Congrats DV!

I know nothing about WS besides what max preps has. Their district is definitely the favorite against all of our teams. I can see HD being competitive for the 1st half then falling behind in the 2nd half. Hope I’m wrong.

Good job H-D. Hats off to High Island for their first year back into 11 man football in over a decade. H-D should finish the season at 6-3. Which is a Major turnaround from the last 3 seasons. This team in my opinion is pretty solid all around. If they can stay together, they’ll make some noise in the playoffs in a season or two. I just don’t see it them doin anything in the playoffs this years. District 11 is to stout for District 12. Hope I’m wrong. 😬😬

I was there. And I believe HD would have ran away eventually but I do think it could have been tied or very close at half. Their QB was a pretty good dual threat QB. Fast backs as well.

Good game HD. Game could have been a whole lot different imo if Burkville didn’t have two fumbles before half . HD still may have ran away eventually but could have been closer. Hats off to Coach Williams for doing a good job in rebuilding the mustangs.

Lol! I assure you they are a whole lot better than they’ve been in previous years. They will win the first round this year and be competitive in the second round .

I disagree with your nephew. 😬 Evadale had two chances to score in the last two minutes of the first half and were stopped both times by HD defense. HD is not down this year. They are a young team that is better than it’s been in at least 4 years. They’ll be district champs next year if they can keep this team together. Their main RB didn’t play until 2nd half or score would have been higher. I can really see HD winning a first round playoff game this year. While it may not be much to a lot of teams, it would be huge for this team going into the offseason. Good luck to Evadale on the rest of season

Maybe no one knows but still want to ask just Incase. 😬 What happens if In the playoffs a team gets hit with Covid. Does the UIL allow for that game to be played at a later date or will it be a forfeit for the team affected? If so, it could be a wild playoff year.

And even still they should’ve won but... 45 yards in unsportsmanlike penalties and at least 7-8 false starts A faced mask at the end of the game that was a huge play and totally uncalled for that was the story of the game. Trying to make it to the game but traffic is bumper to bumper.

I wondered the same thing. Was told they had light plants for the field but wondering if electricity is off in the town. Wish they would have played the game at H-D.

I watched DV play Legacy last week and I must say I was shocked to see legacy hang with DV for the 1st half and were even up 6-0 at the end of one. I believe had # 4 of Legacy not got hurt this game may have been a whole lot closer in the second half. He seemed to be the game changer. With that said, I didn’t see the speed like someone said DV has . They had one kid who seemed pretty quick. If HD goes into to DV and coughs the ball up multiple times , they will lose. If not, I think H-D takes this game by 2 touchdowns. H-D is quicker and the main thing is, they have gotten better with each passing week.
