Make no mistake about it the defense played better than the offense. The offense was basically non existent until Ned put in subs Dayton probably had around 60 yds offense the second half. But when your defense gives up over 300 yds on the ground and that's the bright spot I would say it doesn't look good.

I was also told besides pike and orebo no one else on defense likes to tackle.

Thanks for the stats sir. Take away Santees 60+ yds Dayton got at the end of the game against Ned's backups and probably would of had around 20 yds rushing. I thought Ned's coach did a great job the second half going completely away from the pass. If he would have done that the first half I think Ned could have had 400 yds on the ground. Any way congrats and thanks again for the stats.

After looking at the stat line it seems dayton defense played well enough to not be over looked.  They gave the football to the offense 3 times in the first half with no result.  I spoke with a buddy from dayton and they said defense played hard

More disappointed in hometown Friendswood than Dayton.Long passes were more the recievers out muscling the DBs.No noticeable speed for a 6A team. You can see a difference in Dayton's offense but if they plan on running #22 like they did tonight, pray he stays healthy.I left with about 4 minutes left and #10 Nail ? & # 22 Santee ? were in on every offensive play.As always Dayton will hit you.The defensive line is small.Had one lineman go down, hope he is OK ! #21 put some pressure on the QB,but I could too if no one blocked me.Friendswood seem to straighten that out the second half.Dayton moved the ball when they went to a hurried up offense.Good Coaching Move ! Dayton's passing game needs to stretch the field,Nail definetly has the arm.I only remember one throw over 15 yards.

I saw #21 do more than pressure the qb.  I saw him blow up the counter 3 or 4 times and lay serious wood whenever he got the chance.  Is he a returning starter from last year?

Well thanks for the compliments, I have watched most of this team play together since they were 9&10, so this is a special group to me and a lot of others and after last years varsity finish, we really need this group.

Our district is tough.  I love high school football.  Good luck on the season.  Except when you play the hill

Meanwhile neighbors are gathering the tar and feathers, jk. After last year I believe the Broncos are gonna use what works so if them two have chemistry, expect it. We do have a tough district with all the teams improving like they have, even the hill. So good luck to all teams as they prepare for another great competition and I don't think I want to jump to make to many predictions just yet.

Well I was at the game last year and watched him and nail connect.  Then I watched him help out on defense.  We didn't expect him to be that aggressive.

He is still playing and doing well, he played basketball of course, then pitched for the baseball team now back to the grid iron.

Oh really?  Well if Nail and Orebo can figure it out they are going to give teams fits.  I love the hill, but good football is good football and after watching this group last year they have a chance to be special
