Liberty sucks. Full of injuries, be interesting to see how this season goes. Hoping for A SINGLE WIN.
I know things aren't going the way you thought they would, but aren't you the one who has been complaining about everyone being negative on Liberty?
Insulting kids.. that's that stuff i don't like. Telling the truth is another story. Still say they get 3rd and make playoffs.
hookem you are such an embarrassment to liberty. Your the reason that people bash liberty. You would think that after your first 3 accounts getting banned from this site that you would give up on it. But didnt  you make a comment stating that liberty is lucky to win a game followed by saying you still think liberty is going to take 3rd? I'm sorry i love the panthers but they have a LONG ways to go. And it's not gonna get any better till  1) we stay out of the training room and 2) we get a new AD
First three accounts? You're obviously ignorant. Apparently you can't read, being that I said I'M HOPING FOR A SINGLE WIN, and yes I do believe they'll take third. You should spend less time worrying about me, and more time getting your education together. The reason people bash Liberty is because idiots like you get on here and criticize without proper comprehension of previous posts. Resulting in the board knowing just how much you lack a sound education and therefore explaining why Liberty is academically ineligible to this day. You computer thugs amuse me, saying all the things online you lack the brawn to say in person. ROFL!
I'll say it in person I am in the stands every Friday night.  You are an embarassment.  If I knew how to start a poll to get everyone else's opinion that is on here I would on this topic.  I will be glad as you have previously stated when your family members (nothing against your family members playing I like those kids) are no longer panthers and we don't have to listen to you.  There will be no reason for you to post since you are not a panther fan.

Soooo . . . did HookEm's "game changer" get to play tonight? (serious question, not just sarcasm) If so I can't wait to hear what he has to say about tonights game.  WOW! I am shocked. I didn't expect them to win, but I did expect  a little bit better game.
Hookem's (game changer/brother/family member) did play the first half.  He was helped off the field at the end of the first half after an interception.  I have not yet heard the diagnosis on the injury, but he did not play the second half.
The sideline for Liberty looks like an infirmary every week.  In my opinion this is due to discipline, poor off season program, and a lack of intensity during practice.  The kids are just not prepared physically for game speed.
In regards to Hookem's game changer cut the player some slack. He is a talented player and a good kid.  He just unfortunately does not walk on water  as advertised, but anyone on this forum would welcome him on your team.

Here is the problem with Liberty's players, they're getting the crap kicked out of them every week.  If they were winning these games, you wouldn't see nearly as many injuries.  Once the going gets tough, Liberty folds up like a cheap tent.  I'm so frustrated by this I can barely see straight.  I have supported this team for the past several years and have seen a great influx of talent come and go under the directions of crappy coaching and even crappier players attitudes.  I am hard on LIberty because they deserve better.  Until their players realize that, they will continue to be a joke.  Most of those kids who are in the "infirmary" are well enough to do whatever they please Saturday.  I've heard from coaches who are frustrated with the players not wanting to get back from injuries.  They want to wear the jersey to the pep rally, but not wear it to battle.  I'm tired of it.  Something has to be done by someone who can.  It needs to happen asap.
I hope you understand we are saying the same general thing.  I am just reluctant to call out any young man's heart and determination on this forum.  The frustration is with the overall program and what is allowed an expected.
For those that don't know though, if you are interested in seeing the Panthers compete at something go watch the girls they compete at every sport.

  4. Liberty had 18 JV kids to start the season. They were never going to finish the season with a JV and Freshman team.  They have not had three teams the last three years and have not tried too hard to do so.  This is dissappointing for a 3A school in my opinion.  It also could be an indication of what state the entire program is in.

Hate to be the bearer of this but since 2008-current Lib is 19 wins 25 losses=9 gm under.500.At 1 time their win % was up there but it has took a big nose dive lately
I believe only one maybe two of those wins are against teams with a winning record.  BMT Kelly 2011 and Cleveland 2010 (not sure if they were above 500, but Liberty beat them to get to the playoffs).  In the last five years I have not seen a Liberty team even compete with a good team.

