1. Crockett tries a fake punt from the 50 and fails to convert.  Coldspring takes it from there and scores.  Two point conversion good.  Trojans lead 20-14 with 6:10 remaining in the first half.
2. Crockett was driving at the Trojan 40.  Coldspring picks it off and goes 60 yards for the score.  Missed xtra point score 14-12 Crockett.
3. Crockett on top of Coldspring 14-6 with 4:10 left in first quarter.  Crockett scores on second play of game then scores a defensive touchdown to go up 14-0.  Coldspring finally responds with a touchdown converting two 4th downs along the way.
4. I will be at this game and will give updates to all the Trojan faithful.

6. For the idiot that said Kirbyville crushed Coldspring it sure looked looked like they were offsides on that defensive touchdown they scored so therefore it would have only been 14-6 and we should have scored a few more times.  So don't get on here and say crap like cushed because it was not like that it was close until the end. Every yard was a battle for each team.
7. Both defenses really played their heart out in this one.  Coldspring really had some shots at winning with a couple of drives stalling inside the Kirbyville 20 yard line.  I was really impressed with Kirbyville's speed on the edges to contain Trojans.  Kirbyville played better tonight and desrvedly won a tough game.  Coldspring has to get better at blocking at the point of attack with their big line.  It was a great game, wish Coldspring could have won, but it was a nice early season test for the Trojans who have a fairly difficult pre-district schedule. Congratulations to Kirbyville on a nice win, and good luck the rest of the way hopefully we can meet up again sometime around November.
8. Kirbyville responds with a touchdown of their own missed extra point score is knotted at 6 with 3:35 left in first quarter
9. Touchdown Trojans extra point no good. 6-0 Trojans w 5:51 to go in first quarter
10. Coldspring will face Lorena Friday at 7:30pm at A&M Consolidated stadium This should be a very good one.  Hopefully my Trojans can pull off another one.
11. I just watched this this show on fox sports and they had three writers from Dallas on the show.  These guys were giving analysis on games and opinions on who was gonna win.  I cannot believe this.  Not one of these guys looked like they ever played a down of football.  How in the heck could they know anything about high school football in Texas or how a team plays.  This is just completely ridiculous some of the people that cover high school football.  They now just statistics nothing about football.  My question is what do all of you think?
12.
As 17-18 year old young men , most dont realize how fleeting the moment truly is. When its over it leaves a void that only time can fill. Good luck to all, and remember leave it all on the field!!!!!!
This very true.  The only feeling I could find that matched playing was coaching.  I'm very excited for these kids.  I think I actually played plays in my head last night when I was sleeping.  I could coach back in Arizona, but not here in Texas.  I need finish my degree so I can stand on the sideline again.  What a feeling that is.  Good luck to all the area teams tonight.  May your dreams come true!
13. Tonight many kids in Texas are going to bed thinking of tomorrow.  What they may have for breakfast or lunch.  What they are gonna do at school.  Many kids though are dreaming of playoff game.  Hoping they have what it takes to win and move closer to that state title.  Going over offensive and defensive plays in their heads.  Visualizing themselves making the big plays or big block or scoring the winning touchdown.  Hoping when the clock reads 0 in the fourth quarter their team is victorious.  Hoping that bus ride home is full of celebrating and not cold quiet darkness contemplating what went wrong.  Most of all hoping to have to show up on Saturday morning to start preparing for the next opponent.  I know as a former Texas high school football player many of these same thoughts ran through my mind.  So good luck to all the young men with Texas high school football dreams tonight.  I will be out in Conroe tomorrow hoping my Trojans can get another win against Rockdale to be able to dream another week!
14. I have taken a look at some of Rockdale's stuff.  They have some pretty big guys on the roster.  I looked at the games they played also and they came in third place in their district.  I really believe Coldspring can take this one.  I think the speed will once again be a big factor as it was in the W-OS game.  I think by two touchdowns would be a pretty good prediction.  I really hate to make a prediction though because the kids have to perform and I don't want to jinx that.  No doubt it will b a very good game.
15.
Silsbee....could you guys please just win, win, win, win, etc. (is that enough to win state)?  Second, could Rockdale beat Coldspring and Caldwell beat Cleveland, so their "fans" will go away and stop this euphoric fixation on how THIS YEAR 22-AAA beat ALMOST everyone except SILSBEE...oops, did you forget about that last little hurdle coming out of 21-AAA? We take comfort in hoping that your players are a wee-bit more focused on this week's games than on last weeks wins.  I don't know exactly what it will take for us to say to you...we've conceded that COLDSPRING won the game.  You played smarter than we did.  You WON the game.  Wish we could loan you a little couthe and suave', but I guess that just comes naturally with more wins, winning seasons, and playoff runs.  Keep working and you'll get there, but we do respect you for what you have accomplished...you beat us.  Cleveland beat BC.  Our seasons are over and we are now looking forward to next season...you just concentrate on Friday!!!
