Even if it's 100 degrees at kickoff time, I'll be there in my 'union' jacket watching Coach Dale and Kountze start the season off right.

Haven't seen or heard anything on how this scrimmage came out?  Anyone have any info?

What do you want to see out of your team in their first scrimmage?  What are the expectations? 

Coach Dale is a 1st class person.  None come finer.  He's paid his dues along the way and has worked alongside some extremely successful head coaches.  This will be a challenge for him, but I look forward to watching his teams play.  Good Luck from an old baseball field grass raker and burning pile buddy!

Maybe I stated that wrong...monthly take home was reduced evidently to change in tax laws...thought Congress passed that..not obama.

So how many of you picked up the mail today to find a letter from TRS stating your annuity would be reduced once again?  I knows we are lucky to have retirement income, but to the best of my recollection, this is the second time in less than three years this has taken place. Yep...everyone has to make adjustments economically now, but when was the last time a cost of living increase was forwarded to retirees...2001? Oh well, back to the game...

I believe little_d made the comment: that's what it's all about...money--etc. i was just wondering if they were reducing coaching staff because of budget cuts...and not gonna replace all that were let go...they'll have to hire some, but maybe not as many as they had.

Well xquizit, u hit the nail on the head...u know u can't blame anyone other than the coaches.  Come On Man! So by definition, what makes a 'good' coach?

Hear that only 1 person is left on staff...how many will they replace..will the number of male coaches gonna be reduced?  big time budget crunch going on state wide isn't it?  just wondering...

Coach Williams would be an excellent choice.  Evadale probably doesn't want to lose him..again. Whichever person is selected is going to have a tough row to hoe for a few years.  I wonder if anyone has withdrawn their name from consideration after meeting with the board and knowing that Kirbyville is now open.  Just a thought...

With the score 14 - 6 heading into the 4th quarter, Buna took control and put Hemphill away.  It was a pretty good showing by the Hornets, but fatigue set in and the Cougars did what they needed to do to win the game.  There is no need to make comments such as..."couldn't poor pi$$ out of a bucket". Give both credit for a hard fought contest. Doesn't Newton come to Buna this next Friday night? Good Luck to both teams the rest of the way.

I don't think Hemphill is showing Buna any disrespect by making this the homecoming game. I'm thinking they wanted to get all the distractions that homecoming week brings out of the way before district play begins. 'Good Luck' to both teams this week and the rest of the season.

Cougars need to play a 'complete' game..not just 1st half...enough talent on this team to put up a good number of wins this season...buna takes this one by 6...
