1. The pep rally was awesome tonight at Trojan stadium.  It was real cool to see Erik Benastante, Arthur Reece, and others from the 92 team out here tonight.  The Trojans are primed and ready to take the title.
2.

Good article on Coldspring in Chronicle- [Hidden Content]
Nice article, however, the stats for both players are way, way off....Cummings has probably 1,100 more yds and 15 more td's than the article shows and Gilbert is probably less than 200 yds from having 2000 yds rushing for the season (that's with missing the first 3 games of the season due to injury)...His td total is also off... As a former mass communication student I'm always surprised when writers don't double check/verify their work, especially when it comes to figures, etc...Afterall they're putting their name on it and the piece is going to be around forever in some kind of format...It'd also be nice for the kids to be able to show their kids, grandkids, etc. a story on them with the correct info...Just my opinion... That's like a couple weeks ago when a guy from the Cleveland Advocate wrote a story about making history after beating Athens.  He obviously did not know our school history as he wrote that in 1996 we lost to South Lake Carrol in the semi-finals.  He was basically saying that if we beat Wimberley they would make school history which would be inaccurate not to mention the game with South Lake Carrol was in 1992 in the finals.  We actually lost in 96 to Sealy in the semi finals.  If we win tomorrow that will be history. 3. I don't know about y'all but enough with all the talk let's get this on already.  It was cool to hear all the back and forth, but it has been a long week. I'm ready to see this happen. I had multiple dreams last night and in everyone of the the Coldspring Trojans were State Champs.  I know if I'm this excited I can't imagine how it is for the kids.
4. Scooter u completely missed my point, but that is to be expected when u pick teams to lose and u have not seen them play.  I have seen Carthage play and know they are good.  I just think we match up with them and can beat them.  About Monahans I'm sure they are good just didn't impress me with size or athletic ability.  With that said say what u want about my comments.  Make fun of me, but I have been around football awhile and have coached at the high school level.  What's ur background?
5. I don't care if Monahans was 50-0 on the season they still did not look very talented and very small.  Well you will get to see Coldspring this Friday and your mind will be changed.
6. I have a question for Scooter.  Have you even seen Coldspring play this year?  You live in West Texas so I don't know if you have seen them play.  I watched the first half film of Brownwood and Monahans and I was not impresses at all.  Monahans really did not have much with the exception of the running back ran hard and the quarterback was ok.  They had no secondary.  The offensive line had to be one of the smallest I have seen.  I would like to see some of the recent game against Carthage so I can make a better judgement.  I still believe deep down we can beat Carthage.
7. In 1992 we made it to the state title game behind the emotion of playing for our beloved coach Ed Peveto.  We lost to a South Lake Carrol team that probably should have never been in 3A.  I was in seventh grade at that time.  I dreamed that one day I could help Coldspring bring a title home.  In 1996 we made it to the Semi-Finals against Sealy amidst their record run of titles.  We lost that day, but we should have won.  I was a Junior on that team.  Here we are present day.  I know deep in my heart this is the Trojans turn to bring a title home to our little spot by the lake north of Houston.  I know Carthage is good and deserves all the respect of a two time defending champ.  I firmly believe though we will unseat them as champions and place ourselves in the history books as the 2010 class 3A DivisionII State Champions.  As for those that thought Brownwood and Carthage this week was the true state title game,  I would have to disagree.  The true title game will be next Friday between Coldspring and Carthage.
8. If u can't get out of Abilene I would hit up the Mart/Canadian game.  It should be a good one.  From my memory those two have met numerous times in the playoffs.  Not much of a 6 man football guy anyway though.
9. This is gonna be one of the top playoff games in the State.  This could have easily been a State championship game.  IMO whoever wins this one probably takes the title.  Good luck to both schools.
10.
Here an article I found about the Wimberley QB. [Hidden Content]
I read this article it was very interesting.  I was shocked he was a big time linebacker for Aledo.  I'm sure he don't mind lowering his head and letting someone have it.  I think this going to be a great game.  I hope we can make it to Dallas so I can go watch.  I have work during this one.  I plan to go watch practice tomorrow though to see how focused we are.
11. I'm not sure if any of you have noticed, but last night watching the Big 12 championship game I noticed that Cody Cummings and Rex Burkhead are a lot alike.  Their running styles are very much.  I have seen Burkhead run in games before, but last night it was really evident.  They are both very hard nosed runners.
12. wow that is a crazy amount of people for that game.  that many probably don't even show up for Rice games.
13. I gotta take Carthage in this one.  You just can't deny the experience that Carthage has at this level.  Not denying Brownwood is good, but Carthage has been here before.  I think this is gonna be a phenominal game just like the Coldspring/Wimberley game.
14. I think they should have personaly played this one in College Station at Kyle Field
15. I don't know much about Wimberley, but I know Coldspring and Coach Barbay and the Trojans will be ready.  The defense flies around and the offense is kicking tail even without passing the ball.  I think we can take this one.
16. Wow the defense looked lights out tonight.  Offense looked real good in the first with the exception of the pick.  After that offensively we kinda struggled.  I can't say enough about the defense though.
17. Can't wait for the game.  I felt like last week we could win because of how the first meeting went and really felt from that we could beat Kirbyville.  This week I'm really anxious because I don't know much about Athens.  I know they are good to make it this far.  Can't wait for kickoff though to get these butterflies out.  Go Trojans!
18. Coldspring has not been this far since '96 when we mad it to the Semi-Finals against Sealy.  I'm hoping they can go much further and win it all.  Should be a good one in Huntsville tomorrow.  I think we can win this one and move on.  I look forward to seeing the town locked down and everyone at the game.  Last person out of town turn the lights off!
19. Anyone got any stats on Athens and teams they played.  I truly believe theTrojans win this one with the running game and defense.
20. Kirbyville and WOS meet up in Beaumont for most anticpated rematch of the year.  Only to find that no one is their and the real game that matters is over in Huntsville between Coldspring and Brookshire Royal.
21. I don't believe Coldspring ran their full array of plays either. From what I rememeber in highschool that is how most teams do it though.  We started the season off with a very basic package and developed from their.  By the time the playoffs came around and even deep in the playoffs the playbook kept growing ans was rather large.  I'm pretty sure this is about the same way it has been for both teams. Coldspring has some very big self inflicted mistakes in that first game that really prevented us from winning the game.  In my opinion we should have won that game.  This is going to be a very tough game and I think we will have fixed our mistakes and win this one 22-20.
22. I'm glad to see Montgomery having some success.  They have not had much in recent years.  Good luck to the Bears.
23. I'm just sad I won't be there to watch this game.  I think the Trojans take it 22-20.  I'm hoping for this so I can go watch the next week.  Good luck to both teams I hope for no injuries and a good clean game.
