Ty Cobb

Silsbee just lost one hell of a baseball coach.  Coach Trawhon did a wonderful job turning that program around and brought respect to Silsbee baseball.  Here are just a few of his accomplishments: 2006 District championship Coach of the year #5 state ranked team in 3A   Snapped Bridge City's district winning streak. 100 wins in a little over 6 seasons. at least 4 of his players went on to play college baseball. (Brandon Chambers, Rocky Calhoun, Joel Schooling, Blake Moss) Raised enough money to make the following improvements to the baseball field: Covered batting facility Built a bullpen Brick wall behind home plate Metal fence in the outfield Rebuilt the home dugout New scoreboard Planter boxes and palm trees One of the nicest playing surfaces in the area. Silsbee baseball will miss Coach Trawhon!!!

Got any updates on Blake and his injury?  How did the playoffs go?

Speed kills and it did in this fight.  Mayweather was just too fast for Mosley.  I didn't realize there would be that much of a difference in hand speed between these two fighters.  Mayweather dominated rounds 3-12.  The fight couldn't end fast enough for Mosley!!!

[/quote] That's a horrible 9 game stretch to go through.  The yankees and red sox are contenders every year and the RANGERS couldn't beat the tigers last year to save their lives.  Anywhere around .500 would be awesome for this part of the schedule.

Someone explain what happened in this game.  All that has been said is that a player was talking trash.  Trash talk goes on in every sport on almost every level.  I don't see a problem with it.  Some of the best athletes in sports were also some of the best trash talkers.  See Michael Jordan vs the Knicks or Reggie Miller vs the Knicks.

Blake is catching?  I know he can play 2nd and 3rd but didn't know he was a catcher.  Good to see Blake doing well.

The Silsbee Tigers win over Kirbyville Friday night was win number 100 for Coach Todd Trawhon.  This is a big accomplishment for Coach Trawhon and all of those young men that have played in his program over the years.  Congratulations coach!!!

Dayton 9 HJ 4

Keep an eye on Hardin-Jefferson freshman, Dillon Duplant.

HJ and C. E. King played to a 2-2 tie in 6 innings.  Freshman Dillon Duplant pitched 4 and struck out 9.  Also contributed with a solo HR.  HJ opens at Kirbyville on Monday.

Congrats Jeremy!  I still wish you were playing college ball in the state of Texas, but I understand your decision.  Good luck young man and take care of yourself.
