Eaves started for OF, Bodin came in...in the 5th or 6th.  I would say that OF played starters the entire game till the top of 7th...couple pinch-hitters (and it almost worked in their favor).

It was a good game.  Vidor hit the ball, pitchers made quality pitches, and made the plays that mattered.  OF had chances but could not come up with a hit or make those one or two plays.

The real question on everyone’s mind.. Is this win shocking?

  2.

    24-4A final standings

    1. Bellville 9-1

    2. Sealy 7-3

    3. Navasota 6-4

    4. El Campo 6-4

    5. Wharton 2-8

    6. Brookshire Royal 0-10

Navasota swept El Campo 2-0 so I’d imagine they will have the 3rd seed if the tiebreaker is head to head.

I’d be thrilled if the one that lost showed up but I’m expecting the other one.
If things go well for mine and yours respective teams we could be looking at a “rubber match”.

Yeah I hope we play better going forward than the last couple games. I’m sure they will get things rolling again. El Campo isn’t by any means a bad team. Bellville, Sealy , and El Campo are closer in team talent than some may be

Top two pitchers did not play pre-district (surgery and injury) #3 pitcher/short stop broke his leg in the summer and has been limited on the mound and not played in the field.
Top two are back and are finding their groove. I expect the short stop/#3 will be close to 100% in the next couple of weeks and back in action. This group has 1 goal and could care less about the rankings. As everyone knows it takes a little good fortune to win the whole thing so I’m not about to make a prediction but we are playing our best baseball right now and that’s exactly when we wanted it to happen. Two big games this week against a very good Jasper team so it should be fun.

Depends on which Jasper team shows up lol the one that lost to center or the other lol

Bellville should wrap up undefeated district title next week. Solid team that handles their business on the field all year

Yeah nothing flashy. I mean they got a couple of guys who have some power, but a lot of their success is just making routine plays and playing disciplined baseball. Coach Hatton has done a amazing job in his first year with the program.  Every senior that starts is headed to play baseball at the next level when they graduate.

  8. 24-4A standings and remaining games

    4. El Campo 4-4- vs Bellville, at Wharton

    5. Wharton 2-6- vs Sealy, vs El Campo

    6. Brookshire Royal 0-8- at Navasota, at Bellville

Bellville 2 Sealy 0 F Bellville clinched their 3rd consecutive district championship with the win last night.

    Navasota 8 Wharton 4 F

    El Campo 22 Brookshire Royal 1 F

Seeds 2-4 are still a bit muddy.

Understood. And "right now", Rusk is ahead of Carthage and in 1st place in the District which actually "means something" and is "not opinion". May be different in a week but at this moment Rusk is in 1st place.

Rusk also has gotten to knock out their 4 games vs Palestine and Center lol

  10. We talk about how Rusk is ranked with a losing overall record… what’s a travesty is Carthage not being ranked. Yeah they are 13-8 but they have split with #22 Rusk and #16 Lufkin Hudson. A one run loss to # 8 Pleasant grove. They also have the only win this season over 3A #6 Diboll.