I love how most of the WOS people can talk all kinds of smack when their team beats someone.  When someone beats them they start crying and wants everyone to stop talking about it.  I refuse to stop talking about Coldspring beating WOS.  It was a big win for us.  Just as it would have been had WOS beat Coldspring.  So stang fans just take your licks as you would have given it to us had we lost as in years past.
16. I get tired of hearing all the lame WOS fans.  They always think WOS is gonna win the state title.  Since they came back down to 3A they have not won anything.  I doubt they could get close to Carthage.  I'm a former Trojan and really believe the Trojans can get this one this year if they play good football and eliminate mistakes.  I sure hope they do anyway cause I'm tired of hearing WOS this and WOS that.  It really gets old on this discussion board.  I usually just watch.  This time I had to comment.  If you get past us good luck against Rockdale.  At least stop bad mouthing 22-3A we used to run this area in the 90's.
17. I really believe Coldspring gets this one. One of the top teams in east Tx this season. Watch out 22-3A.
18. This game should have been a blowout and not this close. Fumbles kept Crockett in this one. Coldspring had the ball at the one yard line and fumbled in the first quarter. Then had it inside the ten in the second quarter. With all the mistakes it was only 19-6 at the half. If Coldspring eliminates the fumbles they are gonna be tough to beat. Crockett is a playoff caliber team and Coldspring hung in their and came back to win. They showed some real heart being down 10 with 5 minutes to go.
19. I did not say anything about having confidence in your team that they should win. My thing is that you guys are always talking about all these wins and district titles which are great. The district you play in though is far from the best in the entire state. Which I'm sure will be argued about here. I'm not saying that WO-S is not a good team, but it does get sickening to hear people say they are just going to roll Coldspring by four scores. I think this will happen if the same mistakes are made that were made in last years game. Also I believe Fitzhenry was out of that game against WO-S last year with an injury. I wish I were going to be home to go to this game. I think it will be a really good one.
20. I'm kinda curious how many state titles WOS has won. I mean all the people from down their act like they have won all these state titles and all. That they rule Texas high school football or something. I'm a Coldspring alum and I really hope they lay one to you guys to put you in your place. I'm really getting tired of hearing about WOS. Last year they were supposed to win the title, but really the big thing was to get past Giddings which was on a down year. Did that then lost. So I hope my Trojan friends can pull this one out and take all you lovers down one.
21. according to the Corrigan-Camden Independent School district website the game between Corrigan and Coldspring for Thurs at 7:30 has been cancelled due to Ike. My prayers are with you all and hope everyone is safe.
22. This should be a very good football game between a 2A team and 3A team that used to battle in the same district. I'm interested in everyone's outlook on this game. I think Coldspring pulls this one out in a close game. I think their will be lots of points scored.
23. I don't know if this question is posed to show that we cannot get out of the past and start living in the future. I mean we hold on to High school football from our perspective alma mater's as in some way one of the coaches is going to yell up at us to go in the game. I really go to the games just see how things are going, but if I cannot make it no sweat off my back. I don't break my back to get to game. I like to go see other schools play also. As a future Coach I like to go see what other offensive and defensive strategies are out their. I also love the fact that I live in Texas where even if it is some bad teams the game is usually competitive. Everyone here knows that Texas is top of the line for High school football and many small towns whether win or lose the town lives to be their on Friday Nights. Some the bigger cities this may not be as true. Don't get me wrong we should all go support our alma mater's, but I think part of it is to re-live our past glories of playing the game.
24. Being that you are talking about a team outside of the Golden Triangle. I will have to include the Sealy Tiger's from "Title Town USA". Best I recall back in the late 1990's they put together a 64-0 run and claimed 4 consecutive State Titles. The discussions does not mention Golden Triangle, but I will say Sealy had one of the best runs in the State in the late 90's we really should have beaten them in that semi-final game at the dome. Then it would have only been three titles.
25. 96 Coldspring Trojans 36.4pf vs. 11.4pa 12-2 record that year we also faced LaMarque who was the the 4A state champions back to back and Magnolia and Lumberton in 4A. In the playoffs we played the likes of Newton, Sealy, Cameron, Center, and La Grange. This has to be ranked right their amongst some of the best teams in the area. 92 Trojan Team was very good also with 36.4pf vs 14.6pa 14-2 record. This team played the likes of Center, Waco Robinson, Columbus, Bellville, Marble Falls, and South Lake Carrol. The only loss in the playoffs was in the state title game to Carrol who should have been in 4A. Columbus had the Schobel brothers who are now pretty good players in the NFL. I think this team also needs to be put in their with the best in the area as well.
