How is LM's RB doing?  I heard he was banged up a little.
Here's where I don't know enough about Aledo...LM has the talent on defense to stop Gray straight up without any gimmicks, not saying they will but....if they do does Aledo have enough other options on offense to still win.  Aledo could completely shut down Tim Wright and still give up 50.
Interesting claim -- that LM will put up 50 on Aledo "even if Wright is shut down."  Especially interesting since I believe the most points LM scored in a game this year was 48. BTW, Aledo and LM have comparable rushing and passing yards per game -- Aledo averages about 30 more rushing yards per game and 30 more total yards per game. Looking forward to seeing Wright haul the rock at Jerry World.  Hope both teams play well and we have an injury free game.  Safe travel to all.
Nice first post....try reading a little better as well.  The point was LM has way more weapons than just Tim Wright.  From what I've seen and heard...Aledo doesn't have the same type weapons outside of Gray.  LM has two players from their front 7 on the all state team....neither of whom I would consider their best defensive player.

  3. Where is Dobbins' name on this list???  Surely that cannot be right?
  4. Haven't seen Aledo live so I'll be guessing.  1.  All the talk about J Gray who looks pretty good on film.  Not sure he'll even be the best rb on the field for this game though. 2.  LM has been able to stop the run without loading the box....can they do that against Aledo?  Don't see this being a blowout for either side.
  5. Will be an interesting game for sure.  LaMarque has really come together.  Will be EXTREMELY tough to run the ball against them especially inside.
  6.
The reasons BH will win district are as follows: 1. BH has more talent returning on both sides of the ball than does Dayton.  ??Dayton losing 1 skill player 2. Dayton is losing almost every key player, except the QB and he is not as good as either BH QB. Again you are ignorant of Dayton's roster 3. Deny is going to be a Div-1 athlete.  Townley is talented enough you could see a two QB system next year. Yawn 4. I expect Townley and/or Deny will play some defense next year in situational circumstances. And if not for Bo Jackson, these would be the 2 best athletes in history! 6. BH's O-Line and D-Line will be bigger than any other district team.  As it pretty much has been since you came into 19-4A...lotta good it's done you 5. Dayton and BH will be the best two teams in district and BH will be better. I'll believe it when I see it...eventually it's gotta happen right??  I mean Crosby did beat Dayton last year. Last but not least, because I have a crystal ball.   ;)
I also noticed you put down : 7.  BH has coach gage and Dayton has Coach Stewart.  Caps are correct on that BTW.
  7.
BH's Kids Who Made All-District 1st Team Offense - Wade Duke Defense - James Bellard 2nd Team Offense - Tyler Newcomb Defense - Jesse Morton
So not like 20-4A where if you start you make all district?
  8.

Looks like yall need a non-bias leavel-headed person to settle this dispute.   Merka is the MVP of 19-4A.  Crosby absolutely sucks without him. Darian was probbaly the best defensive lineman, however the defensive ends at Galena Park deserves to be mentioned. As for Dayton's #1, yeah right.  He is an OK player, but come on, he is not even close to being as valuable as Merka to his team in either rushing or passing.  NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!!     Passing Stats Andrew Vargas Galena Park 158  337  46.88  2,553  23  20   Dominic Merka Crosby 143  306  46.73  2,101  12  10  That's a butt kicking against Dayton! They were the benefitiary of BH's first game under a new offense and defense. 2. They proved all year long any team with speed was better than them. 3. They lost every game they played again good teams and should have lost to Livingston. 4. Finally, they will not win district next year. 5. They are not smart enough to come up with anything but their 54 reason reply. 6.  OH, and the dentist in Dayton make a fortune.  ;D     Wake up, you have been SMOKED by the SMOKIN-BABY and MERKA!   ;D
You missed the fact that Merka's numbers are less because he played Daytons D... how many yards does Jakari get without that excellent blocking from his Wides? To be Fair Jakari can't win MVP because he didn't play enough games, and yard wise didn't do too well. Good back he'll prolly win it next year but stat comparison not even close Merka by a Mile. Those who argue Herrea because of his Completion Percentage etc. Recognize that's because he had 3 very good receivers who turn 2 yard passes into 16 yard passes etc. Also what did he do passing wise vs Crosby? nothing because Crosby closed the short routes and forced any pass over the top.
I'm not going to get into this who should be all district junk but this is dumb.  He did nothing passing wise against Crosby because he was too busy handing off.
