First, congrats to those kids who made this list. Seeing your name on any list is kind of cool, however, and please don't take this the wrong way, but here is what I see when I look at this list: 4 schools considered...10-11 every-day positions from each school = 40 to 44 players to choose from. This list shows 29 players chosen! Just my opinion, but I think it may be a little overkill.
I know some will think my opinion takes away from the kids, but I believe the additional 15 or so excess selections diminish those top 14 who deserve to be recognized.

AAW, your broadcast was great, so don't let one bad apple ruin it. I wish everyone could just be happy they got to hear the game because of your continued committment to high school sports in Southeast TX. Without you, I wonder how folks who had to work could have heard the game. Your desire to promote this area's youth is unparallel. Thanks for doing what you do. Congrats NHS on a great year!

"Only 8? That was 2007, This year we've lost 20 or so Seniors lol...This year should really be the year that will tell if BC should be running the Spread Offense or not.....I think they'll get into the Playoffs and who knows maybe win a game or two once they get there"
in the playoffs? WOW! Click your shoes and wish away.

Will WOS as we know it today exist in 5 years or will LCM consume it to become its "LCM South" campus?
-
I met Mike 20 yrs ago at Lamar. He is as intense and passionate about success now as he was back then. Orangefield will miss him. Kountze will love him. Good luck, Mike!
-
That's so unlike him, Lazeek...NOT!

OK thats fine. He knows what happened there better than I do anyway. :...The regional tournament is often referred to as the REGIONAL FINALS....as the STATE TOURNEY is called the STATE FINALS...I should have referenced it as the Regional semi finals...OK...Regional semi finals...55-45 Van....please accept my sincere apology for that. :
I believe you are the only one I know that calls the regional tourney the regional finals and the state tourney the state finals. I have been going to the state tourney since 1972, 38 straight years, and I have only known and heard the state tourney be called the STATE TOURNAMENT!
AAW, thanks for saying what EVERYONE else was thinking. Coo-Coo, Coo-Coo!

Well, after reading these responses, it is very clear that there are obvious problems in PA. Dicky, I do not know how good a job this private gig is that you have just landed, but I would think it's a much better sitiuation than what you just left. It seems that you would have been better off taking an assistant job at HJ or Silsbee than being at that place in PA. ;D
Count your blessings.
No jobs for him to "take" at either school. Good luck in Houston, dv.
-
They will have to buy me out like Calipari, if they want me to take the job!!!!! :D
I would double their offer to keep you in Houston.
-
Oh I get it. You don't want to be blamed for HJ losses in 4 years...coolnope.....just camps during the summer.....too many people found out I was a shooter and not a maker......
...not as long as Todd Sutherland walks HJ's hallways
-
Fact: Joubert and Silsbee's coach have proven to be winners over a longer period of time.
-
Joubert has established himself as a long-time winner, and I think he's going to be successful wherever he coaches. He played for HJ on their '91 state championship team, so he's gotta be good. I hope he stays at Kountze and doesn't get in the middle of a potential messy situation.

I underestimated HF. Good luck in the playoffs, Horns, and make 21-3A proud. Good luck WOS and OF as well.
-
Is it even possible for WOS & OF to finish 2nd & 3rd or has HF already secured a playoff spot?
-
No. They have to beat Of Friday and then their would be a playoff game between the 2.
Thanks, Coop. Go Stangs!!

You should enjoy your school's current baseball success and quit dreaming about something that will not happen as long as Todd Sutherland walks the halls of HJ.

welcome back DV we all missed you believe it or not you keep the bball forum alive
Speak for yourself! Hopefully he won't put the discussion back in the gutter. It took a while to get it cleaned up after his last childish outburst.
-
Does this mean WOS is out of the race now?
-
If my coach was being considered for the job and I didn't want him to leave, I'd be interested in the outcome too. I'm a big 21-3A fan, but since it's only Ozen and my coach isn't involved, I think it's already received too much attention. For your sake, tigersvoice, I would like Silsbee to keep all of its pieces together. I think Lazeek is right with what he said.
-
Is this really that newsworthy? Let it be Lumberton's football job or HJ's basketball job, and there will be more posts.
-
Looking at the schedules,it should come down to this.
HF should be 6-3 going into there last game with BC
OF should be 5-4 going into there last game with WOS
WOS should be 5-4 going into there last game with OF
Only if there are no upsets along the way.
Probable district standings at end
BC 10-0
HF 6-4
WOS ? beats OF 6-4 Loses 5-5
OF ? beats WOS 6-4 Loses 5-5
So it all depends on the last game between OF and WOS. This will be the game to watch.
All this only if Silsbee and HJ doesnt play spoiler. Let the games begin. Exciting 21-3A baseball
Definitely a fair assessment, but as we all know, anything can happen. I'm sure Silsbee and HJ would love to play spoiler, so every game counts.
-
Assessment right on, Critter. BC looks pretty tough these days. They play fundamentally sound ball and seem like they're ready to take care of business. I think OF is a strong 2nd, which leaves WOS & HF to fight it out for the 3rd spot. It'll be interesting to see who prevails.

It's refreshing to see WOS baseball return. Congrats on the win!
Is there a running clock rule?

I've seen a non-stop running clock twice, each time when WOS was stomping a fellow 21-3A opponent. So don't say it "doesn't" or "can't" happen at the varsity level because it does. It was not eating the clock. It was a straight up non-stop clock. I'm not sure who decides to let it happen, but I was actually glad to see it in these two games. Final scores were 60+ to nil, so there was no chance of coming back.
