  1. Miller went down and came up limping.
  2. Or maybe not. 20 - 4 after 1. Tiger defense is smothering.
  3. This is the best matchup for the last district game.
  4. Graduation will hit the Tigers hard. But every varsity player remaining is a contributor including two starters.
  5. Likely there will be the biggest crowd of the season for either of these teams. This is not only a good local rivalry game and a generally good game and the seeding has some meaning, but it's also probably the only game in town on Friday. The girls round 2 will be on Thursday. Could have a lot of interest beyond just the two schools. As far as the brackets go looking ahead neither will face an opponent ranked higher than they until they meet Hitchcock. Thing is the runner-up gets Hitchcock in the third round and the winner gets them in the Region final. I think it would be better to get more wins under your belt before facing the No. 1 ranked team. Either way barring upset Hitchcock waits at the end of the 3A Region 3 rainbow.
  6. West Fork is a new school right? Does it even have seniors?
  7. This has to be one of the finest 4A facilities in the state. How do we get ourselves one of these? It would be a great playoff venue but it’s out at the edge of the universe,
  8. Right HF. I get my H’s mixed up. There are so many in that district.
  9. Great win Hawks! Puts HJ in sole possession of 1st and makes HJ clear masters of their own fate. Ironically Huffman will likely have a somewhat easier path to Region as the runner up than HF will have as the winner.
  10. Punxsutawney Phil must have predicted rain because it was raining 3's tonight.
  11. The defensive intensity dropped of a bit In the 2nd qtr. Has anybody else scored 26 in qtr against the Tigers?
  12. The Bulldogs last 3 games were not blowouts and 2 were close loses. Looks like something has changed.
  13. Graduation will hit the Tigers hard. Next year's district season will be more interesting.
  14. I still don’t get it. Nothing against Vidor but LCM is a mystery to me.
  15. LCM and Vidor are 2 back of Lumberton and 3 back of WOS so they're a long shot. But the loser is definitely out of it. LCM is a total puzzle to me. The contrast in the back to back Silsbee games at LCM and BC is stark. The game in Mauriceville looked like a third round playoff game. It reminded me a little of Silsbee's 3rd round win against Jacksonville last year at SFA. In Bridge City the final was 104-55 but the game wasn't really that close with the Tigers scoring a mere 10 pts in the 4th. Clearly the Tigers were flat against the Bears and Harris got into early foul trouble. To me though that doesn't explain it. Matchups are funny things.
  16. He'll have two or three games before region then. Anybody who'll hustle can contribute.
  17. It shouldn't. They know how to switch gears. Plus the other teams in the district have their moments from time to time. Vidor for instance is a surprisingly good shooting team. The Pirates shot very well tonight from the 3 pt line. If they had an open look they connected with regularity. I'd venture to say that the Tigers won't face better shooting until deep in the playoffs. Of course there wasn't much else besides the shooting. And look how well LCM played last Friday. The Tigers had an off night and Harris got in foul trouble early but still. The Bears actually lead by a few points at the end of the first quarter and were still in the game almost until the end of the 3rd. And the starters and important subs had to play the whole game.
