  1. I can understand what your saying in theory, but who would certify the scales before each game? Would there be an official scale?
  2. Listen, I am a white parent with kids on WO-S Junior Blue...sorry Demon, as a white person I took the Snoop Dog comment as a racist shot although very well veiled. Sorry dude, I hope I am wrong but I call it as I see it. I don't know you so I give you the benefit of the doubt. I have been around just about every team we have this season at some point and I can tell you we have great kids, parents, and coaches at every division as I know YOU do. You know personally, I would not have thought anything about YOUR side singing that song and neither would the kids on my side. I kinda doubt that your kids really took it as classless as you did. I think Tom Hanks said it best, "There's no crying in baseball." I think this applies to football, if you don't like something live a year with it then try to kick our tails next year, don't get on here and try to taint a victory over your squad. Lumberton had a great year at just about every level, good luck to ya'll next year.
  3. Rod, I want to personally thank you for having the faith in my kids to play them. You were always fair and you and the rest of the coaches are among the best people I have ever met. I never really knew how good Aaron was until I saw how he dominated his blocks on the tape. Being his and Darren's first year, they learned everything from the coaches. Thanks again, you guys are the best. I hope they can all play together in high school. Who knows they may even play senior next year.
  4. So happy your Ok QUEEN, YOUR the best team mom...
  5. Great game and great season lil stangs...way to take home the gold. Lumberton your team is awesome as well. Your kids are well coached and play with heart. Good job.
  6. Congrats to all Junior Blue kids, parents, and coaches. Queen B get well, sorry to hear about your car wreck on the way to the game. You were definately missed and I hope and pray you and yours dont hurt too much. Also congrats, to the PeeWee Stangs who took home the gold as well. Also, I just want to say that both Lumberton teams played with a lot of heart and never gave up. They are both great teams and those kids, parents, and coaches are to be commended as well.
  7. Outstanding job Cowboys!!! Next year take it all the way, baby!!!!!!
  8. TD and BIGD..thanks for the support guys. We appreciate and let's go also the peewee Stangs. Let's get two!!!!!!!!
  9. Where is "Boomer" Beman when you need him anyways? Our luck they would probably send Joe Thiesman.
  10. I think it is so hard to say who has what in each division...I know we played two playoff teams on our schedule (Kountze beat us and advanced to the semi's)...beat the defending champs in Bridge City, and beat just a fabulous team in West Orange-Stark junior white. I think we are battle tested, I tell you either team that came throught the wars last week HAS to be battle test (including Lumberton). I just don't think with kids you can judge from past games or even past performances. It will be whoever plays best on the big stage Saturday. My opinion is that we will be ready to play and I know they will be also. Should be outstanding game. AS far me I am going with MY team, go Junior Blue. I went back to look at both teams records and scores threw the year. WOS average 38 point, and gave up 5 points a game. Lumberton average 41 points, and gave up 15 points a game. Lumberton did have a tougher division and play off run ( how was this team seeded #7). Like I said just a outsider looking in, but a huge youth football fan. I saw WOS play twice and Lumberton play three times. Lumberton has 4 backs that can score a lot, now #20 is a horse but don't just key on him. And on trick plays my opinion is every offence is a trick offence. Watch college and the Pros these days, every play has a play action or a misdirection in it. What a day of football this will be. Looks like Southeast Texas will a again be on top with the youths we have coming up today. By the way looking at the scores the two lumberton teams did play each other White won 31 to 27. How did they have a tougher division and playoff run???????? ???
  11. I agree totally. You know the lifeblood of local sports SHOULD always be local. Right now there is not a lot of high school activity or local sports as basketball has not yet hit it's stride. Come on, I am calling the local media out right here. This weekend is important to so many people in this area. This is news. What's the problem? You just want to be spoonfed scores by coaches in everything? Cover the event, surely your not too lazy.
  12. I can't wait...but um..they should have plenty of shots of 81 and 80 Queen B lol ;D ;D ;D ;D....I am so happy that these kids will get this experience, I just wish that every kid in the STJFL could as well.
  13. Hmmm I pick.....West Orange...I could not live with myself if I didn't or live with my kids lol.
  14. Congratulations Indians, although this is my first year dealing with the STJFL, I am amazed at the level of coaching and talent in this league at all levels. It is so hard to win a championship at any level, so that is a great accomplishment. Once again congrats from a Mustang fan.
  15. I think that was in reference to the nickname that someone else on this board gave it and it kinda stuck. I am sure he meant no disrespect. You sure have not seen any of our games this year if you think that is the ONLY offense we run. We have probably the most diverse offense in the league. We did what we had to do to get past a terrific team. Congrats on your victory over a very tough Kountze team. It should be a fun game. For the record I have seen high schools run what we did today, but I have seen none run yours. I know your very proficient at it and in the end that is all that matters.
