  1. Of course it wouldnt work was really more tongue in cheek than a valid suggestion. However it would be a lot more fair for schools in towns of 2000 to be competing even with different size schools than school in a town of say 6500 competing against schools in towns of say 1.3 or 2.3 million. At least in most cases.
  2. Thats the risk any time you play a game. And i know of situations where there have been non district games and certainly tournaments played during the district seasons. Is this a good solution, no because of the playoffs overlappind the oncoming seasons as well as other issues but it would be one way to curb the long trips during the week. Maybe the district could place the long distance games on friday but odds are that would be a nightmare as well..
  3. Heres a thought, How about we just stop classifying by number of students in the school and classify based on the population of the town or towns the school is located in.
  4. So why don’t they schedule district games like I notice college baseball does on the Friday or Saturday and play a nondistrict on tuesday just start the district season a lot earlier in the year? Of course you would run into the players playing in the football playoff problem.
  5. That was already done....thing is like has been said it comes down to two things1) money for the uil. 2) and travel for teams playing two rounds in district. Quit honestly there are too many teams making the playoffs when that number gets remotely close to 80%. Don’t know if any way it would work out logistically but you need districts with Fairly even numbers of teams then you could base the number of playoff teams on that.
  6. Yeah i would hope somewhere in the middle.
  7. Like to hear how they are going to take care of or schedule this one!
  8. Honestly, no offense to you meant, but Yates can consider it whatever they want. I was at both games and not sure i would call that officiating questionable. Now as far as last years game i had that upset in parenthesis, but it was still a loss that upset me!
  9. Are these guys going to be back?
  10. And that Tiger team was deep in that they should have won state 3 years in a row, only a 3 pt loss in the finals that first year prevented that. And the only reason it wasnt four straight was an “upset” loss to Yates in the regional finals last year. That first state title team had 2 legitimate groups that could start and really not be much difference at all. And they were missing Devon McCAin. Also had 2 or 3 more on the bench who were quite capable of giving quality minutes. Unreal depth on that team. One of my favorite games to watch that year was actually a summer league game where they were split into 2 groups and played each other. Now withn that said i really have no first hand knowledge of your group but will take others opinions that they were capable of beating the Tigers but still think the Tigers would be my favorites.
  11. A lot better performance tonight by the Tigers. Glad to see a solid bounce back performance. And i have togive compliments on the upgrades to the WOS gym it looked and SAT great...
  12. Looks like Lumberton got the pace of game they wanted and fought another good fight on a friday night. Back to back fridays with really tough wins in Ltown for the 2 district leaders.
  13. Tigers take it 84-57.
  14. Tigers empty the bench up 81-51 with 2:41 left
  15. After 3 Tigers up 67-41
  16. Tigers lead 45-26 at the half
