Evadale will be very competative this year mr johnson.  they can play with anyone around here in 3a down. trust me

From 3A down?????  That is a pretty tall statement to make in December.  No doubt Evadale has good players returning and should make plenty of noise in the 1A playoffs and with a playoff experienced coach in the dugout.  I am also quite sure they would not fare well playing the Orangefields, Jaspers, and Bridge Citys "around here".  This is not a shot at the Rebels, just questioning such a bold statement.  We have some pretty salty 3A baseball teams around here, but they also would be hard pressed to take on the top echelon 5A teams.
2. The UIL has been headed down this primrose path for the past 15 years.  They keep adding playoff teams to the point of being embarrassing.  There were several 2 - 8 teams in the playoffs in football this year.  Why have playoffs if everyone is playing?  Oh, you mean the UIL gets a cut of playoff receipts???  Gee, who would have thunk it?  IF you are wanting to know the UIL's motive....."follow the money"!!!  Here is one coach hoping that TASO prevails here!!
3. I think the key word here is being ignored by those with negative experiences.  That word is "Select".  The teams select or invite the players they want to play.  If the young man and his parents accept that invitation, they're on the team.  Sometimes rising talent must sometimes select whatever team that will have them.  Also, the top teams often have sponsors that  financially help  players families that could not afford the tremendous expenses that accompany select or travel teams.  Now if a select team has a parent that sponsors a team, well we all understand that players opportunity to play is greatly enhanced!  ;)  But hey, this is America!!! ;D
4. Cleveland and Coldspring were the better teams last night.  The fact remains, 20-AAA is a traditionally weak district.  That does not mean that Cleveland and Coldspring are weak. Your district champion beat our 3rd place team.  Your second place team beat ours in a competitive game.  Our district champion is hammering your 3rd place team. Seems we are pretty even.  Now go to our 4th and 5th place teams and they would take out your 4th an 5th place teams.  So saying that last night proves that 21-AAA is weak is a faulty conclusion.
5. LTPanthers7 is an authority on Bridge City because Liberty lost to BC 10 weeks ago?  He further states that Cleveland has more team speed than WOS?  Is he unaware that WOS is the reigning AAA State Champion in Track? (and by the way, that winning track team plays football!). I am not going to pop off about how this game or any other play-off game is going to transpire this week.  I will say that I like 21-AAA's chances!  Go Tigers!, Mustangs! and Cardinals! 6. Now let's see...........Orangefield returns every player except one starter.  They now have two Big 12 signees and have inherited a good baseball player in the Huckaby kid.  The Bobcats should be ranked # 1 or #2 in the State, much less the District.  Ask any baseball folks and you will see that the Bobcats are the team to beat.  My Cardinals will be fine as well, but let's be realistic.  The Bobcats took us to three games in the playoffs and we have since lost a stud in Kellogg as well as our graduates. No one should shed a tear for us because we have some super young players coming.  But there is no subsitution for experience.  With all that being said, we will be defending our District Title with all the pride of our tradition of quality baseball. 8)
7. I have absolutely no clue how this is playing in Indian country, but I too would be curious to see if Coach Burnett had the same tools (facilities, ability to hire, money, etc.) that Coach Faircloth has had.  That being said, I think Coach Faircloth has done a superb job.  Coach Burnett has always been a good man with plenty of class.  I would be surprised if he were not enjoying the Indian success vicariously.
8. Contracts are signed before school is out in May.  You have "X" amount of days after school is out/or school starts to get out of a contract.  This is usually around July 1.  If any teacher/coach "RIFed" ( reduction in force) after a contract is signed is entitled to the pay they would have received so they are not let go, therefore I question if all the facts are on the table here.  Not questioning anyone's honesty in posting, but I am familiar with school contracts and this does not smell right.
