I'll take Jasper....that team has that old Jasper "swagger" back, something that's been missing since the Coach W's days.... Good Luck to both teams...

Like I said...it's all about the priorities of each school district and what their taxpayers are willing to support...and right now in this economy I don't think you will see too many schools, that don't have a lot of industry, population growth or a bond that has already passed, build or add on to their sports facilities...especially to accommodate visiting schools and their supporter's demands...So instead of a new High School to educate their students they should have used all their bond money to build a state of the art football stadium so all Lumberton and PNG fans could have a seat at a football game????? No dog in this hunt but looking at it from the outside you guys are sounding a little too uppity......Not every district has the petrochemical industry or a surging population growth to rely on for additional funding for "extras"..... I am sure the folks in Livingston would like better football facilities (and they eventually will) but it should not be their top priority... Just one person's opinion...
I wouldn't say we are being uppity, considering our stadium was built to it's original size in 1978 and then what maybe 6 or 8 years ago we spent bajillions to expand one set of bleachers to raise the stadiums capacity from about 7500 to 10,000. Livingston doesn't necessarily need to build a new stadium, just add more seating. If you take a ride up to Dallas across Hwy 175, you'll see smaller schools than Livingston way out in the middle of nowhere with better seating than you guys have. Sorry but it's the truth.

Be careful with your use of "Everbody".. Only a couple of posters blamed the loss on the injury... Most were very complimentary to Shepherd for their win....It's clear you've got nothing for Hardin and it shows in your post...I've got no ties to Shepard or Hardin...just like to see teams that traditionally have not had success have a chance to experience winning.. Hardin has had a good run the last 3 years after many down years... and Shepherd looks good this year.Good Luck to Shepherd, Hardin and to the school you root for.Cowboy... you are an idiot...!!! Everyone in Hardin knows that Shepherd beat Hardin fair and square. They beat them physically, they beat them mentally, and they beat them athletically.
No one from Hardin is making excuses about that game. Get over yourself and celebrate the fact that Shepherd has gotten a good Coach and has started to turn the program. You moron, don't embarrass the people of Shepherd with your idiocracy...!!!
Last time I checked, everybody in Hardin blamed Villemez's injury as the downfall in that game (excuse...I think it is.) Everybody from Hardin was justifying last week's performance by stating how good Shepherd has gotten when nothing to very little has been stated about Shepherd's team on any posts (up to last week.) Another thing...the excessive stroking of the coaching staff's ego has gotten "out of hand." Beating Trinity is not something I would consider as a high mark of coaching excellence. Hardin has a stud in Villemez and not much after that.
Finally, no disrespect is intended to the players of any program...just the idiots that place Hardin on a pedestal of a great program for years running when (like most programs) have strokes of good luck as far as athletes are concerned.

IMO how could it not be Hooks or Barbay?? They have both won state titles (something we all want) and have had several players gone on to achieve success at the next level... If you are playing in 3A who do you have to go through each year....WOS. If your in 2A who do you have to go through each year....Newton. I do think the JA at Kirbyville is knocking on the door and Credeur (spelling??) have done a heck of a job as well....Just one person's opinion...

I have the teams in the same order....its hard to watch all the games but from what i hear about each game..i think anahuac is also the front runner of the district..
1) Anahuac
2) Hardin
3) EC
4) Buna
5) Kountze
6) Deweyville
7) Warren
Like i said I dont get to watch all the games so this is my predictions based on what i hear.
-
After 3 games IMO:
1st (a) A-Town
1st ( Hardin
3rd EC
4th Buna
5th Kountze
6th Deweyville
7th Warren
Hard to pick a clear cut 1st because the Panthers played a church school this week and Hardin played a salty 3A Shepherd. Of course all of this can & will change depending on injuries....

Newton in a good game...
