1. Seems pretty easy to me....look at the number of DI programs in Texas, Florida, and California. Florida Florida State Miami UCF USF FAU FIU Texas Texas Tech TAMU TCU SMU Rice North Texas Baylor Houston You get the drift
 2. Dude you kicked it in in 2010....just didn't know someone was standing on the other side of the door with a firehose at the ready!  ;)
 3.
I do not believe an HISD school has won a championship in Texas high school football since the 1985 Yates Lions ... magnet schools and open boundaries have diluted talent pools so much that no HISD school has enough key players to win it all.  Vince Young and the Madison Marlins came close ... HISD's policies cut both ways ... it's good that students have choices of where to attend school, but those same policies have destroyed neighborhood schools ... football coaches never know which middle school talent will be fed into their systems.  You can find 5 kids to play basketball, but it is much more difficult to find 22 talented players to play football.  Plus, some schools in HISD get more resoruces than others.  Some schools only have 3 or 4 football coaches, whereas others have 9 or 10.  I don't know why some schools like Kashmere or Sam Houston get shortchanged, but they do.  I think the alumni of Jack Yates does a great job of trying to protect their neighborhood schools.  More HISD schools should follow that example. LaMarque 24 Yates 22 Should be a good game.  Yates has some speed on defense.  LaMarque will not get outside of Yates and run away.  But, LaMarque can spread it out and throw it, or bunch it up and run inside.  Yates must avoid turnovers.
Without digressing into a rant and rave about the disgrace that is HISD I'll just say that I agree with you.  I would be surprised if the game was as close as your prediction though.  28-7 I'd guess.
 4. An extremely exciting game!  Liv. players and fans showed a lot of class.  I'd prefer no more playoff meetings....my heart has skipped too many beats from the last two!
 5.

When I lived in Houston part time, the Yates faithful said they're losing 3rd Ward talent to Fort Bend and HISD rezoned Yates and gave some of the 3rd to Lamar.  After all of that, they still haven't missed the playoffs since '79 and either finished first or 2nd most of those years....
Lamar and Yates the only 2 HISD schools that i see ALWAYS in the playoffs past round 1.
Yea because they play HISD in round 1.  Sorry but if an HISD school wins a second round playoff game it is a major upset.

I personally would like nothing more than to kneel on the ground and beg for your mercy.  It is true we hide behind our only two decent players; #31 and #8 and it is also true that us beating Brenham was simply a fluke.  I would like to finish up by saying that when we ineveitably lose we all want to buy season tickets to your next season and we intend to support you in your coming state championship this year. To Be Taken In Complete  Seriousness, The Kingwood Park Panther Footballer P.S. here's a scouting video on our top O-Lineman [Hidden Content];
Dude, that was funny. Great first post! Yo homey, this ain't yo first message board huh.  :D :D Hey wait a minute.......this is smokin baby is disguise ain't it! That vebage style looks awfully familiar. :D :D
You recognize the verbage and signatureage (haha is that a word?) as well.  Complete with the youtube link at the bottom.  What's up smokin' babe....you fooling no one
 7.
All that matters is what you do between now and Saturday.  All this historical stuff is starting to sound like WOS over there in the edge of the piny woods.  Be honest, after what KP did to Brenham, you got to be a bit worried.  Represent 19-4A well Ol'e Purple Ones.......  Your probably our best bet for a 19-4A win this weekend. P.S.  If Dayton wins this weekend, poor Brenhamfan is going to need more tissue.  :'( :'(
Worried....no....
 8.

