IMO, Faith Family shouldn't be playing 4A.
How does Faith Family work exactly? They can recruit?

I think HJ or HH could beat Yates this year
LCM plays HH Dec 21 then plays Yates Dec 22. It should be a good measurement.

Harvey is probably one of the top shooters in the area gotta give him his due. There’s a lot more to the game than shooting.
Not sure if I agree with this. I saw some of his summer ball. He expanded his game. Not sure if HH can beat the likes of HF but he is more than a shooter.

PAM won by at least 10 didn’t catch the final. Lumberton cut it to 1 in the 4th but PA hit some big 3 pointers. McClure for Lumberton didn’t play the entire 4th quarter, don’t know the reasoning behind that.
Not sure what the reason for McClure not playing the 4th. There has to be a good reason. Mitchell’s Magic will get Lumberton to where they need to be.

Huffman was the best team in a trash basketball district. Not taking away from the coach's accomplishments, but they don't play anyone even in pre-district games. Their record is always padded. This year they have yet to play anyone tough at all. HJ and HF both are playing top 5A and 6A schools who are traditional basketball powerhouses. Huffman not playing anyone on that level at all. When district comes around they will get smashed by HJ and HF period simply due to not playing tough games. HF has Memorial, Nederland, and Stafford as their measuring sticks. HJ has the same level of competition. Huffman's toughest game so far was New Caney that they won on by 1 point. I didn't even know New Caney had a legit program.
Lumberton is a pretty talented and well coached team as well. HF might have the next Boutte at the helm but that doesn’t mean other coaches are slouches.

My point was Cardinal making a very general statement about any team with a player scoring 50% or more of it's points is not a good team.
If he had stated a team in particular, then maybe I could understand.
He still stated that Silsbee was not a good team last year. I disagree.
Huffman seems like it is the areas most hated on team. I mean they aren’t as well coached as HF and Lumberton but I’m not sure they deserve the hate.

My Mustangs was not ready for that hostile environment and they did not get 9 techs. They got 3 and 2 were total BS. HF should have received just as many but officials didn't want to show up to breakfast at the local coffee shop doing that. The Stangs will get better but no doubt HF is the better team right now and will be hard to handle this season.
HF plays clean and disciplined basketball. What are you referring to for them deserving Techs?

But what happened in 1991?

HJ HF and Huffman will be an interesting fight for first.

The dunk count in LCM vs Silsbee might be in LCM's favor this year. I heard they have some high flyers.

I haven't seen any District predictions come out yet. Usually they release the one from TABC but without the clinic this year I am not sure predictions were made.
How do you think District 21-4A 22-4A 21-3A 22-3A 23-3A will shake out?

H-F returns basically their entire team plus two scorers. One was on JV and probably the best player in the school because of transfer rules and the other is transfering into the school. They will be really good, but not being early ranked is fair. They will be by mid season
Is this normal around the area? I can't remember when it was common to opening talk about transfers. Only time I have every heard of it is people talking about Yates.

Hamshire-Fannett is not in the district with Lumberton and LC-M.
My question about Fannett and Lumberton was about State Rankings. I transitioned to the Lumberton LCM district. Just wondering about the area in general as far as new players vs returners.

They lost 5 key guys from last years team, the young guys will have to pick up the slack, did Lumberton have a good freshman and JV group?
How many is Fannett returning? Lumberton seems like they will be really young. Will LCM be the experienced team in this district?

THe Raiders gonna make there way into the rankings sooner than later!!!
I am surprised that Fannett and Lumberton are not on there. Especially with the Raiders having a D1 kid.

As for Harvey, I agree with your assessment. We played against him a few weeks ago in Houston and he didn’t score a point. And I couldn’t have been more impressed. He’s strong with the ball, every pass is crisp, and he never takes a defensive possession off. Everyone knows he can shoot the ball but even in a game where he wasn’t getting a ton of looks and the ball wasn’t falling when he did, he still positively impacted the game. Those are the ones I really enjoy watching.
Kid plays as hard on Defense as offense. I am shocked he is outside the top 30.
