1. Yea I swear I looked at every horse/cougar picture on the internet that week!
 2. I wonder how this whole QB rotation thing that Manvel does is going to work?  I see they've been doing it all year and it's worked out fairly well.  I just don't know about that approach in the playoffs.  It's hard enough to get one guy into the game and into rhythm in the playoffs (and shake the nerves).  PNG's had more than one game this year where it pretty much came down to who had the ball last.  So say one guy has it rolling for Manvel (7 for example) and the other guy has an off night (8 for example).  Do they change and go with the hot hand?  I could see this game being a shootout and the game being lost by not scoring on 1 or 2 drives.  I'm just not sold on the whole idea of a QB rotation from drive to drive.  If one guy brings something different then the other guy then MAYBE I can see it (Tebow and Leak at Florida, Lee and Jeffersuck at LSU).  Thoughts?
 3.

Here we go. First of all none of these rushers are as good as Leroy Dobbins. No one stops him, some slow him and maybe Dawson can do that. But he will still get 200+ yards, and 2-3 TDs at the least. If Dawson plans to try to stack the box and focus on Dobbins, then Bolfing will pick apart their secondary utilizing one-on-one matchups. Defensively, the Dawson O-line will have fits trying to keep up with the Montgomery defensive line. The bigger the o-line is, the better the Bear D-line does. Manvel, who beat Dawson, matches up similarly with Montgomery's numbers, except Montgomery has more yards offensively and allows less defensively. Dawson hasnt faced a premier back as talented as Dobbins in combination with a steady passing game. Montgomery doesnt turn the ball over often, and their defense forces a lot of turnovers. As often the case is, Dawson hasnt seen a defense built like Montgomery's, they are small, very strong, and extremely fast. The dawson O-line will have no idea how to handle them, and you can't just power over them, it just doesnt work. The defense is very smart and disciplined. Both sides of the ball, Montgomery has the advantage. Plain and simple.
Dawson will not be a pushover reguardless of all the attributes one may see in Montgomery.  Yards per off/def may have alot to do with whom your opponent was during the season.  Dawson has the fastest defense Montgomery has faced.  And these kids can flat out bring it.  I know that Montgomery is the best back they have faced, but T. Wright is a great back... just not as hyped as Dobbins because LaMarque chose to pass the ball last year and take him out the offense for some odd reason (new coach from Dallas).  But with a bad injury he killed the undefeated El Campo Ricebirds.  But it should be a good game because Dawson presents alot more than people know.
I appreciate your support of your team but you need to get out of that area down south every now and again.  Brenham is the fastest defense Montgomery has or will face and frankly defense is not about speed anyway...yes it helps but it is over-rated.  La Marque's back is pretty good....he dances a little too much and doesn't get upfield at times.  Dobbins is on another level and no I'm not from Montgomery nor do I have any rooting interest.
 4. Alright everyone cut the crap with the down the road threads....they are bad bajuju and I refuse to go to them.  I'm confident in the Broncos but I'm also the same guy who hasn't actually gone to a game because we're undefeated when I listen to the game on me computer at home.
 5.

BTW my prediction is.. PNG 45 Manvel 28 Manvel is overrated now...their local newspaper picked em dead last in their district a few weeks before the season kicked off..i'd say they are somewhere in the middle of that and all the hype now. I can tell ya this..no matter what the outcome, they have a BATTLE on their hands cause the hometown boys are all business!!! Manvel better not show up thinking they got this one licked before it starts cause they will get shocked and sent home wondering what just happened. They better show up to play their A game. Scalp Em INDIANS!!!!
I couldnt agree more. I have seen Manvel on film and they have no where near the overall team speed in which Willis had so our Def in my opinion will have a much better game this week. And the blitzs need to come from the DB's that are covering the slot recievers not our LB's that are to slow to get to the QB.
Wow....not sure what film you are watching.  Manvel has team speed to match Willis without a second thought.  Either team can win this game as PNG has a slightly better offense and Manvel the slightly better defense.  This game is a toss up.
 6. Still wondering how Yates stayed so close to La Marque.  First quarter was interesting....no one did anythign but flap their gums at the other team for the first quarter.  Don't think I've ever seen 2 teams do more talking in a game....how could anyone run a play....too busy talkin'.  What are you saying anyway at this point..."Oh yea I got you."  "Come get it then." "It's right here so getchasome." Ridiculous. D tackles and the center not missing too many meals either.  Move pretty good to be that size.
 7. Hey it's deja-vu.....one freshman poster shows up flappin' their meat curtains about something to get everyone rollin'.  How many emails you got smokin' baby? Dayton "Less" athletic Friendswood?
Tully Stadium 1050 Dairy Ashford Houston, Texas 77079 713-251-1220
To be more specific (using Toups Graphics GPS), travel down I-10 to Gessner (exit 753)  Turn left or south on Gessner.  The stadium will be on your left.  Park on the side without the pressbox, which I believe is the east side.  If the weather is sunny, some sunglasses might be advisable, the sun will be setting during the game and the visitor side faces to the west.  My website [Hidden Content]; will be updated this evening with directions and places to go to around the stadium.
Toups Graphics need to re-calibrate it's GPS.  Taking Gessner south off I-10 will put you at Memorial City Mall and the big Memorial Herman Memorial City Hospital.  You could take Gessner down to Memorial Drive and hang a right to Dairy Ashford and hang another right...
I don't have an an answer on my pick yet...once I get a definitive status update on T.Wright I'll post it. And no, by no means am I scared...lol...if we win we win, if we lose we lose. I've watched LM on video and it looks like they have several running backs that can fill in for T. Wright with not to much of a drop off- looks like you use multiple backs in your offensive scheme .

