Didn't the Lions show improvement on the field until the injury bug came calling? Injuries are part of the game, but they really hurt a team when key players are out. I also thought Kountze won the district track meet this year...or am I wrong on that? I believe Coach Dale has the program heading in the right direction...give the guy a chance.

I didn't see Nicole Casper's name on the list, unless I overlooked it. A 2x defending State Champion 2A Pole Vaulter that is the front runner to bring home another championship, will be competing in her 4th State Track and Field Championship.

Maybe the Wildcat's have a 'very' good football team and Vidor was just unmanned.  I wonder how many thought Angleton's last game was going to be this week?

I wouldn't be surprised if the top number in 2A went up enough for Buna to stay in this classification.  Guess we'll find out in February.

A little of both..motivation 2 still have the opportunity in wk 10 to make the playoffs and possible overconfidence by the opponent...some other kids will get their chance this week on the offensive side of the ball with all the injuries the Cougars have ahd recently.

Coming off a disappointing loss to East Chambers and more than likely being w/o several key players, this looks like an Eagle victory Friday night.  But....this just might work to Buna's advantage.  26 - 14 Buna

Buna has new life with Woodville's victory over Anahuac last week as they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot.  I'll take the Cougars in this one

i don't believe the twine boys can bring the hornets to victory from this far back...must have been alot of turnovers in the 2nd quarter for the game to get this out of hand...

wow..that will make it tough for the hornets to make the playoffs unless they win out..wonder how that slipped by as far as ineligible player..

What were Williams rushing totals against Anahuac?

What numbers did Buna turn in last year?  Don't those numbers have something to do with this years figures also?  Or is the 480 what their 2 year average is?  Too many questions for an early morning.  Only question I should have is how will Buna handle the Twine's from Hemphill this coming Friday night.....

With the clock not working and such bad officiating as has been said, it's a wonder that Twine didn't have 1,000 yards rushing that night.  What do the Hemphill fans have to say about the officiating...as bad as was stated?  Really doen't matter..game over..move on to this week and try to get better on defense...both teams sure need it...

Be careful what you wish for when it comes to week 3 against Buna.  This kid is the real deal and can score from anywhere on the field...other than from the sideline..and that might be the Cougars best bet..to keep their offense on the field as much as possible and Twine off...

Rain or not, I'll take Buna in a close one.....

Even if it's 100 degrees at kickoff time, I'll be there in my 'union' jacket watching Coach Dale and Kountze start the season off right.

Haven't seen or heard anything on how this scrimmage came out?  Anyone have any info?

What do you want to see out of your team in their first scrimmage?  What are the expectations? 

Coach Dale is a 1st class person.  None come finer.  He's paid his dues along the way and has worked alongside some extremely successful head coaches.  This will be a challenge for him, but I look forward to watching his teams play.  Good Luck from an old baseball field grass raker and burning pile buddy!

Maybe I stated that wrong...monthly take home was reduced evidently to change in tax laws...thought Congress passed that..not obama.

So how many of you picked up the mail today to find a letter from TRS stating your annuity would be reduced once again?  I knows we are lucky to have retirement income, but to the best of my recollection, this is the second time in less than three years this has taken place. Yep...everyone has to make adjustments economically now, but when was the last time a cost of living increase was forwarded to retirees...2001? Oh well, back to the game...