  16. Wow, this game was worth the price of admission. Intensity, kids leaving everything they had on the field. A fabulous, fabulous game. All these kids on both sides are champions. White team, parents, coaches, and kids should feel so proud of the season and the game their kids played. This game should be remember for a long, long time as one of the greatest STJFL games ever. I can tell you one thing, that team will be back and almost impossible to beat next season. Pro teams could take a lesson from how hard fought this game was. White team coaches, here's to you, outstanding job!!!!!!! Let's go blue all the way.
  17. they meet on the unfrozen tundra of hooks stadium...two teams..one an immovable object one an irrestible force...excitement is in the air with a chance for the ultimate game waiting for one...more stars on the field than in the heavens..seriously..may everyone be safe and make it be earned on the field instead of a refs call, thank goodness for good weather...and good luck to the other teams playing also and may they be safe.
  18. Thanks for the info, as up till now no one had been able to tell me anything. I appreciate it QueenB.
  19. I am new to this and I understand that division games only counted with no wildcard, i don't like it but i understand it. Question though, in the junior ranks they only counted division and there WERE wild cards. Maybe I am wrong but can someone explain this to me? Im not sure Bulldog1985. But I guess you're right. Is that how its done in uil also if there is a tie? Do they go from district or conference record to points allowed? Bulldog1085 is correct. With no wildcards spots, non-division games do not count. Does not matter what UIL does, STJFL has there playoff qualifications. Maybe WOS White just gave up too many points.
  20. also, look at the junior leagues..i can tell you one thing if you combined the two junior teams and the kids keep their heads on straight you will have one heck of a team when they reach high school.
  21. First of all I have known Mr. Dallas for a lot of years. Although my boys have never had the pleasure of playing for him I would be honored if they ever did. I can tell you his baseball teams are among the most disciplined and knowledgable teams in the area. I have NEVER heard him cuss or mistreat a kid. He will stick up for his kids and I admire and respect that. I wasn't there so I can't say whether he did or not, but I do know the man and I would say it would be out of character for him. I have tried not to respond because the whole thing is just silly. I am the one they said was cussing at them and it was on a long run down our sidelines. If your son told you that I was cussing then I won't say he made it up but I will say he misunderstood what I was saying. All I said (to our player) is they can't catch you and then I repeated that. I have coached mostly baseball for alot of years in Orange. I have coached all-star teams also. My teams are usually very successful. Mostly because I demand discipline. I have and do coach select ball also. I have recruited kids for select teams from all over the Golden Triangle. I help coach basketball and a few years I have helped with football. My name is Tony Dallas. Find a kid that I have coached and ask him or her or their parents if that's the type of person I am. I don't act like that and I don't allow the kids I coach to act like that either. I would never say your child or any other child is making something up but I will say they misunderstood. This will hopefully be my one and only post about this because I don't feel the need to defend my self as my coaching history should speak for itself.
  22. The paper I had we were supposed to get them Nov. 12th I think, I still have not seen anything? Have I missed something and everyone else has them or what? If not, does anyone know when we will get them?
  23. You may look at them in a bad light but the fact is they are ALL HAME OF FAME COACHES. I am not saying the inceident was not wrong, but lets not feed everyone there and the towns to the wolves. You know player 666, whats creepy is the attention you are giving me. Almost like the girl that's mean to you because she really likes you Thank God I'm married with children........ That really makes alot of sense traffichippy, it sounds to me like you were one of the clowns involved in the whole embarrising situation. And if you were you were not involved you should not try to take up for idiot coaches that your league put on the field. The board is in charge of the coaches and if they can not handle them, then the STJFL should. 66 is right on the money. You can surely dish it out but you sure as heck cant take it. :'( dragon, that is a bad analogy comapring these guys to some of the most famous idiots of all time in Knight, Martin, and Hayes...were they successful on the field/court? yes...woudl I want my kid to play for any of these nuts...no...i realize that this may be my opinion only, but I am sure that many others look at these guys in a not so favorable light.
  24. I am not sticking up for tragic as he is a grown man and can do that by himself, but seems to me people did not call Billy Martin, Bobby Knight, and Woody Hayes clowns in their coaching eras. Sometimes GOOD people do Bad things in the heat of the moment. I don't know any of these people and certainly was not there. They were wrong and they were punished, doesn't make them terrorists or even bad people. You know player 666, whats creepy is the attention you are giving me. Almost like the girl that's mean to you because she really likes you Thank God I'm married with children........ That really makes alot of sense traffichippy, it sounds to me like you were one of the clowns involved in the whole embarrising situation.
