As a proud alumnus, I attended this game... it's no rumor that the two best basketball players in the Jesuit program are 6'4 freshmen twins that had to sit the bench this season due to the out of district UIL rules placed on SJ to keep them from "recruiting" Rasheed Suilimon is only a sophomore who had to sit out last season for the same rules. Jesuit hoops will be back next season in the same position! As for Bush H.S. - the 6'10 kid was not impressive at all, however they had a 6'6/6'7 handling the ball at the end of the game when SJ tried to go on a run, and I'm telling you he made moves that 6'7 dudes are not supposed to make. Bush may give Bellaire a run for their money if they slow down the tempo!

I predict fewer fouls than last game! Can't wait to see these two teams put on a show!

Regardless it was a great look on the last possession from the right wing... those would have been the 3 that mattered most. Great game and atmosphere overall.

KFDM.com is going to show this game in ten minutes... immediately after the 10:00pm news... from what I've heard, the entire game was routed wrong and showed up in black with no audio... [/quote] Damon Heard did an excellent job in the second half... and overall, the entire team was rebounding like their life depended on it! I appreciated the brand of basketball Coach Lee's team played throughout the ENTIRE game... penetrating, getting to the line, ball movement, no hesitation on open shots, if a guy wants to nail 30-foot three-pointers, let him do it, eventually he's going to miss two or three in a row and your team will get back into the game... About those long 3-point attempts... other players on Ozen were throwing up those shots from 25+ and I think if they would have put the ball on the floor and taken it to the lane with a 8-11 point lead through the end of the 2nd quarter instead of jacking up multiple deep shots that were off the mark, this game would have been a little different.

What a game! Nederland down by 6 with 24 seconds left in OT... gets a 3, and a steal on the in-bound, then an AND-1 to tie it and send it to Double OT! Had fun at the game tonight!

BMT SOULJA - High school girls and boys play each other in basketball every Friday night for about 4 months. What's the news? The fact a fight (a single cheap shot) broke out. Sometimes sportsguys don't write the "news teases" before the commercial break before sportscasts. Producers or news anchors do it themselves. I was coming back from the game when the argument of "what to tease" was happening here at Channel 6. Here's a behind the scenes! There could have been a better way to phrase "the tease"... if I was the producer at the time I would have said "next in sports, First place on the line between two cross-town rivals and the situation got a little overheated...who won and who threw in more than the towe after the game" Alex suggested - - "a fight, a marraige proposal, and two excellent basketball games all in one gym... see it all during sports after this break." He was overruled by the producer because that person wanted to tease a fight..."at a game....blah blah" I can go both ways. It is what it is.
