The difference tonight was the MANVEL D line creating havoc all night not giving AH time to throw. Not gonna get into the should of did this or that saga just gonna say CONGRATS MANVEL and thankyou BRONX players and coaches for another GREAT year of BRONX football.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I always did like your style despite the lopsided smite you have.  ;)
 2.
When I asked the question, I was not really mbeing rhetorical. I just wondered where they would have been going before Manvel opened.  Manvel only opened ive or so years ago right? Dawson opened that same time. Were all these kids zoned to Pearland High before then?
I got where you were coming from. I was questioning the rather tasteless remark after your initial post. Pearland is bursting at the seams with development of growth which in turn has led to new subdivisions hence the overflow of athletes. I always wondered how much of a dynasty the Pearland Oilers could have had they not split the town in half and created Dawson? My guess is they couldn't keep increasing the size fast enough to keep up with the pace of booming population so instead they opted to build new schools in that area instead?

Gotta figure for every 100 students youll have 1 big talented kid. That means Manvel would have about 23 of those athletes and Dayton 14. With good coaching they shoul win most games. Same can be said for LT.
Make that 1 out of 10 if you're in Lamarque  ;D
Care to elaborate? I wonder where you're going with that statement. Feel free to amuse me.

Wow!

Ozen get ready for basketballl next week.
Overrated??? I say Ozen wins by 9 points because LaMarque is...well the New LaMarque.
I'm curious to know which "new La Marque" you're referring to? The one who had their way with your Broncos last year or the one that has a better record than last year and came in second out of 24-4A? Things haven't changed too much for the worse from last year in LM football wise with the exception of younger lines but they aren't too shabby. If anything I'd have to say LM is better off coaching wise this year as opposed to last. Only real drastic change this year is that Manvel is a tougher cookie to crumble as they are a better team with consistency than LM was last year. LM played better than expectations last season and if I were facing the Mavs tonight I'd have more concern with being in the game come the 4th quarter. It's just my opinion but to be quite honest I think you can look forward to the old or new outcome that you suffered at the hands of LM last year but perhaps even worse this go round? Good luck and if your boys prove me wrong I'll gladly tip my hat to your Broncos but I wouldn't count on that scenario playing out....we'll see? Manvel is a better team than LM was last year, only other difference is they have more depth than we had last year.
3 to 0 at half and the Bronco's leaving at least a couple of TD's in the red-zone the second half is far from having your way. If it wasn't for hail-mary passes the game could of gone either way. Holding your star running back ( Tim Wright)to his lowest season average 60 yds rushing or something like that is not having your way. You worry about Ozen and we will worry about Manvel. Capeesh !
What was the score at the end of the game fella? Why over use Tim when your db's were clearly shorter and a bit slower than our receivers? It's called exploiting your opponents weakness and taking advantage of it. Some of you folks amuse the heck out of me with your pathetic excuses as to why you lost a football game. It's mighty funny how we managed to throw hail mary's all season long and made it to the finals isn't it? Furthermore, you might want to know ahead of time that we still have those tall receivers in case we meet up again next week (not gonna happen). That way you can have your defense play prevent to at least tackle our receivers after the catch....rofl! You amuse me and I find it quite sad to not give your opponent credit for beating you outright as we did at games end. Oh yea fella, in LM we play 4 quarters to find out who is the victor, not 1/2 a game. Also, when we lose our games I don't make excuses as to why we lost on bulletin boards. It's disrespectful to the team that beat us fair and square and it doesn't bode well as a representative of my alma mater. Win or lose, tip your hat to your opponent and regroup for next year instead of cheapining your opponents victory with excuses. I've already posted my opinion on who I think who is gonna come out of region 3 and no it's not LM and it certainly isn't Dayton either. I don't make predictions based on hope, slogans, signs, sayings, wishful thinking or any other silly means. Instead I use a teams realistic expectations and leave the homerism out of the equation otherwise I'd be making lame excuses as to why my team failed to make it past the 3rd round consistently more often than not. Got it...maybe, you think so, you're still not sure....face it, you're in denial? I just hope you give Manvel credit should they beat you but I'm not counting on it fella...I wonder why?

Beaumont Ozen has some athletes and they are gellin' right now. I wouldn't count my chickens....just sayin'
I'm a realist and to be quite honest neither team should beat Manvel and as far as D1 goes NO team that comes out of region 3 has a chance of beating Lake Travis.

Haven't seen them play, just speculating...
I'd have to agree with you there as if you can run the ball you can give them fits and if you get up early on them and frustrate them their lack of discipline rears it's ugly head and they begin to make personal fouls. I really believe their inability to stop the run is gonna lead to their demise.

 11. Yikes....perhaps I spoke too soon? Dawson scores a td on first play. LMC fumbles on their 2nd OT offensive play and Dawson recovers for the win.
As usual? I hardly call playing a scrimmage anything to base how you'll do vs Manvel in a real game. It's not that you don't play in 24-4A, more so it's the district you actually play in that doesn't convince me of anything. Slap a meaningless #3 ranking and put Dawson, Manvel or LM against your district and the result would be the same. Maybe you're right and I'm wrong...who really knows at this point? It's all in good fun though and if you do happen to run into Manvel and beat them I'll tip my hat at you. Manvel lit up the scoreboard for 34 points in the second half vs Dawson w/out (entire game) 1/2 of their dual threat QB's who is the better passer of the 2 while limiting Dawson to 7 points.
I could care less about the numeral next to our team name.  IMO, Manvel has a very good offense and an above average defense.  The exact opposite of Brenham.  If we get to see this game, it could very well go either way.  Both are very talented!  Good luck to LaMarque, in the playoffs....  Should be fun!
Same goes out to Brenham but I must admit FW threw a monkey wrench into the equation and TC muddied up the waters with their typical cockiness and undisciplined play that led to 94 yards of penalties which back fired on them. FW threw up 101 themselves which showed up quite vividly at how close this game was & came down to the last play before the final outcome was decided.

 18.
TD Manvel. Manvel leads 24-14!    7:25 left in 3rd. Say hello to your region 3 -D2 champs.
You got your pick correct. No one is gonna beat Manvel in region 3 (either division). They are men amongst boys this year and they can turn it on/off like a light switch. Only way I see Manvel losing is if they beat themselves with turnovers and although they can be a bit undisciplined with their on field antics at times I simply don't see it happening. Most likely they will run back into LM and beat us by at least 14 then will roll Brenham to advance out of Region 3. Only time will truly tell but I'm a realist and that's about as real as it gets IMO.
 19. A bit of a shocker by LM with Coogs opting not to play all-state LB'er #30 Ken Butler or starting running back #2 Tim Wright the entire game. Dawson came screaming back from a 21-6 half-time deficit after LM fumbled the ball 3 times in the 2nd half to knot it up 28 all. LM converts a 4th and goal to take the lead with a bit over 2 minutes left then forces the 2nd of 2 interceptions by Dawson in the 4th to seal the deal. A school with an enrollment of barely 750 if that takes down a school with over 2000 students. Them Coogs played a good ball game considering the circumstances. Bye week off to heal the walking wounded for the playoffs and boy do we need it! If Dawson beats Manvel (highly unlikely) next week then it will force a 3 way tie for the district crown although that's not our primary goal. Texas City hammered Santa Fe to keep their hopes of a showdown for the last playoff spot next week with Friendswood alive.
