That staff member that he had that was pretty good with the QB's is at United but THEY won't give him the same authority that TF gave him...

I know who you are talking about and you are correct.

I also know that if he wouldn't have gone with TF to Woodville, the one that was going to go is also a heck of a QB developer.

It's a matchup of contrasting styles for sure.  Huntington wants to throw it around, but struggles.  They will eventually just line up and try and run over you.  We on the other hand, want to go fast and spread you out.  With our new QB we have explosiveness at the position we have not had in a long time.  The weather will be the ultimate equalizer tonight.  Hopefully we can capitalize early before the conditions really deteriorate.

It's going to be wet for sure.  Luckily we wear different colored helmets so we can notice who is who!  Huntington is looking better on film than I have seen them in quite some time.  As a coach I will not make a game prediction obviously, but we will just have to agree to disagree on your score prediction.  However, the turnover count in the mud is extremely critical tonight!

Who's yalls QB? If you are counting on speed to win this game then you might be in trouble, if the field is anything like it was when Tatum played there last year then look out. Glad to hear that Huntington is looking better, that would be a feel good story for that team to finally have some success.

It was a nice win and hopefully can build a little confidence. Huffman actually flew to the football today and ran the ball extremely well. Hats off to Worthing and wish them luck! Them dudes are extremely fast and athletic but no coaching. I wish I could take that group of kids and compete!

Congratulations to Huffman, good win. Hopefully it will get you on the right track.

I'm disappointed!!! No one cares that I get to bring my guys down to Huntington tonight to play??? I figured there would be some talk about this game on here!!!

All joking aside, I'm glad the weather has remained at least decent enough for us to get to play tonight on that lovely grass field tonight in our brand new road whites!!!

    Good luck to everyone tonight!

They won't be white for long. This is an interesting match up.

  5. Larger Coaching staffs at the bigger schools, so many new schools opening up, not near as many people going into the profession and those that are tend to stay at the college level and go the GA route in hopes of hitting the coaching $$$$ jackpot that is Division I coaching. Numerous factors have led to the shortage in our profession and the small schools that can't pay are the ones getting hit the hardest.

And that visit was greatly appreciated.

I was taken off my last IV today and could possibly have my last tube out tomorrow!  Even got up and walked outside of the room starting yesterday.  And they are talking about the end game (DISCHARGE).  Nothing definite for now but hopeful1

Hope everything is still positive and moving forward. God Bless you and prayers for a full recovery!!

If only we had someone at each school that counts how many sacks these guys give up or how many pancakes they get....

I agree with you and most O-Line coaches keep this information, it's just not made public. Recruiters aren't looking at stats anyways. They are looking at size first, feet second, strength third and overall domination on film. Don't sleep on Andrew Culpeper in Huntington, this dude is a beast. He is on Baylor's radar for sure and soon to be many others.

I doubt Livingston lost coaches due to leadership skills and more to the tune of terrible pay they have for teachers and coaches.

Livingston is no ones dream job in the first place. But you can bet your tales that if you dont pay the assistants well it doesn’t matter how good of a coach the head man is.

I have family that are coaches and the quality coaches are not going to go make 55,000 in Livingston when they can goto say Splendora and make 65,000.

You obviously know ZERO about the staffs that Randy Rowe was able to assemble there. The reason 90% of the coaches left after Broussard's first season was because he was a terrible leader.

He may be a good may with good intentions, but he was not a a good leader of coaches.

Also, “D1 Talent” is relative to the level of competition faced. Newton’s kids always look great playing against 3A schools I’ve never heard of, but I remain convinced that a lot of Newton’s “stars” wouldn’t look so talented if they ever played against Manvel and Lake Travis. That’s not a knock, but a realistic fact. A kid that plays for Newton can look fantastic, but would look totally unremarkable if instead he suited up for West Brook. I mean, a decent talent will look like a future nfl prospect when they face inferior competition. It’s unfortunate, but it might get expectations set a little too high some times

This is the answer to the Question. They have an abundance of talent, compared to the competition they face on a weeklt basis.

Newton ran up against an Arp team two years ago that had just as much talent and were beaten soundly.
