    Easy prediction:
Whoever it is will be THE worst hire in TX HS football history, according to the eternal worst-wishers here.

Yes Buttigieg was strictly a gay DEI hire. The dude was only a mayor before. No more than 10,000+ other mayors across the US. If Buttigieg was not gay he would have never been in that role.

I sure hope they do. They do an excellent job running the ISD but they dropped the ball letting Abseck depart.
Mistakes are not fatal, unless you fail to learn from them. My guess is that eyes are being opened and a lesson is being learned. That will benefit BH.

Spot on. None of the eternal BH haters here have a clue whats going to actually happen in the years to come. Their hate blinds them so much they just fantasize and wish the worst for BH every year.
BH may / may not go 6A next time around. Cutoffs rise every year.
BH may / may not be with NS etc. Districts are modified every year.
NS, etc. may / may not go to a 7A in 2 or 4 years.
6A may / may not have three divisions in the future.
If their worst wishes DON"T come through for BH, they will really come unhinged. Too much racial hate inside of them. Crazy thing is, BH football is more diverse than a handful of others in the area. Our team was way more diverse that Lufkin, PAM, BU, etc.

LOL. You have no clue. The guy probably made a killing selling his house in Cedar Park when it exploded, you don't have a first inkling of knowledge to know if he has a mortgage. On top of that, if he sells his house now in BH he will probably make another killing.  Obsession noted.

BHISD was successful & rated highly before he arrived, and will continue after he’s gone as long as the City Planners, Council, Mayor, Manager set criteria for new homes to start in the range they start now & above. That limits the people that can afford to live in the area & is a subtle—often forgotten/unknown—way of selectively keeping a community a certain economic/demographic level.
Well known that parents of better means have children that perform better scholastically.

BH will compete in 6A just like all of the other classes they have entered. I have watched BH since they were 2A and heard the same rhetoric each time they move up. BH will struggle as they enter 6A, but give them 5 years and as their enrollment grows to match the schools they are playing they will be competitive. I don’t think they could ever be North Shore or Summer Creek, but they were able to compete with Summer Creek and beat CEK when they were in the district with each other. You can’t look at the schools as they sit today BH will grow like they always have.

Dude, why do you care so much? BH will be fine. Don’t think they move up to 6A until 2028. A lot can happen between now and then. There’s nothing we can do besides stay positive and look forward to a new challenge. Numbers will dictate where we end. The rest is just hot air. Coaching replacement should be named soon.

Well, that would be a first for all! LOL
I would imagine Poole is very competative and its hard to imagine that the competitivness does not drive him to reach the highest results possible. Of course it can go too far and cause an unintended result. Lets give him and BH a chance to get the replacement secured, and then go from there. Otherwise lets give him some credit on the outstanding academic achievements BH is known for. Its not an accident. THAT is what ultimately matters the most. Life >>> Football.

It was the outside activist that took it. BH defended itself against the stupid racist attack, and BH won convincingly.

You and your cheerleader from PAM need to get a life. The hair is a rule at BH that has been there forever and has absolutely nothing to do with race. You and the rest of the uninformed can keep getting race baited all you want . BH is what Baytown wish they can be but never will.  We will get our coach it’s a process sit and wait. In the mean time try to keep GCISD from imploding we’re doing just fine.

I didn't know the eastside folks are so racist, and I make occasional NS and CEK games.
If thats really the truth, then THEY have bigger problems and anything BH has. Racism is ugly.

Me too. He did. I already miss Abseck. He was not perfect by any means (who is?) but he definitely had it going the right direction. Had he had anywhere near a full team not decimated by injuries he would likely gone farther than he did. Still beat TW's record though. BH never missed the playoffs.
Abseck will find a great landing spot, he should be one of the most desirable candidates available statewide. Meanwhile, the BH Admin needs to make a great hire soon. If it does not go well it will glare back at them. Big time.

OlDawg's point is salient, but I'll add some additional food for thought.
Put yourself in the shoes of a head coach. You want to build a winning program and you know you need to establish the right program culture to do that. You want to work at a school with a culture that's conducive to that kind of thing, run by an administration that supports it and a community that values it.
Do you want to work in a school system where an appreciable number of students is running around wearing animal masks, audibly barking, growling, meowing, and purring in classrooms, because they openly identify as a species other than human? With an administration that either finds that behavior acceptable or is too afraid of social media hysteria to squelch it, and an appreciable number of parents and faculty in the community who openly, vocally support it?
Do you think that kind of general social dynamic at the school you work for is compatible with the program culture you need to build to have sustained success on the field and, ultimately, mold successful, healthy, balanced, well-adjusted young men? More importantly, do you think that kind of culture lends itself to any kind of success at that school, academic, extracurricular, or otherwise? Do you think it promotes an effective learning environment, or that it more likely disrupts that environment with excessive and unnecessary distractions that ultimately make it harder for good teachers to teach and dedicated students to learn?
That's the behavior that's crept into--and become all too prolific in--the high schools in the Round Rock and Leander school districts the last few school years, and that's the dilemma that's come with it. I personally know teachers leaving for other districts or private schools, or leaving the profession altogether, because of it. And I've seen firsthand parents who feel like their kids are trapped in it.
Reread my post. I stated that "[o]n a spectrum that includes the PN-G, BH, Westlake, Southlake, and Cedar Park/Northwest Hills communities, the first four are all way closer to each other in terms of culture, values, history, and tradition than any of them are to the Highway 183 Province of the People’s Republic of Austin." I know for a fact this sort of thing isn't happening in Port Neches, Groves, Eanes, or Lakeway. I don't think it's happening in Southlake or Mont Belvieu, either. But it's definitely happening along the line between Travis County and Williamson County. That's where your political--and more importantly, social--dynamic comes into play.
And that's all that I had in mind when I made the simple comment that different dynamics exist between Barbers Hill and Cedar Park that birthed this line of conversation.

I never implied Livingston could be 3A. I was commenting on something I said earlier RE 3A, that also applies to 4A Livingston: There are low bars to step over.
Point is, it does not take too much to turn around a 3A or 4A program in SETX. Any real improvement will show up quickly. It contrasts with, for example, trying to grow a 6A program. Its hard to step over a North Shore, Atascocita, Summer Creek and Kingwood.

I will say this, BH has over achieved last couple of years. If you look at certain positions and the amount of injuries we’ve had to key players, I think Abseck did a great job. I know there were grumbling about the work hours for staff, but I would curious to see Abseck’s record at BH compared to the others. As far as the other stuff, rumors are rumors, and last I checked BH is still a great school district, and in great financial shape.

It is a great school district, with an awesome community.   One of the best districts to work in and have your kids attend (speaking from experience)
They do have a good all around athletic program (and have had for decades) - have not had a dominant football program, but very competitive kids.  Hopefully, he will hire a good coach and let him do his job understanding the transition to 6A is coming soon.  It is a good job with GREAT pay, but just like any other - has its own set of challenges.
