  1. Boutte never made his teams cower in a huddle along the sidelines. He spread his guys out with a lead because he knew his ballhandlers were better than the other team's defenders. Apples and oranges.
  2. Yes, any rational fan would be embarrassed if their coach pulled that stunt.
  3. Apologies if this was mentioned somewhere earlier in the season, but why is this district going with a Wed/Sat schedule?
  4. I'm an accountant - being a keyboard warrior is kind of a requirement in my line of work.
  5. He sure wouldn't have looked like a coward to the whole world and embarrassed his school district if they lost under those circumstances.
  6. Ditto, this was truly shocking to see on video. I totally understand playing stall-ball using 4-corners or another similar type of offense, but this is straight up cowardly. Lumberton's coach probably isn't embarrassed using these tactics based on what I've read about him on here, but he definitely should be.
  7. That is just simply not true. I had dozens of classmates in the accounting program land really good jobs all across the state after graduation, and I know companies from all across the world come to Lamar to recruit students in the engineering program.
  8. You're always going to be let down if you're comparing yourself to the Joneses. FYI Sam's medical school is closer to Houston than it is to their main campus. Thats like Lamar opening a medical school in Anahuac. I can't argue with you about Lamar needing better leadership in athletics though.
  9. I'd really like to hear your suggestions on how Lamar should go about getting a medical or law school. Also, why would they want to expand a stadium that already has plenty of empty seats on gameday?
  10. you would make a heck of a filibusterer in congress
  11. Bingo - this is an extremely savvy PR move.
  12. I think this is theoretically a great move for PNG, but its hard to understand based on what everyone is saying on here. This move just doesn't make a lot of sense if there are really only two candidates being considered, both of whom are experienced and know the area. I could see this hire being very helpful if it was a truly objective hiring process where they want to hire a less-experienced coach thats new to the area. Message board rumors are never wrong though so we'll see.
  13. Its a rarity these days to see parents have this kind of self-awareness regarding their parenting - major props to you.
  14. I hear what you're saying, but new coach or not, he should have put an end to the daddy ball and chemistry issues before the season started. A lot of hours are put in together those first couple months of the school year before real practice starts. Maybe he is too nice of a guy.
  15. I know you don't honestly believe that every single high school football coach has REALISTIC expectations of winning state before the season starts.
  16. UL must have some good negotiators on their side (or a lot of dirt) because Mack's original buyout was $12 million.
  17. Yeah this all comes back to the coach IMO. Any coach worth his salt would have these issues (both with his team and their parents) straightened out before district play in one way or another.
  18. If the Chase Adams on the applicant list is who I think he is, then that would make it three applicants with WOS ties (assuming Foreman and Hickman are the two you're thinking of). Either way, your point stands that the applicant list is a big head-scratcher.
  19. I can't wait to see how the "facts don't care about your feelings" crowd tries to spin these facts.
  20. Hasn't happened yet - I believe they started the process of selecting which turf to install last week.
  21. Weren't administrative issues one of the big reasons he left West Brook? I could be naïve but I just don't see him taking another job where he would have to deal with a toxic administrative culture and Daddy Ball issues.
  22. I played against J'Covan in summer ball and remember he would put up 30+ points without breaking a sweat - most effortless (in a good way) offensive player I've ever seen at the hs level. He was born to get buckets.
  23. We are very lucky to have him be the leader of our city - tremendous guy
  24. Yes that is very interesting. Was Coach Smith already on Silbee's coaching staff before he got the head job or was he an outsider?
  25. Bingo on all of these - I would only add that the O-line needs to be bolstered, which is kind of implied in your 3rd point. This team has enough talent to win a couple playoff games, but they are just an undisciplined mess and that starts with head coach.
