My son got a gamo pellet gun for christmas, he loves it and seems to be hitting the target regularly.
I got my son a Gamo with a scope(and lazer) last year and it's a one pump, shoots 1300 FPS with special pellet or around 1150 with regular.....It's louder than my friends 22 rifle....and my 10 yo gave my friend a shooting lesson at 30 yards.....lol....a very good gun.....I believe I paid around $200ish....
The good thing about his gamo is that grandma bought it.  ;D

I bought him a Remington 870 12 gauge. This was our first year on a lease. He now has a bow, gamo, rem 12 ga, and a browning 30-06 which was passed down to him. I think he is covered for next year.....I hope!

When HJ community decides to get behind the football program, it will happen. Seems to me they made a conscious decision to be a basketball first school sometimes back. Even during our glory basketball years of '02 - '06 lovingly refered to as the "English Years", most Vidorians still yearned for football. We're only putting about 50+ people in the stands for basketball right now but we haven't had any home games. Jeff Mathews and the coaching staff delivered and we put 8000+ on our side of the field for every playoff game. People do laugh when there is talk about us wanting to emulate Nederland but it's the truth; they have a successful athletic program because they have a great athletic director who has been in place for a long time and he cares about the kids and the community. That's the key; good AD and a community that's behind him.

    +1 you are exactly right

Wasn't mean towards you BrenhamFan. I know you'll be here. And we'll see at the end of the season.
after your football prediction I will never doubt Vidor again i just need to be convinced on Vidor after most of the key starters graduated
I know. I'm the same way when it comes to trash talking with anyone no matter who they are. There team has to prove themselves and that's just the way it is. I know we graduated a lot of talent but we did the year before last and so on and so forth. The making of a great program is not having those 2 or 3 great players. Its taking a team full of good players, not great, and making them play with execution and spirit. That is what makes a team and I think Coach Green knows how to do that and he will prove it this year. But that's just my opinion. Good luck to all 20-4A teams.

    GO PIRATES!!
There is no doubt Coach Green knows what to do with his talent in Vidor, they should be in the mix.

HJ just established themselves in this 3rd quarter as clearly the better team out these two teams.

Frankly, not that impressed with this Nederland team.
Maybe its just HJ is that good....
HJ is real good, but not the Nederland team that I was expecting.

Nederland will not beat Central and Ozen. Mark it down!!
Gonna to try that again? Remember a couple years ago you said that about the Ned football team. And then deleted it.  ;)  Wait, it was "Mark my words"

    Nederland will be fine.

Congrats on the nice win HJ.

Why do they march to the initial of their mascot? :-\

    Can't they spell png? 8)
Can't y'all do more than lines, diagonals and the letter 'N'? ;) ;D
HEY!  I happen to LOVE the lines and diagonals.  IMO, that omeba looking stuff that most bands do these days, (Including PNG) is NOT marching.  It's just moving around until you eventually find where you're supposed to be, then stand there and play until the song is over.  I miss the Illinois entry and Texas turn!  I wish more bands MARCHED like Ned and Vidor!
Ouch! Coming from a fellow PNG guy, that has to make bamakid's gut hurt.

Have to admit though, the marching I brings me back to the 70's when I watched my cousin in the Dome and Texas Stadium. Good memories.

I was in high school when all of the football players signed a petition and took it to the school board to make Coach Mathews head coach and AD.  His players love him, win or lose.  I'm going with him for 4A.  He turned Vidor's football program around completely in the time since he became head coach.
Seems like we have been playing Mathews teams forever, how long has he been HC at Vidor?

state was the easiest one for me,the guy at sectionals was a psycho control freak, gave managers a paper with word for word instructions to make line up changes to the press box  & if u didnt do it his way u were reprimanded on the spot  ;D.got to state & the umpire asked me why are u saying all this stuff to the press box all u have to do is tell me #s & spot they are batting, like real baseball.he also denied sum utilitiy bills for  teams cuz he went by payment date not the actual billing date that was in the right time frame.this also didnt occur at district or state.
If it is the guy I am thinking of, he is bit of a CLOSE talker.  :)

Congrats Ned. Is there any chance that Ozen can still make the playoffs this year? From my calculations we would need Vidor to beat Livingston(Ozen owns head to head) next week and a win over lumberton to get in, if I'm not mistakin?? ???
Vidor beating Liv.and Png beating Central and the panthers are in I believe.
I'll be rooting for those Pirates next week then! I think if Ozen can just get in the big dance, we'll represent the school, city, district and the area VERY well!!
After seeing yall tonight, I agree 100%

    Great game and good luck!
