  1. And we need to keep him that way, unhurt I mean.
  2. One more unanswered score and I'm turning this one off. It's just too painful. I remember that Carthage game where they scored 50+ in the first half. I think we did have one score. This is shaping up to be even worse.
  3. The imperative now is to not get any basketball players hurt.
  4. The Bulldogs advance! A third place team? Not a surprise.
  5. District 9 is pretty tough district isn't it?
  6. Jasper is strong. I mean physically. A linebacker just grabbed a strong running back and chucked him out of bounds.
  7. HF had a lot more total yards. It just slipped away from them.
  8. MaxPreps has Bellville at No. 2 and Silsbee at No. 6. They have Cuero at No. 5 and Jasper at No. 9. Based on the pounding Bellville has given everybody it makes sense. Just looking at the numbers Jasper has a better chance than Silsbee. HF got 426 yards of offense against the Gobblers and had their chances. Madisonville was just blown away by the Brahmas, like everybody else. Bellville hasn't faced a receiver corps like the Tigers boast and that's what makes this game interesting. There's no way Silsbee can stop Bellville's running game. If they can just slow it down enough to keep the Brahmas in the 40's the Tigers have a chance of outscoring them. It might come down to return yards. The Tigers have terrible kick coverage and Bellville will be operating from a short field all night. Silsbee needs big plays and a bunch of them to win.
  9. What are these crazy passing numbers I’m hearing for Belleville? 17 completions on 24 total for the year. At least that’s what MaxPreps has. Can a team with essentially no passing attack field a high quality secondary? If not then this game comes down to protecting Moshier. If he has time to throw I think the Tigers can score a little bit more than the Brahmas.
  10. Jasper and Silsbee are about in the same boat. Dangerous underdogs.
  11. This student body left, student body right, student body up the middle isn't going to get you 18 points in the 4th quarter. If they don't start passing it's the same as giving up.
  12. If they would pan over just a little tiny bit we could see the whole band. Never mind.
  13. If they would pan over just a little tiny bit we could see all the Tigerettes. Never mind.
  14. Bellville beat Sealy 69 - 0 in their meeting. So, will District 9's 4th place team do as well against 10's highly ranked and undefeated district winner? That will be interesting to see.
  15. It took the whole game to get here but at this point Silsbee could score on every possession. They've established dominance albeit late in the game. Sealy's late score was a confluence of zaniness.
  16. Silsbee needs another score in the 4th because Sealy probably has one more big play in them.
  17. Sealy has to be absolutely thrilled as they go into the locker. I suppose that you'd have to say they still have a chance to win. It'll come down to big plays in the 2nd half. Their run offense is killing time but it's not really sustaining drives. You gotta figure that Silsbee will put together at least one scoring drive. Can Sealy match it.
  18. Interesting game. Sealy threw one pass in the first qtr. and that for a touchdown.
  19. Miller down. Looks like an ankle. Limping slightly.
  20. Heavy rain at 4:00 and a 70% chance of rain at game time. Randell has excellent drainage so I'd play it even in a downpour, especially since they're looking at over a 50% chance for tomorrow night. But do you make the trip or just follow it on media, that's the question. I was there for the WOS game back in, was it 2018? I had a great time. Didn't even bother with an umbrella just rain gear. Still soaked to the skin but I brought a change of cloths. That was a happy night. Gringo's is conveniently located only a few blocks from the stadium by the way.
  21. It looks like FF is an anomaly. It's a case of perfect confluence of conditions creating the ultimate unintended consequence. And apparently it's completely unique. Are there any other monster charter schools in the 4A ranks? I don't know of any. So, do you change the rules for the sake of one and only one school? The Faith Family Rule?
  22. As of 4PM Abraham Munguia was able to move his feet but still had numbness in his legs. His MRI was clear. Okay now what? Is this the end of it.? He may be able to walk again so we can forget the whole thing? Final contact was initiated almost 2 yards off the field of play. Munguia was driven into the bench. I realize that what happened at the bench was largely happenstance but it should never have come to that. This is a Silsbee person typing and from my perspective this isn't over.
  23. It's kind of a hot mess. If the Tigers are going to have "one of those games" they picked the right week for it. It's sandwiched between two games where there's little margin for error.
