I’m not sure either.  I was told (and I’m sure Abe or one of the other Bulldog faithful can verify), that Hefner was the first freshman to start as a freshman out of the gate.  He impressed me during the season, and even more so during the summer.  Good kid, good family, and obviously exceedingly bright.

I don’t know how much he will continue to grow but every inch at this point is huge.  He already has good heighth for a guard.  He continues to work and improve, he will stock pile offers with the visibility he will have.

Good news for him is the Aggies and Kennedy have already offered.  I don’t know what his ultimate goal is in terms of college but I know he already has a sibling in Aggieland.  Pretty nice to have that in your pocket before you take a single shot as a sophomore.  But knowing the kid, I think we are only scratching the surface at how good he can be.

I agree kids develop at different rates and stages.  Orebo from Dayton never picked a basketball up until November of last year.  He played for a great AAU orginazition and began to take off

Most Dayton fans know we are no where near being even competitive at this point. At first I used the old we don't have any talent logic. So I went back to 2011 and googled Dayton Tx football schedule. The reason I used 2011 is because it was Stewart's first year gone so most all of the kids had been coached by him. Look at what Dayton accomplished that year playing non district opponents that were loaded for the most part. After you look at what they accomplished that year ask me how many D1 players they had. Heck ask me how many kids even got an opportunity to play at a small school. I will tell you the D1 talent rhymes with hero. Also keep in mind that year was accomplished with a 5"7 140lb qb who had a great high school career because he was coached way up and wasn't surprised at what was being thrown at him. Our rb while a good high school player was 5"6 maybe 150 with average speed but Dayton actually knew how to block then and he had some great games for Dayton. Anyway I think most people will be shocked at the caliber of opponents Dayton beat with just good high school players.

No D1 talent.  I was told that Orebo and Suptin are being heavily recruited by very legitimate D1 schools right now

I haven’t seen him pitch but was told he can bring it.  He looks about 6-7 so that along with the southpaw aspect makes him a valuable commodity.  But I will say he is very impressive on the hardwood too.  Good feet, soft hands, and his intelligence shows.  Will be an asset to whoever winds up with him at either sport.

Last year was his first year ever to play basketball.  Always played football and baseball.  Found that out from his coach

He’s a gifted kid.  With his height as a lefty pitcher, I figured he would go baseball.  But definitely a D1 talent in hoops as well.  Great pickup by Sam

Was told more offers have come in.  After you spoke of him I did some research on him.  He is also top notch in the classroom.  I watched some of his Hudl tape.  If he gets to 220 it's going to be hell for Sam to keep him

Hope not. Sam Houston BB got lucky with an early commitment from a very smart kkd with a huge upside. Ultimately it will be up to him and his parents but for me he would be working on that round ball game.

It may just be talk.  My buddy told me about it last night.

First off great night anytime I get to watch a high school football game with my family. Still can't say enough about how nice that stadium is either. Now onto the game. Starting last year Dayton has a knack of losing very winnable games. I believe they lost 3 games by 7 or less last year and this year they continue to find ways to lose. I'm not going to go through everything that they could have done differently in order to get the W because my fingers would get tired.  Porter literally tried their hardest to give us that game. I will just leave it there and hope for the kids they have a good showing Friday.

I was told that Dayton is full of injuries.   Could that be part of the problem

There was another player who hasn't been playing, but heard he would be able to play in this game. Anyone know who it is? Or is this just a rumor from the stands?

I only knew of orebo being hurt.  My pal in dayton is friends with his father so I've been trying to get some info.  I know that he is starting to get some attention in football from some D-1 schools.  I guess us on the hill can't have all the D-1 talent

All I know is we gonna show up Friday night and support these Broncos and of course we want to see the Broncos victorious, which there is a 50% chance the Eagles will win but guess what, there is that 50% chance the Broncos will win. I like our chances, I'm going with the 2017 Dayton Broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Is orebo coming back?

Also, look out for Dayton.  That big lefty pitcher Orebo can also really hoop.  He might be the best player in that district this year.

I keep hearing his name.  Said he had a really good summer and is getting good in a hurry.  Last year was his first year to play basketball