  9. Got beat in the trenches.  Couldn't turn the momentum.  Definitely not our best game on offense and LaMarque had something to do with that.  It's been another fun year so until next year....
  10. from what i hear there might not even be a school in dayton nxt year apparently the only thing yall study in dayton is football, to bad TAKS isnt about football. thats all yall could pass. dayton has no credibility as a school and will more than likely get shut down, then all yall bronx better get ready to swap purple for blue or red
Can you do anything else besides laugh at this post??  Yep....they are shutting down the school district over standardized tests.  Of course standardized tests are such a really good measure of the education system.
  11.
I wish I could have played under Coach Stewart, he brought an attitude of winning Dayton had been lacking. As for Coach Hughes, he was soft, a direct opposite of the coach he replaced. From seventh grade we ran, sweated and puked all over everything behind Wilson Jr. High during two a days and was pushed to the points of exhaustion but we would walk through heck for Coach Moore/Coach Crow. I feel that if we would have had the leadership and tenacity that Coach Stewart instills in his players today along with the conditioning and strength Coach Moore demanded, then the 80's could have started the era of winning we enjoy today. I am very thankful that Coach Stewart found our little town to settle in and hope he never leaves. He has built a dynasty, Also I would also love to see the Broncos play against those whom live on the wrong side of the Trinity (Liberty Panthers) once again and renew a rivalry that our kids today have no idea of how fun it was to whip the Panthers. To this day I still will not own anything black and yellow. Go Broncos, great year, we only have 266 days until our first scrimmage.  ;)
Renew it!  Would've said the same thing but college colors were black and gold.
  12. It's cool but I'm really not trying to directly insult anyone and I do INSULT my OWN team way more than I would ever speak ill of someone's team over here? I'm starting to get a sense of how this board is an am learning to not take things so seriously as BRONX has opened my eyes a bit. I'm not above going back and forth with the best of them but I am above being petty and letting things get personal like they did the other day. I'm gonna say this but before I do I MUST SAY I'M NOT criticizing your mods but I've seen members directly criticize players here. You aren't gonna believe this but I'm a moderator on our board and we don't allow players names to be put out there just because folks get angry their team lost. I'm not saying our way is right and yours is wrong but we come from 2 totally different boards so I'm trying to get up to speed because you do actually have people here who know football and I enjoy exchanging information and knowledge. I'll try to be a little more understanding but I'm not gonna stop being blunt nor am I gonna give up my bold text...no hard feelings! Oh yea, I got "fella" from my older Brother and I sometimes use "folks" too but I'm all city, trust me!
Haha...you're right I don't believe you  ;) The bold text is fine...it's only annoying because I have to change the color and underline and Italics...yada yada when I want to single something out.
  13. I don't want anything from any of you nor did I ask for it. Jump right in....that's what I was told how things were over in the SETX when things don't go your way. We stated our position on how we thought 24-4A might all end up as the 4 regional finalists and some of you took your positions as expected. We have 2 of 4 with 1 pending still and that's the way the ball bounces. Now if I say we did pretty good is that gonna hurt your feelings too? I saw your posts prior to the game and didn't agree with them but you don't see me taunting you do you? No and why? Because that's your opinion and just because you were wrong doesn't give me the right to ridicule your opinion . Btw, if you wanna come at me feel free to do so but if you're gonna complain on what I talk about or how long I do it in my posts that have nothing to do with football then you're obviously grasping at straws. I can do this as long as you wanna respond so if you don't want a response then don't jump in heads first FELLA! I guess we'll be above that whole Tit for tat thing huh.  You must be a politician...Mega-church preacher maybe...spiritual father??  I personally enjoy the whole back and forth on here and I find it fun and I don't claim to be "above it". Of course we'll not always agree...and if I was always right I would be in Vegas and not Missouri City.  All I stated was that I thought LM was a year away and that Dayton would win this game.  Woops I missed it.  I just don't act like I'm some kind of "yea I'm football only and I don't engage in tit for tat" and then run around rebuking everyone's comments about anything coming back at you football related or not.  The funny thing it's like you don't see you're making yourself look like a fool with the double-speak.  Judging from that year, 88, puts you in my generation.  Seriously where did you get fella?  Dude, Brah, homey, dawg, partner even....but fella??  As my girl Friogirl or Octfeb said earlier that my feelin's are hurt and there's no doubt.
  14.

