Silva's last 3 fights should be against: 1) Keith Jardine 2) Tito Ortiz 3) Rampage Jackson for LHW title -- Yes I said it. After Evans, I see Rampage getting the title back from Lyoto

I found out that West Hardin will play Bridge City instead. Don't know if it will be on the 3rd or 4th yet, when I know you'll know. ;D

Well... Wouldn't any game be better than none at all? Whether you play a 3A sophmore team or a 2A varsity, they both have a lot more kids that play for them. No matter who they play, they should play!

who is goin to win 23-1A district

Well... if you have to get technical about it, WH did not have an actual JV. They did not have enough players for 2 teams. So, my above statement should have said the 2nd stringers, which would have been the JV if only a few more kids wanted to play. -
Dang that stinks!!! >

You don't know who's gonna have the better talent each year until each team meets up! Heart can only take you so far, you gotta have talent too!

Yea...... Right........ Only in people from HD's opinion!

Yes, Hull - Dasietta did beat the dog out of High Island last year (62 - 0), but the West Hardin game was a good one (36 - 22, fourteen point difference). So I don't see how West Hardin killed them last year. And add in the fact that High Island lost to Evadale by fourteen points also (34 - 20). Copeland did all the damage in the West Hardin game (he accounted for all of the WH td's), and like stated early in this topic High Island played Evadale well for two and half quarters. I think the Cardinals may make some people think this year, they may be on the outside looking in, but don't overlook them at all. ya but the game agianst WH was close on the scoreboard but it was never close Copleland didnt play the whole 4th quarter and two of those touchdowns were on the JV, West Hardins varsity didnt play the whole 4th quarter and some of the 3rd Actually their varsity players weren't pulled until about 4 or 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Think D-Wade is right, I'll go and watch the game film tonight and verify! Ok... I checked out the game film last night. HI scored 1 TD vs the varsity Def, 1 TD on Kickoff Return (Who was #34 last year, was it Monks?) & the last TD was vs the JV Def. JV players came in with about 5 minutes left in the game. -
John Glenn Harrington, West Hardin Oilers-Junior In Sophmore year played Defensive End/Left Offensive Tackle, 52 Tackles, 5 Tackles for Loss, 4 Sacks, 26 Assisted Tackles, 4 Forced Fumbles, 3 Fumble Recoveries, 2 Tipped Passes & 13 QB Hurry/Pressures. In addition, he played both ways as an Offensive Tackle and still managed these stats! 23-1A -- 1st Team All-District Defense & 2nd Team All-District Offense

I've got to hand it to you Yeller, sometimes you come out and say some really stupid things. Then, you totally redeem yourself by statements like this one. ;D Nice Post I as well, hope the best for all teams and players.

Cheick Kongo Looking To Face Frank Mir At UFC 107
Joharr73 replied to Joharr73's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Agreed, but still a very nice main card fight. -
French striker Cheick Kongo (20-5-1) is negotiating to face former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir at UFC 107 on December 19th in Memphis, Tennessee. Earlier rumors about the Wolfslair MMA Academy fighter stated that Kongo was looking to return to the octagon for the December show, now he may have the highly rated opponent he was looking for in Mir. According to Sportsnet.ca “Mir’s camp has stated they have yet to hear of this fight request, but have stated they are definitely interested in fighting Kongo.†Kongo will be looking to bounce back after a poor showing at UFC 99 against Cain Velasquez. Velasquez dominated Kongo on the ground, but the American could not put the Frenchmen away and was awarded the win via unanimous decision. Kongo replaced an injured Heath Herring at the last minute in his fight with Velasquez. Some reports stated that a Kongo win would have earned him a title shot against the winner of the UFC 100 heavyweight championship fight between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. Frank Mir of course, is coming off of a loss to Brock Lesnar earlier this month in a title fight for the UFC heavyweight belt at UFC 100. Mir was pummeled in his fight by the much larger Lesnar, losing in the second round by technical knockout (Punches) at 1:48. Afterwards, Lesnar antics inside the octagon has proven controversial by bad mouthing Mir at the end of the bout, flipping off fans, and disrespecting the corporate sponsor. Lesnar apologized after the incident saying he was caught up in the moment. If this rumor turns out to be true, then UFC 107 would have it’s second fight for the Memphis event. Headlining the show will be a bout between the TUF 10 coaches Quinton “Rampage†Jackson and Rashad Evans. Jackson made mention of the fight in a video while out at a club.

LITTLE KNOWN KING MO SAYS HE CAN BEAT FEDOR Friday, July 24, 2009 - by Ken Pishna - MMAWeekly.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vitor Belfort, Bobby Lashley, Brett Rogers, Tom Erickson, Jeff Monson, Don Frye, and even... Tank Abbott?! Well, now you can add Muhammed “King Mo†Lawal to the list of fighters that want to step in for Josh Barnett to fight Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction “Trilogy†on Aug. 1. And who can blame him? According to a report from Dave Meltzer of Yahoo! Sports, multiple sources say that Affliction is dangling a $500,000 carrot in front of potential opponents. “Man, I want that fight,†Mo said Thursday night on MMAWeekly Radio. “History has shown Fedor’s had problems with smaller athletic guys that he fights. Bigger guys, he just rolls right through ’em. The smaller guys, or the guys that can move real well, give him problems.†King Mo would definitely fit into the category of smaller, athletic fighters. He has floated around between 185 and 205 pounds in his professional career, which is marked by four wins and no defeats. But it is his fighting style and attitude that Mo believes makes him a good opponent for Fedor. “I want that fight because I think I can win. I can beat this dude. Granted, he’s got heavy hands. Everybody has flaws. Styles make fights,†he stated repeatedly. “I can see my style causing him a lot of problems. “I’m not a guy in survivor mode ever. I saw Cro Cop respect (Fedor) a little too much and fought to survive. If I go out there, I’m gonna try and take him out. Whatever it takes; slams, elbows, knees, whatever it takes I’m gonna try and win.†Realistically, Mo realizes that his being called in to face Fedor is a long shot. He’s hopeful, but having fought his entire career thus far in Japan, skills or not, he leaves a lot of people in America asking, “King Mo who?†“To me, anything is possible,†he said with a hint of resignation. “Right now, people don’t know who I am. I’m not a UFC veteran. I fight in Japan. People in America tend to be more UFC fans. So then people don’t really know me. “(But) by the end of the day, the fans love me because I’m gonna bring it.†All fingers are still pointing towards Vitor Belfort as the most likely replacement for Barnett. Belfort’s camp believes it is all but a lock, already doing rounds with the media. But Affliction vice president Tom Atencio has remained steadfast, “Until you hear it from me, until I have a contract signed, they’re all rumors. Until you absolutely hear it from my voice, from me, it’s not finalized.†So far, Belfort’s name as the replacement for Barnett has not come from Atencio’s mouth. He told MMAWeekly.com on Thursday, however, that he hopes to project the name of Fedor’s new opponent at some point on Friday.
