  1. Welcome aboard NEagles95. Keep us posted on all the football news from fig town.
  2. Watched this game.and boy am I impressed with the team speed of TCU. Patterson has some burners. I didn't get to see Darwins TD, the time ran out on my recording. Blasted thing. I did get to see a replay of it. I'm sure proud of this young man. He has a great future ahead of him. Also I noticed that TCU has some doggone good Freshmen. That cornerback that played for an injured guy looked stout.
  3. I had the same concern at the first of the year. After the Kirbyville game, I'm ok with the defense. What Ole Moe said worries me. Last night Jon Meek (I think he was doing the play by play) said Nate Williams was doing exceptionally well at throwing on the run, but if nobody can catch it you are a one demensional team. I was sure hoping they would find some pass catchers this year. We will see.
  4. You are right on all points. I hope they find a kid who can catch. I'm dying to find out if T Browns younger brother will make the varsity this year. By the way I saw T Browns name on TJC's roster, but failed to find Noah Williams or Caiden Walker. Does anybody out there know where those two are? Noah was on last year but not this year. I read where Caiden was going to go there. Inquiring minds want to know!!
  5. I hope they are more flexible, and reactive. Canadian killed us with their strong safety on the Jett sweep in the state game. Neece didn't have an answer for it. A soft pass behind the safety would have neutralized that play. We'll see.
  6. Will the links be up on game night, so we can find the game we want? thanks
  7. That's kinda good news since district 12 has been weak for several years now. It'll be good to see some compition. 🤼‍♂️
  8. It's always fun to start off a thread with a good belly laugh. Just sayin.
  9. Is #44 on offense, or defense? I can't find a #44 on the roster
  10. Very nice overview, guys. Thanks I enjoyed that.👍
  11. Wow, CB, do you walk on water too. I can see by your avatar, that you've had your nose in too may people's business. Someone bit part of it off. Hurt much?. Lol
  12. Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.
  13. Regarding the Gatson kid, that is tremendous news for us eagle fans. Also I hear T. Brown has a younger brother who is as good or better than his older brother. Maybe some of you local guys can fill us in. We like eagle news from the Piney Woods. Go Eagles, man I can't wait. 🏈
  14. Aw man, I sure was looking forward to watching that young-un play this year. It is ironic that you mention Seastrunk though, my son and I was wondering if they had anyone who could compete for quarterback. Thanks for the info, keep it coming.
  15. Anybody know if that was the Gatson kid, if so I'm disappointed to hear that.
  16. From your keyboard to Gods ears WOSgrad!!
  17. Last year I believe they drove to Enniis, spent the night, then drove on in to Arlington. If so, they will probably do the same this year, So that won't be quite so bad. Besides that it didn't hurt any then.
  18. Dam, you would think that someone in his community would step up and try to be a big brother, or father figure to this kid. He has too much talent and too much to lose for his problems to be ignored. It is such a waste, not specifically for football, but for a productive life. I can assure you, with this kids talent, the world was his oyster.
  19. IMO EB was the ultimate sleeper team this year. Nobody saw them coming. When a poll says 95% favored Newton to win that is telling. EB coaches had an excellent game plan, and their kids played it to perfection. Most of the homers were saying how smart and hardworking they were, and that proved to be right. It would not surprise me that the coaching staff had been working on a game plan for Newton all year it was pretty obvious Newton was the team to beat. Knowledgeable people have said what really hurt Newton was the EB linemen were not taking the bait on pulling guards and tackles. They. Held their positions, made the play thus hampering Newtons running game. (An over simplification) By the second half Newton coaches figured it out and began to make adjustments. I've said before, EB had the strangest offensive scheme I have ever seen, and keep in mind it was all new to Newton. The perfect storm you might say. After all is said and done, Newtons offense came through in the end. Those kids made a final game winning drive that proves what a Silsbee player said of this team in their game. "We held them for 2 quarters, but they just kept coming at us". But I will tell you, I am worried that this team has been hurt in the area where Canadian is the strongest, without Brown. However I have said all along, the championship is theirs to win , it all depends on how bad they want it. It is up to them.
  20. EB took away Barlow's legs. They used a very smart angle swoop and wrap. The OLBs continued to play the best perimeter ball I've seen in a while....Overall it was good coaching on both sides. That long TD run Barlow got in the 3rd took Newton the entire 2nd qtr and part of the 3rd to set it up "Excellent Coaching on Newton's Part". Newton kept trying to get the DT to follow the Guard outside but EB stayed very disciplined. Go back and look at the play before the TD and you'll see where the EB's strong 3 tech finally followed the Guard and went after barlow. The very next play they ran the counter with G and T pulling on the 38 which left a lane. Go to the next drive Newton had the ball and EB didn't follow anymore lolol. 3 I'll tell you exactly what was up with Barlow tonight. EB had outstanding OLB play and 2 shut down corners. They had 4 guys shut down everything to the outside by staying home in the 9 tech and getting off blocks. 7 and 2 played man to the outside and was better than Newton's receivers so it left 7 men to defend the box and force newton to setup plays. Once the Newton DC figured out that the DT's would not follow the pulling Guard and tackle outside that's when Newton was able to start moving the ball and get a drive going. But that said 12 for EB might have been the best MLB Newton faced all year. Defensively Newton was solid the entire game...mental mistakes cost them that last TD. 33 seems to lose composure really easily and once he does looks like a couple others feed off of it and follow right behind him. Once again Newton's true best player and savoir was and is Sylvester. He will be a beast at DT in college. The more I watch him the more he reminds me of ex Arp player and Baylor's starting DT Tyrone Hunt whom is expected to picked in the late 2nd to 3rd round in this years draft. similar builds at that age.
  21. LOL They also have a saying "You can't tackle what you can't catch."