You didn't just "state your opinion", you threw the jab about the district and the scoring average. See, you just did it again and you don't realize it. Go listen the game "fella", my last words on the subject. When I say I don't do the tit-for-tat, I actually mean it.   ;)
The scoring average Dayton has is a direct reflection of the opponents they beat up on primarily in district play correct? Doesn't mean Dayton is a bad team....it simply means the easy caliber of opponents they had during district didn't make it any easier for Dayton the further they progressed in the playoffs. How do you think you get prepared for stiffer competition...surely not by running over inferior teams? Do you not think that our fans were happy to see Wheatley, Terry or B-Port on our predistrict schedule and El Campo taken off? Why...because we knew we wouldn't get better by rolling over those teams and avoiding a foe that could actually show our weaknesses. We got beat 3 times in district play and for that reason we got better. I understand that it's not Dayton's fault who's in their district just as it isn't our fault we face HISD in the 2nd round. I'll take the sprinkly thing back because I can see why it might stir the pot but the caliber of Dayton's foes is what it is...nothing more, nothing less. If you can't come to grips with those facts then I can't help that. I, like you no longer wish to discuss this matter any further so we'll agree to disagree. I have no time to be sensitive to your feelings as this is a bulletin boards that opponents discuss things about and if you cant stomach it then I don't know what to tell you? I don't care about people talking smack to me as long as it pertains to football because that's expected but when people turn it personal to the point where a moderator sees fit to remove it then that's crossing the line and that's what I have a problem with. Not that someone might say your team sucks or you're no good. Why, because I know the difference and don't let it get under my skin....you should try it?
Jesus dude....that's three posts where you've talked about just letting it go and not playing tit-for-tat (which frankly is a wrong use because it involves strategy in game theory).  We're all still here....we've all wished you luck and said the better team won today.  Soft and sprinkly here in 19-4A.  That's what we are.... Does anyone really say "fella?"  My wife's hairdresser says that to my 2 year old....
There were some bright spots and Andres I thought played really well most of the game.  LM not afraid to gamble on Defense....dodged bullet after bullet.  O-Line didn't show up either which was a surprise.

  17. Reyes please catch the td when its in your hands :(
  18. Alright I don't believe in superstition and I've gotta go see the boys today....someone else will have to update today.
  19. I've got a great seat already for the game....the one I'm sitting in now as my life has been threatened if I show up at the game tomorrow (that is less than 10 minutes from my house over here)!
  20.
Do you think the 89-90 or the 90-91 Dayton Broncos would have won it all under Coach Stewart? These two teams may have been the most talented teams to come through Dayton, I think. I know some of you may not agree, but these two teams had 22 starters(11 def. & 11 off). 89-90 team: Ivory Durio, Ricky Wells, Doyle Terrel, JB Lofton, George (Skip) Gorman, Freddy Carter, Pat Barret, Barry Pruitt, Reggie Robinson, and the list can go on. 90-91 team:George (Skip) Gorman, Freddy Carter, Pat Barret, Barry Pruitt, Reggie Robinson, Simone Pearson, Kendall Elliot, and alot of the players from the year before. Coach Hughes was ok, but I don't think know where near Coach Stewarts level. This question has been discussed amongst my friends and I alot and I would just like to get other Dayton fans input on this.
Dude...don't forget Matt "the white flash" Ashby!
  21. Ironically, the 2010 offense also resembles the 54-57 scheme except less sophisticated.
  22. Yea I like that hurry up they do.  Anyway...Dayton doesn't "turn the corner" for the big play.  Big play runs are usually off tackle and safety sucks in or off misdirection.  I'm just not seeing the so called "speed" you are seeing.  They may get caught from behind but I guarantee two or three big plays tomorrow.  Nations is also a master at setting plays up.
  23. DCTF picked us to win???  CRAP!!!  Plus Jakari broke his leg in the first quarter of game 9 after missing game 8 so didn't really play after game 7 (boy do I miss that young man however!).
  24.
"i have heard alot about Lamarque and there offense. what about how there defense will match up against herrea, fowler, mcbride, baldwin, and company?" "The 1 player we cant win without." I've said it before. My opinion ain't worth a whole lot, but here it goes. I don't believe we can count on the "big" play against the cougar defense.
Big plays tend to result from a blown coverage, a missed assignment, trickery, a broken tackle or a combination.  Dayton has hit big plays on every team this year.  They will hit one or two in this game as well.
