Hey bud great game tonight.  I was looking forward to watching a great game don't ruin it by talking bad about RJ Orebo. He had a good game.  He put constant pressure on shug.  When they ran his way he made the play.  They ran away from him .  So why the joke

It's so heartbreaking seeing them defeated every single game. I love all those kids pooring their hearts out every Friday night. My heart says Broncos. But my head says PNG. Either way PURPLE wins.... GO BRONCOS!

Aj has played extremely well this year.  From the 3 games I've seen Dayton play the edge defense is good.  The middle is soft and so is the secondary.  Orebo and pike have looked good on defense.  My buddy called me after the Nederland game and he was completely disgusted.  He seems to think there is more to Dayton losing than "not having the talent!" He knows the kids personally some of these kids tell stories that if they got out it would be a mess. Going to be an interesting off season.  I hope Dayton can turn it around but I don't see it happening.  I pray all kids go injury free for the remainder of the year.

Dayton has some big kids and fast ones. I don’t get why they haven’t won a game yet. They can be good

I didn't realize they played Santee both ways.  I just don't think that's a good idea in close games. At the end, when games are close, you need your playmakers fresh.  Whether it be for offense or defense.

The games I've been to Santee helps on the other side alot.  Teams run away from Orebo.  They go away or middle.  Will be a great game Friday.

Defense definitely got tired.  Not a lot of depth. If our offense can keep us on the field and defense off we can stay in games.  4 sophomores starting or playing in key positions on offense so they have some growing to do.

But yes you are correct on the scoring aspect of it.

GCM quarterback waa running for his life.  Number 44 for Dayton lived in the backfield.

I was talking to a guy in our stands about Santee. I didn’t think I saw him out there. I agree with you on the dropped passes. One kid in particular had a bunch. Dayton looked a lot better than what I saw last year.

Thanks good luck to the Broncos as well. Clean up the dropped passes and have Santee available to take some of the load off the passing game and the Broncos will be competitive.

You did miss one of the pick six’s though.

I was told Daytona defense only gave up one score in live period.  14 points on 2 pick six's.  Was also told bronco defense is looking better.  The 2 kids on defense pike and Orebo have grown a little bit and flying to the ball.  Looks like Dayton may surprise a few people this year

Yes. I’m looking forward to that one more then i was the HJ scrimmage. We will get a better feel for where we are at against dayton.

I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who is a coach at New Caney. His words exactly "do not play with Orebo too much!!"  "Run the option at him Dayton makes him slow play it but he is alot bigger than last year and he will hit you.  Run away from him!"

What do you consider being heavily recruited. I don't even see a 247 page for either. They usually create one for you if you're even on enough FCS team's radar. I do see Orebo is committed to Sam Houston as a power forward for basketball though.

You are right Cougar 14.2!!! What was I thinking.  Rumors, Rumors, Rumors

I think Dayton will be the "dark horse" in the new district this season. We return the best of our skill players on offense and on defense we have a backfield that will literally lay the wood on you - I heard there will be a defensive coach change so hoping for improvement. We were competitive last season-- (except for Crosby and even had them down two TD's in the 1st quarter )  came up short in a lot of games just by not playing smart football. We should of beat the Hill but a last second missed field goal spoiled that.  We had a ton of injuries last year  and I know thats part of football . Hoping our HC in his 3rd season has figured somethings out and finds a acorn this year.

I agree.  I heard Dayton had a lot of injuries.  Defense will be solid with Zach pike and rj orebo floating around both of which are being heavily recruited.  Orebo is being courted by a few major D1 programs.  Looking forward to next season
