  1. This. WOS can get back in this and if they can pull out the win, should be a big confidence boost going forward
  2. Take away the fumble return and the big pass play from Newton and we got an even ball game
  3. Not even close to a sell out
  4. That sounds pretty good, but also sounds like heartburn city lol
  5. I know of about 4 former WOS players that are assistant coaches, one was a player back in the SC runs in the 80s and has been an assistant at WOS for a very long time, another was on the 2000 state finalist team. So they should know what all made up “The Mustang Way”. Plus Hickman was an assistant under CT for about 5 years so he should have knowledge of how practice and drills were run. I’m going into this season with an open mind, they have a clean slate to start over without the meddling of the previous superintendent. The real victims of that social experiment were the kids that played the last 3 years. Back to WOS- Newton, I’m taking WOS in a physical slugfest 20-12
  6. Thanks for the explanation. Let’s hope for the best.
  7. WOSdrummer can probably answer this but what’s it looking like as far as Southlake Carroll overtaking the Stangs this year as the all time winning program? I know they’re snapping at the Mustangs heels .
  8. Cove Harbor marina. Not sure what the special will be on Friday but it will be good. Can always have a pizza and a beer overlooking the bayou.
  9. I’ll be at this one. Hearing the Mustang defense will be back to its old ways. Guess we shall see.
  10. Wonder what criteria they used to determine this? That can’t be number of wins the last 6 years
  11. Funny how a stray tennis ball changed his life forever! Talk about fate stepping in!
  12. Wow! I knew things were bad but didn’t realize that bad! Seeing the numbers like that really shows the stark reality
  13. The fact that less than 20 people applied when CT retired speaks volumes about the school board and administration. A school steeped in tradition and one that’s known statewide should have triggered a massive response in applications for the AD job. And not just football tradition, remember when the basketball and baseball programs were continually pretty successful? Coach Anderson always had the baseball team as a contender every year. At least I remember.
  14. [Hidden Content] great interview. Lots of Mustang history.
  15. Very interesting statement. I’d planned to go to the meeting even though I don’t live in the district just to hear what’s said, but the wife came home sick so I had to get my daughter around to all her after school activities.
  16. I’m wondering how the first board meeting of this year will go. I’m hearing rumors many will show up.
  17. Carthage has to be pulling in kids from all around them. There’s not that much in Carthage to do in the form of employment.
  18. Been said before but you’d think with a program that WOS has had the last 4 decades, the history and traditions it has, it would have attracted a few high caliber quality coaches from strong programs. That didn’t happen. Which leads me to believe it’s small town politics mainly with the school board that kept any from applying. Schools like Gilmer, Southlake Carroll, Celina, Austin Westlake and others can have a new HC step in and keep the train rolling pretty much without missing a beat.
  19. I don’t realize the overall athletic program was that bad. I knew baseball and softball has been really poor, but volleyball? 0-38? Dang!
  20. Live feed keeps cutting in and out. Anyone else having that issue Or is it just me?
  21. Is the broadcast not working?
