  1. I agree, not the best but as another poster said, maybe the most entertaining. If you attend any 20-4A district game this year, you will get your moneys worth. Lets hope our teams that do make the playoffs go far this year.
  2. Good post. I am glad to the see the LCM program on the upswing. I really hope they make the playoffs this year, but as I have said in another post, some good teams in 20-4A will have to stay home. I hope that PNG and LCM are in the hunt. Good luck to the Bears.
  3. Not me. I Love it! that means we won't ever have to listen to that annoying L-train horn again! Back to the thread, I am looking forward to the Livinston game. I like the small town atmosphere. Just going to have to get there early!
  4. We don't lend, we GIVE it away. The state of Texas has the Robin Hood plan of school finance. Livinston could always do what PNG did- Pass a bond issue, spend ALL they can on the football stadium and if any is left spend it on class rooms!
  5. I HATE that Nederland has this many injuries. I was really looking forward to this game in the preseason. As some of you had said, On Friday night, anything can happen. Barring ANYTHING crazy happening, I see PNG taking this by a couple of touchdowns. Good luck to both teams and NO MORE injuries... To either team! ON a side note: If we can't get our "home cookin" back at the Reservation, it may be closer that that. JUST PICKING! ;D Go Indians!
  6. This is the first PNG game I have missed in several years. (Home with the flu). Listened to the game on the radio. Stayed on the edge of my chair the whole game! What a a game to miss! There are NO cakewalks in 20-4A. Every game in this division last night was settled by a touchdown or less, with a half the games going to overtime. Its a wonder the PNG-LCM game didn't go to OT! Congrats to the Indians on a hard fought win. Congrats to the Bears too. They played a helluva game! Good luck next week to both teams. I would love to see both the Indians & Bears in postseason action.
  7. WOW! What a game! Congrats to the Indians... and the Bears. Good game y'all!
  8. I am impressed with both programs! These kids have learned more about sportsmanship and life than just winning a football game. The story about Morgan is uplifting also. It sounds like this kid learned from his mistakes and is making the best of a second chance. Good story.
  9. From the Weekly World News: Pirate ship sinks in Beaumont. Jaguar attack sends Pirates running toward the East. One Pirate was hollering "We shoulda stuck to pillaging private schools!" Bear Season Opens On Reservation. Bear Population Decimated. May Now Be Endangered Species![ L-Train derailed in Livingston. Lions feed on hapless Raiders. Meanwhile Bigfoot roams in Lumberton!Annoying train horn destroyed in derailment! Panther picks fight with bulldog In Nederland Actually, they never really fought. They just stared at each other and growled until everybody went home. WOS Fans Still Angry! Second consecutive week they have not won a game!
  10. Let 'em enjoy it. They are going to get a big dose of reality Friday night!

  12. Probably an unpopular opinion, but to me it appears the Astros fired a good man because he couldn't make chicken salad out of chicken s#*t! As long a Drayton McLane pinches his pennies, they never will field a winner. You can't blame Cooper for the owner and GM's management tactics. There may be somebody out there who can motivate the aging veterans and rag-tag youngsters into a few more wins, but they will never be Champions. McLane would have to make a commitment to do so and wont part with the money required to build a consistant winner. All the long suffering Astros fans have to look forward to is more of the same.
  13. The ONLY reason LCM will be an "underdog" is because they are playing at the Reservation. I'm telling y'all that NO team in 20-4A can be overlooked. Any given Friday, any team in this district is capable of winning. No true "underdogs"; just lots of good football this year!
  14. C'mon guys, How often do other posters get a chance to jump on WOS fans? Let 'em have their day in the sun. Like Majestyk says "You gotta take the good with the bad".
  15. I dont see any game in 20-4A as being a BIG upset. This district is as loaded as anytime I can remember. IF LCM wins Friday night, yes it would be an upset; but there are a lot of fans that expect this to happen. Every Friday night will be electric and there will be a few "upsets". Some of you are "upset" that PNG hasnt been beaten already!
  16. Just like when Central plays PNG later this season: "It would not be an upset if PNG pulls that win out..." Why not? PN-G missed the playoffs last year and an embarrasing loss at the Reservation by these Jaguars... I only remember hearing about an embarrasing halftime performance. LOL!! He gotcha on that one Soulja! That is wrong! The only thing embarrasing about the PNG-Central game was the behavior by both teams at the end of the game. Both teams have new coaches and better programs, so I hope all of that is behind us. Back to the thread topic: Congrats to the Bears for beating a good Cleveland team, however, they are done beating Indians for this year. This will be a good game for two promising programs. There are NO cakewalks in 20-4A this year!
  17. When you look at it as a pound-for-pound thing, you have to consider that WOS & Newton dress out 26-28 players. The bigger schools like PNG, PAM suit up at least 60 kids. Given that if you are looking at pound for pound... WOS wins it hands down. Bigger schools are not even in the running.
  18. I had read something about this last year. I though it was a team in N. Central Texas that did this. The coach spouted the same kind of numbers and percentages. I'm kinda intrigued by it, but if I was a coach, I don't think I could go for it 4th & long inside my own 20.

  20. There is LOTS of hallucinating in this thread. (I hope I'm not one of 'em!) No matter, there will be a couple of good teams staying home Port Neches-Groves Indians Sept. 25 Little Cypress-Mauriceville*, 7;30 p.m. W Oct. 2 Nederland*, 7:30 p.m. W Oct. 9 @ Livingston*, 7:30 p.m. W Oct. 16 Vidor*, 7:30 p.m. W Oct. 23 @ Lumberton*, 7:30 p.m. ? 21. Not hardly. If they don't win another game this year, I'm still behind this group of coaches. You obviously haven't seen PNG play this year. If you had, you wouldn't be making ignorant comments like that. As much as I like these coaches, they have a long way to go before they will reach the status of Dan Hooks, Cornell Thompson and Curtis Barbay. I believe eventually they will but it will take many moons to reach that stature.
  22. In all the games I've seen at the rez, I've never seen such poor officiating against the Indians. I've seen some "home cookin" a time or two, but nothing like this! Never mind the stripes, The TC player that blocked 3 kicks was an animal! He almost got to us on a couple of punts too. I expect the coaches will get the bugs worked out of the kicking teams before the next game. Two things REALLY impressed me last night. First of all, Doty is fantatstic! In spite of the wind, he threw some darts. How a high school kid can throw on the run like this with this kind of accuracy is amazing to watch. Secondly, how about the Indian crowd! We all came alive after the last TC touchdown (gift from the stripes) and didn't calm down 'till we got home! I know this fired up the team! This is the most fun I've had as a fan in a while. GO INDIANS!
  23. Thats why its called HOME field advantage. Y'all crack me up! ;D
  24. Geez, you're joking right? Anyone who thinks 20-4A "is not as strong as it has been in the past", is someone who has been on the back 9 too long. Or maybe the 19th hole! Just kidding! ;D
  25. Not sure who your getting your info from....District 20-4A is loaded this year, top to bottom. Which means it is actually "STRONGER" than normal. LC-M is looking good, much better than in recent years. Vidor, is looking extremely solid. Ozen is the only team that hasn't impressed me so far this year. Some say Nederland is down this year. With the loss of Bellows, they may be, however I'm not sold on it yet. The next few weeks will give us a better idea. Man, I gotta agree with TexAgNDN. 20-4A looks as solid across the board as I have seen in years! I don't think anybody with knowledge about local football will debate Vidors strengths. Don't count Nederland out yet either. And Look out for the Indians! (shamless self promoting of PNG) ;D