Liberty will probably win this one.  The new coach has done a good job of scheduling.  Maybe he can get a game with Dayton next year
I would like to see Dayton and Liberty rebirth their rivalry. I know the two cities share commerce and entertainment. Why should they not share a spirited football game. They should haave a trophy to play for also..I heard their is a bell at the library in Liberty, Battle for the Liberty Bell, I don't know..do you? I think you do.  8)
There is a bell in Liberty.  It is not all that mobile though.  The other point would be Dayton does not need to play Liberty and Liberty should not want to play Dayton.  This dicussion comes up every year and a few from Liberty that just don't get it always do a little jaw rattling.  The folks from Dayton are just baiting.  I was just getting into high school when this match up stopped.  There were times that it got fairly ugly the week leading up.
  7. He looked real good.  The stats actually are shy of his performance.  There were two or three drops one that would have went for six, on the only drive they punted.  He made a touch throw for about forty yards moving out of the pocket across his body.  This was one of the touchdowns that was called back.  Three out of the four touchdown passes were balls thrown into the end zone.  The fourth was a pretty good run to score.  I am interested to see what he looks like under some pressure.  There was not much deffensive pressure last Friday night.
  8. [
No offense... but YALL are talking about Hardin winning playoff games and having awesome athletes. lol. H-D has had hundreds of awesome athletes that could have played for Eastern Dakota St. or where ever Stelly plays. Truth of the matter is, if you make good grades and are a serious worker in the weight room, you can play college football. Maybe not D-1, but you can play at an Eastern Alaska St. There just is not that many of those kids out there, Stelly is one.
The key word is "could have".  I am sure you and your boys will continue to tell yourselfs that while your standing around the campfire telling old has been stories.  The fact of the matter is to play college football you must have talent, heart, and want.  If a kid does not have a combination of all three forget making it in college, just ask all the kids that are back after one year.

I enjoy the history of Hull Daisetta football, and did not attend either school mentioned.  Just remember you don't have to downgrade anyone elses talent to bolster the Bobcats accomplishments.
  9. The only case I could see a coach showing some type of favortism would be in the case of a school board members child.  I would think this would be rare but human nature does exist and sense to care for yourself and family is strong.  I would bet in this instance though there is a fair argument that kid should start anyway.

A couple of things I see with High School sports is not that a coach plays kids because of politics its just sometimes they make up their mind and become fairly hard headed.  It is not always easy to admit you may have been wrong.  The other thing is we normally see the best athletes play, but at this level the best athelete is not always the best solution.  I often see kids with a lot of heart and determination not getting enough minutes.  If nothing else have them compete and let the talented kid know if you don't want to work I got somebody to take your spot who will.
  10. The folks that are dismissing this thread because it is a scrimmage does not understand the history or the folks involved in this game.  This is a civil war of sorts for east Libert County.  It's cousin vs cousin friend vs friend.  It could be a game of cup football, bragging rights are bragging rights.

As far as John Stelly is concerned not sure how much  of look he is getting from the next level, but it would not surprise me.  He does have the body type that NFL teams like in a fullback.  I can tell you the kid works his tail off in the weight room.  I hope he has a succesfull season this year after being injured last year.

No coach Deberry won't let that happen. The falcon are ranked 11th in the state and should roll through district, possibly without even playing a full 7 inning game.
Roll through district most likely, but not playing one 7 inning game?  I would hope they would struggle at least once for a win.  It would help them when get to the playoffs.
Well I would like to know who gonna give them a game in this district? Huffman plays a hard schedule before district starts because they know they won't see any good teams in district.  They didn't even play a 3a team until district started.
I don't think anyone will give them much of a game in district.  It would be more likely that Huffman just has a poor game and probably has to find a way to win.  They are a very good team.
  12. I agree thanks again Dayton for messing up hunting season.  It has always been a family tradition to talk football on Thanksgiving, but recent years the Broncos fill up most the conversation.  With Andreas it is easy to look at the less than perfect performance games that ended the season, and forget the ones we all praised that got us there.  When you are playing into the third round or later every team that does'nt continue on can probably say, we did not get the best from more than one key position.  I like the tenacity of our Mighty mouse and will enjoy seeing him get better.
