is just out of shape right now. you can see it in him when he plays. and the freshman won79-38
No experience in the backcourt for Nederland.. Too many guys that cant handle any ball pressure at the varsity level. Forney can play with anybody in the area but they have to get the ball down the court first..  Just sayin  ;D
They are all sophomores and juniors aren't they? I don't remember too many of the ball handlers from last year that didn't graduate.

5. Games like this are always a reality check for teams like Nederland. The kids need to learn how much practice and execution means for less atheletic teams. And I believe this is why Coach English works hard to get games like this into the schedule. With that said, I don't think the game will be a high-scoring game. PA  58 Ned 38
6. great victory for Nederland. Finish the season out on wins and head into the playoffs strong!
7. Keep at them Dogs, you are only half way there. A win here could be a big momentum swing going into the playoffs. MUST PLAY ALL FOUR QUARTERS!
8. Actually... to hope they have 1 quarter like that per game is an improvement.
9. Great half! That's good Nederland basketball.... now only if they could play this every quarter for the rest of the season.
10. Nederland by 25. Hammond tears it up at PN-G. He'll probably put up 20+ tonight. Torres and Forney will dominate also. Nederland 77 PNG 52
11. Nederland needs PNG to lose, so I am pulling for the Jags in this one. However, if PNGs victory over Livingston was no fluke, then they could come up with a W in this one too. I'll still call Central by 12.
12. Nederland always has trouble against Vidor. I don't think they have beaten the Pirates since Coach English came to Nederland, am I correct? Hopefully they can pull this one out because they need it. If not they could be upset by PNG or LCM this year, taking a playoff spot away from them.
13. Both teams were excellent behind the arc. Nederland has to learn that they can't win every game that way, especially when the opposing team is shooting just as well. Also, Livingston is very athletic and their full court pressure really gave the Dogs some trouble. If anyone has a number of points of turnovers for the Lions, I'd like to see it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was above 30. Livingston wanted it more in the 2nd half which is why they won, but Nederland could have come out on top if they played the way they did in the first half. I think these two teams will be battling out for 3rd and 4th place in the district.
14. I think the game is up for grabs, either team could take it. It will depend on which team has an ON night.
15. Nederland dominated the entire game with outstanding defense. Good win for the dogs!
16. I really want PNG to upset them, but it probably won't happen. Livingston 60 PNG 45 (complete guess from seeing PNG play once, and hearing about the Ozen @ Livingston game)
17. It will be too close since Nederland will most likely not be hitting threes like they did against PNG. They will need to find another way to win this game. I will still take Nederland by 8. (I think they will pull away from about a 2 point lead in the last couple of minutes) Nederland 58 LCM 50
18. Nederland will control the outcome. As I see it, they have 2 options. They could play typical Nederland basketball and let PNG stay in the game in a close battle (which Nederland will still probably win, but who knows?), or they can play like they did in the YMBL tournament and blow PNG out in the first half, We'll see what happens on Tuesday.
19. No excuses, Nederland played terrible basketball tonight. Ozen started out way too strong for Nederland to handle, and they were out-rebounded pretty badly. Once Ozen had a comfortable lead, they didn't allow Nederland to sit back and play a zone defense, which is a big disadvantage for Nederland. Ozen pretty much pulled away after a comfortable 15 point lead or so. I was way off, calling this one by less than double digits... Hopefully...HOPEFULLY... it will be a different team when it is Ozen At Nederland in a few weeks.
20. Probably with a victory over Lumberton. Lumberton has shown improvement, but I don't think it is enough to be realistically competitive this season. I would like for them to prove me wrong though, it would definitely make this district really interesting.
