May have a little to do with the defense they're going up against. Saw give up 48 to Manvel in the first half last year. Of course it was in the "2nd" round of the playoffs....
hahaha I just like to think we are doing really good and im sticking to that ;D
Haha...there's no doubt the Liv O is solid don't get me wrong....was more lamenting the fact that Washington made the second round of the playoffs last year.
Friday night approximately 11:45PM a Beaumont Soulja was arrested after found walking down I-10 wearing a Blue thong with a sequin Eagle dangling from each ear. Witnesses report seeing him at another Central slapping just hours earlier.
Now that right there is just funny!

19-4A vs 20-4A...Who's better and why?
Couple of things here. One, Baytown has a huge stadium, so it's always going to look a little empty unless there are 10,000+ there. The home side of Stallworth probably is as big as any other stadium's entire capacity in the Golden Triangle. 19-4A is closer to Houston. As such, there is a lot more to get into on a Friday night. You're not going to have a community type feel at CE King. How many people that are living in that zone have been there for more than 10 years. Not many I would bet. Baytown and Galena Park are the same way. Just a bunch of new transplants. People trying to move closer to the refineries or to the job base of Houston. I would venture to guess Lumberton and Nederland and the like have families that all know each other, have grown up there for generations, etc. It's just a different demographic of people.
This is quite true but it's absolutely sad. My question to you would be how many of those people actually working in the plants/refineries in Sheldon/GP actually LIVE in those areas? -

Awesome...so NF goes under and gets picked up by another extremely well run school district. Terrible all the things that went on in that district. What happened to that Supe from North Forest anyway?? -
Well I'm hoping next UIL alignment we lose N Forrest and gain Liv so the arse whuppin can continue on a more reg.basis ;) ;D
I would guess that there ends up being a team closer than Livingston that fills that spot. Back on subject though...the part about having the fan support makes the kids play harder...I couldn't agree more. I think it also helps with the number of kids coming out to play in the first place. -
Barbers Hill runs a flexbone with a quarterback and often three running backs. It is old school with a few new wrinkles. We feel our advantage is using our good offensive lineman to push back the defense and get 4-6 yards a carry. On the other hand, Dayton uses a spread quite effectively. Each coach should evaluate his players and use the offense that suites his personnel to their greatest advantage.
Don't write things that make sense....you're going to get respect for BH and we can't have that! Granted the BH offense is effective but it's akin to watching paint dry during high humidity ;) !

Not all true Knightrider.Sat @ stallworth last year to watch LCM play GCM.Outside the band, pep, cheer crowd LCM did not have 50 fans there.
If the game would have been at LC-M the home stands would have been filled. I believe three years ago in the last game of district Dayton played CE King (both undefeated in district) for the championship. CE King didn't have over 200 people in the home stands. Pathetic, just pathetic. Crosby, BH, and Dayton are the only teams that have good home crowds in 19-4A, but in the end, PN-G has more season tickets sold than the homeside stands of those teams. Come to think of it, with the expansion, PN-G's homeside seats more people than the total capacity of Crosby, BH, and almost Dayton.
They didn't have 100 much less 200. If they had 30 fans there I'd be shocked! -
I hate these newfangled computer things that make people more productive. We should just go back to pencil, paper, and sliderule. Heck I even hate the slide rule because it's not "REAL" math!! While we're at it what the heck is it with these pencil things anyway...let's go back to writing in blood on papyrus! Innovation is such bullcrap!!
Here's a comment for ya, Vidor would have beat BC no matter what the weather conditions were, on grass, turf, or asphalt. Go back and look at the stats people......BTW football is played in all types of weather, if you guys want to make excuses for BC maybe they should just forfeit games not played in perfect conditions. Oh and Vidor has as much chance of making the playoffs in this yrs' 20-4A district as any other team.
Agreed. Vidor has heart, is tough, and is well coached.

BrenhamFan..Ya'll eliminated us from the playoffs the same number of times Kingwood Park eliminated Brenham. :D I do agree that we should have went for two with around three minutes left in the game. But I will always disagree wih kicking a 40 yd FG in HS vs. trying to get a yard on 4th down against a team that you have moved the ball up and down field all day against. Maybe at Brenham with all the great soccer players you have, a 40 yard FG is automatic, but most schools, including PNG last year, do not have that ability. I don't know why we didn't go for two, but I do know that Coach Faircloth knows more about football than you and me combined, so I will stick with him. Maybe when he moves on you can apply for the job, since you seem to have the pulse of PNG football.
I never said that I knew more than Faircloth, just that I disagreed with a couple play calls. As for pulling for PNG, that's not going to happen.... (I bleed GREEN) I choose to attend a few games a year cuz I like the atmosphere. I love HS football, and that atmosphere is great. While most PNG fans are obnoxious and rude, I've also met a couple who were rather nice, which whom I have a lot of respect for. You're right, we went home early last year, but i think it's pretty safe to say, that won't be the case this year. Good luck against TC, and the rest of the year. 8)
As long as you don't consider round 2 early ;) -

(2-0) Brenham @ (1-1) Houston Lamar... Predictions?
rollinac replied to BrenhamFan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
After holding LC to 28 Total Yards, I gotta go with Brenham: Brenham 30 Lamar 14
Brenham's D is good no doubt, but I'm going to give Lamar the edge over LC for now. Could be bad at Blue Bell if the second half offense versus LC shows up ;). I say Brenham (-4.5). -
19-4A vs 20-4A...Who's better and why?
rollinac replied to the_dude_abides's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I see it like this....until North Forest, CE King, and GP show up with more than 100 fans in the stands, I'd much rather be in 20-4A. Better athletes - 19....better teams 20. -

This may be one of the best games of the weekend. Get an early lead and force Angleton to throw.
That would have worked in previous years with Diggs at QB but this is a totally different team and offensive attack. New QB TJ Austin has thrown for about 250 yards with 4 Td's and no interceptions. He's on pace to throw for about 1,200 to 1,300 yards, which is a boatload of yards compared to past years. Their more balanced than before, so they'll be tougher to figure out on offense. Defense is what worries me a bit. They did play better against BWood. They gave up some yards between the 20's, but have stiffened up in the redzone, getting 4th down stops or causing turnovers. They did lose one of their LB's to a knee injury in the BWood game and I don't know if he'll play, so all-state LB Webster Jones is going to have to step up to help fill the void. I expect a close game with Angleton pulling away 28-21. ;D
I agree with you that the passing game is better but it's predicated on being able to run the ball and play-action off it. I know what the stats look like but can they pass the ball when you know the pass is coming? The Livingston/Vidor offense they now run tells me not likely. It won't make any difference if the Bronx can't stop the run first.
I'm shocked by this honestly.
They just beat a 4A power in Texas High and you're surprised they're beating 3A Bridge City?? Guess I've been asleep and BC became a powerhouse. -

Weird....go for two on a fake xp to go up by 8 and then kick a pat to go up by 6 instead of going for 2 to make it 7. Don't the coaches carry around one of those little cards on when to go for 2? Strange call...anyway, this is a bit of a surprise final.
