While I am in-between trips to San Antonio, I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry

Christmas and let you know what has been going on.

My wife has been in SA nearly three months now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation

treatments for cancer.  The 18th was suppose to be a big day for us, but it turns out

that the treatments have not done what the doctors wanted, so she will continue them

another 2 weeks, then be reevaluated.  They are stopping the chemo and going on with

the radiation treatments.  She has to have 7 more visits, but with the holidays, that will

take 2 weeks.

Kelly Burns will be attending the University of Texas at Tyler and playing softball there. I and her G.T. Shocker family want to congratulate her on this achievement. Kelly has been very dedicated to our team and made the necessary sacrifices to be able to live her dream of playing college softball at a great school. A great kid who deserves to be successfull. GREAT JOB

I know Cheater said not to but, see Rule 10-8.B:

"Play will be suspended whenever the plate umpire leaves the umpires position to brush the plate or to perform other duties not directly connected with the calling of plays."

See also Rule 10-1:

"The plate umpire shall have the authority to make decisions on any situations not specifically covered in the rules."

Also, I checked the Scoring section of the rule book and nowhere does it mention E-U.

Yeah, I guess I'll have quit discriminating against the men and start using the term "pitcher's parents" instead of "pitcher's dads". 

Had a good weekend at SK.  Pretty good ball being played.  I did, however, have to relieve a couple "gentlemen" of their coaching duties.  Disappointing at an event like this, but not surprising.

I came close to tossing a catcher.  Kept freezing the ball, turning and asking where it was.  Team was from

NM.

Probably working some 8U somewhere.  The coaches are freaks, but you gotta love the kids.

I will be at the first LSU tournament again this year.  I should be a good one with A&M and Ohio State coming down.  Do me a favor and have blt22 stand with you down past the dugout.  She watches the corners way too close form behing me.

Out of control played in the 18U gold div. Not bad for a team that has not gotten to practices in three weeks . 3 wins 2 loses. We still have a lot of work too do. But I'm proud of these young ladys

Congratulations to both OOC and Hit Away.  I know it was a struggle to get all the players together.

Sounds as though they are ready, even without a lot of practices.
