Agree about sportsmanship from Wharton. I watched them play Bridge City the other night and they were the same way. Hugging and helping players off the floor after they won. Great coaching over there.

I watched them vs Bridge City the other night. They were ok. Nothing spectacular in my view. If Silsbee comes out with the same intensity they had last night, it will be a blow out.

Unless Silsbee just comes out totally flat I don’t see tomorrow’s game being close at all. Wharton struggled greatly against Bridge City. Silsbee has a real chance to make the big dance this year.

Great game. Newton can’t stop their run game. Need to make some adjustments.

Really thought HD defense looked the best it has all year. There are several plays that come to mind but two big plays that stand out that really hurt HD was the 1Q fumble when HD was inside the red zone of WS and the in the 3 Q when HD fumbled inside the 15 of WS. Those were game changing plays that should have resulted in points. But regardless these kids played hard and WS got the W. So congratulations and good luck to WS.

They charged HD two times outs for that?

Can’t say enough about HD! Tremendous play by these kids regardless of the outcome. Very optimistic about this young teams future.

I know nothing about WS besides what max preps has. Their district is definitely the favorite against all of our teams. I can see HD being competitive for the 1st half then falling behind in the 2nd half. Hope I’m wrong.

Good job H-D. Hats off to High Island for their first year back into 11 man football in over a decade. H-D should finish the season at 6-3. Which is a Major turnaround from the last 3 seasons. This team in my opinion is pretty solid all around. If they can stay together, they’ll make some noise in the playoffs in a season or two. I just don’t see it them doin anything in the playoffs this years. District 11 is to stout for District 12. Hope I’m wrong. 😬😬

I was there. And I believe HD would have ran away eventually but I do think it could have been tied or very close at half. Their QB was a pretty good dual threat QB. Fast backs as well.