Uhmmm, I wouldn't fully agree with that but Alridge (7.7 yds avg.) is a tough little scamper back with wheels who could have developed much more had he been given the reps. needed to do so. Most of the other backs can play the position but they are larger backs who come in primarily for blocking reasons. T. Wright is the complete package with better than average speed, good vision, ability to cut on a dime and size to run over and through tackles if need be. We do have others that don't typically play that position like Gasway who was a State finalist in the 100m last year could play a role if need be. Only problem there is the experience factor so who really knows?
Hmmmm....sounds familiar.....kinda like a guy named Delasbour  :( :( :(

 11. Dude...you've got another thread you're ignorning....
 12. Thanks....not the place I normally go but works.  What's up with PNGindians.com?
 13. TTT for PNG fans

 15. Been trying to watch the replay of this game all day and I keep getting a "Fatal Error" and a bunch of #%#@$#@#$@#$@#$##@#$@#$ behind it.  Has the site blown up or something?
 16.
Does anybody know if Manvel has the speed of Willis ???
yes

 18. You can somewhat see the hit....definitely looks like it hurt
Yea I'll take Notre Dame over Oregon too....gotta go with the rings....
Last ND ring was '88.  I'm willing to bet LM has won one or 2 in the last 5 years......
Hmmm...La Marque hasn't made the playoffs since 2007....They did win it all in '06 and have had 2 new coaches since.  If they're going to be "back" it's going to be another year or two.
 20.
I'm here to eat my crow.  I picked KP to beat Dayton but I should never underestimate this team.  They have risen to the level they need to be in these playoffs and have exeeded expectations after the slow start.  And I hope you guys continue to knock down the competition.   8) 8)
Slow start maybe...good competition and they stopped fumbling the ball....it's that simple.  They've been at that level all year....especially on defense.
 21.
Manvel beat HW 58-0. Is their defense really THAT good ??? ??? ???
Read the write up under the Manvel versus Washington thread.  You saw Brenham's defense last year...Manvel is a notch or two below that defense.

 23.

Friendswoods going to be a tough test, but i like the way we match up with them.   They have a great offense that is centered around throwing the ball, and a sub par defensive unit. They play more into our strengths then into our weakness.  At least this week, we will have the speed advantage.   Tough to say, got to watch some film on them (if i can get some).  Ive seen them twice this year, but it was at the start of the season.  Good teams tend to change and fix the problems after game 4 or so.
A classic post of the ill-informed.  Friendswood will win by 14 or more.  I love it when fans assume -- I wonder why -- that their teams will be faster or speedier than Friendswood.  Ask your SETX buddies at Dayton or Central about making that kind of assumption, or ask the folks at Dawson, Manvel, and LaMarque.  Truthfully, Humble would be no better than third in district 24-4A.
Haha....you know he's gonna stir it up!  To be fair....it is unfair that Friendswood's teams are always assumed to be "slow."  FW always has good linebackers and 24-4A is the toughest district around.  That being said however all 4 teams are still alive because they played HISD in round 2.  Getting the sweep in round 1 was impressive.  LaMarque beating El Campo was a bit of a shocker.
 24.
It will take a supreme effort from the Bucs, but whats important is EC has earned the right to be where they are now. Not too bad for a team that almost everyone had discounted as a "third place" team (or even worse). EC rolls on!  ;D
Hope so BucFan....be rooting for you guys.