Can someone from Montgomery tell me why Dobbins has no D-1 offers????The kid can play........
reminds me of what happened to Jacquizz Rodgers... I'm not saying they are the same, but it seems his size is the issue.
Has to be....he's really impressive.
 9.
The 08' defense played a much tougher backfield in the Livingston Lions then what we saw Saturday. Our defense is doing good but it is a different defense than 06'-08'. It's hard to make comparisons from year to year and I know everyone is excited but this is not our best defense in the last 5 years. Statistics for District Play: Year      PF       PA 2006     269      49 2007     252      28 2008     319      71 2009     284      101 2010     353      47 This years defense is good but, when you consider the quality of the opponents in 06'-07' defenses would have held Livingston 2010 to little or nothing.
Stats or whatever may say it's not....I just happen to think it is personally.  2007 was a great defense no doubt about it, statistically the best in the state if I'm not mistaken.  I still believe the defense from '03 or '04 (whichever year we lost to Bay City) was the best one Stewart's had.
 10.
Don't jump on me as a Hater. look to my reasoning. I going to pick KP by 1 so basically think im picking any score. Reasoning is this... whats the MOST dangerous team in the playoffs? A CONFIDENT ONE. WHO IS MORE CONFIDENT THEN KP right now. they could have easily folded muiltiple times to Brenham and didn't. also you look at the Dayton/Brenham efforts from last week and theirs 1 difference... Dayton made the plays to win the game and Brenham didn't i partially think this is because Dayton has a better offense. BUT! KP has a VERY good offense. and a decent defense. i think that Daytons D has thier first major test of the year and gives up 30. (I know how unbelievable) and i think they get 4 TDS but lose a really close one. However i hope Dayton wins. 19-4a needs to keep our reputation up.
Gotta COMPLETELY disagree with you there.  Since Elkins is now the local HS for me I've caught 4 of their games this year(neat how these big school districts play some games on Saturdays).  They were far and away the most talented offense Dayton played this year and held them to 8.  I think part of it was a bad night for them but I don't think anyone else held them under 20.
 11. Dude was a bit racially insensitive...need to go back to that thread and remember some of his BS....if it wasn't removed or deleted.
 12.
Same here. All I can remember is that if we hadn't fumbled, we may have needed 1 more first down or a good punt and a little D and we would have sealed it. I try to forget the bad stuff too. It would have been nice to play Tivy again. Although I didn't mind not having to deal with that Tivy74 guy or whatever his screen name was. He was a piece of work!
I still think that was Tyrone pirating a screen name to get us all worked up.
 13.

There was a guy that was yelling insanely in the background on that last TD catch by Dayton.   :D :D
That is like the first time I have ever done that, just got caught up in the game.  Hope you enjoyed the video, it was truly a great game.
Don't let him lie to you Soulja....since I can no longer find 2008 highlights on the web I'm reviewing my 2008 Friday Night Lights DVD (of which Toups has yet to provide me with my 2009 copy!!).  Funny there's some guy going crazy in the background when AJ strips the receiver from TIVY with about a minute to go and returns it to the 20.  That same guy seems to be going nuts after Cody Green's 24 yard FG gives the Broncos the win as time expires.
 14.
Nah we've been on top of Brenham 7 3/4 qtrs.in the past 2 yrs.I didn't see any kinda of SCARED in the last 50 sec vs.the Lions ;D ;D
Naw man 91 of the last 96 minutes we've played.  Maybe more than that because I remember Herrera fumbled when we were running clock AFTER he'd gotten a first down and I had thought to myself that we'd be able to run the clock out...then he got hit and fumbled :(.  Wasn't it like 2 touchdowns and a safety in the last 4 minutes of the game.  My memory is failing me.
 15.
Kingwood Park 24-21
Soulja tryin' to come on here and start stuff.... Could possibly be a mental factor in this game as well.  In the last two years this team has beat you 48-12 and 41-0.  A lot of this year's players were on those teams.  It's a new year and a different team but half the battle is KNOWING you can beat the other guys.  In process of looking this up I also realized KP won 2 district games last year and not just 1 as I've been saying.  Thanks to no one for correcting me there.
 16.

