That was copied from Alpha Wolf's post in another thread about girls tournaments going on this weekend.

They are getting their minutes but it's been a total team effort.  For most games she has only had to play her starters the 1st 4 minutes of each quarter and let's the 2nd team get the 2nd half of each quarter.  Building depth and still tinkering with lineups.

intelligent is a stretch.....   Haven't seen Hudson yet this year and might play coldspring in Woodville tournament.    I will make it to Livingston Saturday.   Nice to be off for a Saturday!

To add what was stated about Woodville's big they also had 3 other starters and there first 2 subs coming off the bench out for the entire first quarter due to disciplinary reasons.   Tarkington however is much improved and continues to improve every outing under new head coach Smith.

On paper yes they should. This game looks to have been played AT Tarkington. A lot of times, the energy generated at a HOME gym has a positive effect on the home team, while impeding the visiting team. It also seems to affect less experienced refereeing crews are routinely biased by this influence depending on which side of the ball you're on (lol). Familiarity of opponent can be a factor as well. 
Would really need to see the box scores to know did normal players play normal minutes, was there foul trouble, did someone have to sit out, etc.? If I remember correctly.
I see Tarkington lost to VYPE current Top Ten team Hamshire Fannett 47-42 at H-F, VYPE current Top Ten school Bridge City 38-32 and 48-42, so what that means empirically to me is they play hard and must have competed in these games. So even though Woodville is a really good team with superior talent, every game against an unranked opponent isn't going to be a 100-29 cakewalk. To me a 13 point win on the road is a strong enough statement by itself.

No prob my man. The ladies are playing hard. Had a little team hydration snafu, and it effected the end of the hillsboro game. Made the walmart run and got them hooked up with water and gatorade. They looked a lot better this am.

Yep and the winner plays the winner between Fort Bend Marshall and Stafford for the tournament championship at 4 pm.  The 2 losers play for 3rd place @ 2:45 pm.

WOW!!! That's awesome! 

St.Agnes is #2 in 6A Private Schools and Georgetown is always tough.  Great tournament for  HJ to be in.

As I watched the game live, I agree Alpha, the SheWolves could work on their press break. I know it is sometimes difficult to "practice" press break, since it always seems to be a little different level of intensity in practice, than when the "the lights are on". SheWolves have the size, speed, and strength to handle it, just need a little more in-game experience, imo. They have nice size and strength throughout the roster, and this just in, #15 is really a NICE player, lol. In watching Ozen the last couple seasons, #12 always seems to be making whatever play is needed, be it offense or defense. Coach Brown always has her ladies operating at a high level. Maybe the only thing else you would like to see is a little more outside shooting, to open it up even more for #15?? Just what I saw, of course.
Silsbee ladies played very hard and fast, the overall size and strength of United did seem to have an effect on Silsbee's execution at times. That being said, the teams in 22-4a don't have anything near the roster that United has, except maybe that team in Sour Lake. Of course, that's why they play the games, right? Silsbee too will benefit from the pre-district play, in terms of getting their press break and their press up to speed. Will be fun to watch the district play unfold.
It was really fun to attend the game and feel the energy that was in the gym. Good luck to both programs and hope all the young ladies continue to work hard and have good seasons.

Starts at 5:30 this evening @ Beaumont United HS..

Lumberton down 43-38 after 3rd qtr. The ladies really buckled down and played for each other and with a lot of unselfish play and effort, they got over the hump at the end.
East Chambers ladies played very hard the whole game, there defensive effort was tough the whole game.

As a Basketball Skills trainer i see the lack of fundamentals in every level of basketball from Elementary, M.S. & H.S.! I work with Silsbee's #22 D. Matthews and after 3 months she's increased her steals and went from 10pts. a gm. to 20 plus and her skillset is increasing! She has some things we need to improve but she will show how the training improves her overall gm.! It's not just about playing you have to train to attract those coveted scholarships!
