  1. Warriors in 7, only because they have home court. This series is a coin-flip for me.
  2. Thanks for this info, I was wondering what the process for clearing teachers to carry was like. I’m guessing the school district doesn’t pay for the firearm or the training, since most school districts make teachers pay for almost everything else job-related out of pocket?
  3. Interesting. Hopefully the DPS disciplines Sgt. Estrada for "confirming" those false reports. I've seen plenty of law enforcement spokesmen say things like "we will not comment on the specifics of today's events until our investigation is concluded" at press conferences that follow shootings, etc. Why do you think that wasn't the case in Uvalde?
  4. Those Aggie jerseys are fantastic.
  5. Couldn't overcome Luka's awful first half and Brunson's overall dud. I would have been ecstatic if you told me that the Mavs make it to the WCF (especially without Porzingis and THJ) before the season though. That was a heck of a run that exceeded everyone's expectations.
  6. I wonder why DPS Sargent Estrada told the media differently yesterday if it wasn't true.
  7. Totally understand your points and appreciate your real world examples/service. Sgt. Estrada with the DPS said the shooter was “engaged” by law enforcement outside of the school. Once again, I’m not well versed in the technicalities of this stuff, so there’s a good chance that “engaged” doesn’t mean what I think it means in this sense.
  8. I am far from an expert in law enforcement or active shooter safety protocols, but common sense tells me that rule #1 should be for the officers to stop a potential threat from entering the school at all costs if they are in position to do so. All the accounts I've read say that the officers engaged with the shooter outside of the school, but he was somehow still able to go inside and kill all those kids after the confrontation.
  9. My grandpa's deer lease was in Uvalde, and I have vivid memories of him bitching about Oasis' deer corn prices when he would forget to pick some up at Buc-cees on the way in lol.
  10. In this case it seems like the police employed by Uvalde ISD completely forgot their training. I'm having a very difficult time figuring out how the shooter was able to step foot inside the school if he was confronted by multiple members of law enforcement.
  11. The baseball gods are not going to look favorably on that lol
  12. The work should begin next week, according to a note Dr. Brister sent out to district employees.
  13. Celtics vs. Warriors would be a VERY fun matchup in the Finals. I just don't see any of the remaining teams beating Boston in a 7 game series.
  14. What were the pitching matchups (ace vs. ace, #2 vs. #3, etc.)?
  15. Shams just reported that Al was cleared to play tonight.
  16. Absolutely blew the Mavs' brakes off in the third quarter. They weren't ready for the Warriors' frantic pace after playing two slower teams in the Jazz and Suns.
  17. He definitely wasn't locked in tonight, and the rest of the team followed suit. Everybody was awful tonight. Only silver lining for me is at least we knew the game was over early, because I hate losing nailbiters lol.
  18. Woj said Big Al probably won't play until the series goes back to Boston. Normally I would argue that Miami is also missing a key player in Lowry, but I just don't think he has a lot left in the tank to really affect a playoff series right now even when healthy.
  19. NBA twitter is a complete cesspool lol can't take anything seriously on there.
  20. Totally agree with this and with Buddy's statement about Ayton making Dallas' defense better. I'm surprised Dallas' lack of rim protection hasn't been exploited yet in the playoffs, but I'm sure Kerr will scheme something up to take advantage of it in this round. I just don't think that Ayton will be in their price range if he makes it to free agency. The Mavs have some tough choices to make this summer (and not a lot of cap flexibility) about adding a solid big man and keeping Brunson. Gun to my head I think I'd rather re-sign Brunson because having a solid secondary ball-handler/playmaker next to Luka will be key to their long term success. Solid big men that are lob threats and paint defenders can be had for a fraction of the price of offensive creators.
  21. Thats why I wrote what I did in the parentheses lol
  22. I actually don't think there are very many rational people that would argue this (besides Celtics/Tatum and Warriors/Curry fans).