Even Montgomery's smallest player NG Tyler Anderson was stuffing Merka behind the line of scrimmage.
[Hidden Content] Go to about the 50 seconds mark. Yes I know it was last year, but it is still Merka.
In last year's playoff game, Montgomery's defense had not prepared for Merka running the ball, they did not know that he could run the ball.
Alright dude really....I'll be the first one to disagree with Coogtalk about well pretty much anything.  Your comment must at least make some sense however.  I guess the Texans lost to the Colts because they really weren't expecting that Manning guy to be able to throw the ball like that.
 17. Definitely good luck to the young man.
 18.
I went to the game and Dayton got by with holding all night long. They were very lucky to win the game.
That's just funny there....call it how you want, I'd rather be lucky then sitting at home in the second round.  49-42 ring a bell?
 19.
Sorry Tater your right... Its because its the first time Jacoby has ran like Jackacy all year long! Jacoby had a great game, and to be fair the idea that Montgomery is going to dominate Crosby end to end seems silly. They didn't do it game 1 this year, and their not going to do it now. 56 pts... thats nice question? what was the score at half? question again... How many points did that D give to Crosby prior to the establishment of a back (JACOBY) and a good set of receivers... so MERKA scored 30 on you guys... now what happens when the rest of the team shows up? Records say Montgomery should win this one... to be fair your Marque game is a loss to Brenham and to be honest they aren't as good as we thought they were (apparently GO KP). Squishy district over their minus Brenham. I'd argue Crosby/Dayton/PNG/Nederland/BH/maybe even GP could have gone 1 loss in that district. Central and maybe Dayton would have had a shot at winning it. Listen the cougs gave up 2 big passes against Montgomery that sealed it and opened things up for Montgomery in week 1 the secondary is MUCH improved and the run defense has had trouble with option teams in district, except for Dayton. but tbh Dayton scored most their points on a Wide reciever/rb triple option thing they like to run. Lining up in a singleback with 3 down TE's is a very different offense. MUCH closer than last time and maybe the cougs pull it out. Hoping that Defense shows up again. Its good to see Chuck with a smile on his face he works really hard and i was happy to see him fired up on the sideline this week.
Coogtalk you actually had a pretty good post for once that shows me you do actually pay attention to what you're watching.  Only thing I'll disagree with is the bold....there was no option game going there.  I also agree with Tater that Crosby has not played up to their potential (I believe it was tater).  My gut is telling me that Montgomery wins this game but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Crosby won.  That being said I have to agree with Friogirl as to who I'll be rooting for ;)
 20.

We have owned kp in the past, but still have to bring our a game think we need to mix it up a little this week get the players that brought us here #5,20 & 9 who got the winning td.
I love how #5 fever thinks #5 should see the ball more.  I think that we are saving some plays for #5 and #20 and we will see them utilized when it's big play time.  No reason to show everything to those that are scouting the broncos.  Also, McBride needs the touches against fresh playoff caliber defenses if we want to see the Broncos continue with a balanced (and hard to defend/prepare for) offensive attack. So, what do we know about Kingwood Park other than the fact that they beat Brenham and should not be taken lightly?  Skill positions?  Standout players?  Strengths/Weaknesses?
Definitely can't base anything on the two years we played them in district since they now run a new offense.  The #31 that shows up on all the youtube looks pretty descent but who knows.  They won all of 1 district game in two years and are now in the playoffs.  Whodathunkit.  Obviously they are talented to have beaten Brenham.
 21. Ouch....that'll make you wish you did yoga
 22.

What O does KPark run... can't remember from 08 and 09.
Pro style I formation.
No really.   They run a Spread 70% of the time, they go I only when they are going to run or play action.  They are much improved offensively.  The biggest surprise for me is how improved their defense is over last year...They aren't Dayton, Brenham or Humble good....but they are pretty salty Dunit.
Things have changed then.  My bad then....they "used" to run the pro style I but apparently have now switched to a pseudo-spread.
 23.
even though dayton ran the ball well was surprised they did not pass more due to liv weakness defending pass. do yall usally pass more or do you think were running more to run down clock to keep ball away from liv bacause of the way liv offense can run the clock like they did in the 4th
They take what you give them and usually really quickly.  The point is to put an offense like that down 21 in the first quarter (which they really should've done).
 24.
i know dayton has some running backs coming back next year but is qb coming back
Dayton only has 8 or 9 seniors I believe.
