As soon as they turn 16 their parents will buy them new Mustangs GTs, Camaros , or jacked up 4wheel drive pickup trucks so they can keep up with their neighbor's kids.  As long as the kids are spoiled the way they are in BC and there's no winning tradition like PNG, the kids aren't interested in putting in the work to have a winning program. I have family there and watched the boys and their friends all quit after their sophomore year because "it wasn't fun."  This is only my opinion based on my experience with my family and their friends.  But I blame the parents for spoiling their kids rotten.  I know not every family is the same.

The good thing is, Newton doesn't have to beat Allen lol.  I do feel sorry for the teams that "have" to beat Newton.

10 per cent higher than second place !! That is sick.  Everyone who had a part in this record should be very,very proud.  We're talking about the most important thing in the whole great state of TEXAS !  Congratulation WOS Mustangs very well done.  That's what hard work and dedication gets ya.

My 8th grade team at Jasper suited up 16 in Lufkin in 1966.  My Dad counted 108 suited out for Lufkin.  When they lined up for  calesthentics, they lined up all the way to our 40 yd line.  We were in 4 lines of 4.  Before the the game my Dad came down to the back of the bench and said "Whatever y'all do don't get in a fight !"  We won the game the game 20-12. The next year we integrated and beat them 34-12.  They had almost 7 times the players we had so it shows greater numbers don't guarantee a win.  This was one of his favorite stories.

I was thinking about that stinging grass the other day.  My junior year we started two-a-days on that field and that grass was down right painful.  Before school started we moved to the present facilities and I think they just cut down some trees and graded it.  The practice field had small boulders that were really tough on your elbows.  It really was like playing in a parking lot.

I truly wish I had never said anything about the Black / African American wishes in WOS. I'm just confused as to what this race of people want to be called.  Guess I've been watching to much tv because it seems most Southeast Texas Blacks are perfectly comfortable with being called Black.  I also should not have said that I know what the fans at WOS want.  Because I don't , I just have an opinion.   Sorry DJ  Love ya Bro and hope I didn't cause any unwarranted harassment toward you. And I don't mean no disrespect to anyone on here.and if y'all truly knew me.u know I don't by what I hear.this is thing.and I probably said it wrong.i luv everyone!! But I also know alot.w.o isn't as talented as years past.so ppl fans needs to realize this.time bring change.and bcz we been winning with alot of talent then other 4a schools.its catching up with us.im not here to criticize kids.some kids are better than others.and this year and last year our kids need coaching even more.i go to practice and smh bcz as an OC u can't just call a play and expect it to work.he misses alot in practice.so u have do things he can do.or go with the soph.who has better QB factors.just has simplify things for him.even on defense if u really watched on tape.its blown assignments in the 50 defense.only again we don't have Mandel turner,or MJ on dline.or experienced LBs.jts a trap block that shredded w.o.the nose takes on the double team and goes down.and LB had no clue to step in the hole.i guarantee u on 3 of his runs he didn't get touched.these kids are trying!! And that's why I say coaching is needed really bad.CT knows everything a team will do on offense. But he has to understand that some of these  kids don't get it at all.my heart goes out to #34.bcz I know that kid is trying hard.but if y'all would have actually seen that everytime he took his self out the play.u can't blame a kid for what he don't know.and one of the posters said it best.everyone thinks they will be fine.u just got said it what it is.reality w.o is abt 4 players a way from been really gud.so if anyone kidding themselves on thinking the qb,guards,LB will get better.i can't see it.they are trying.funny part is if we had anyone to help the QB 3steps and throw.he probably would have thrown for more yards in a game than anyone in w.o history.

WOS fans are so spoiled by success that when the cycle finally takes a dip some of them think Coach Thompson forgot how to coach while others take it really personal.  However, most Stang fans are educated and dedicated fans who under stand that it can't go on forever.  You are going to have years every.now and then when your program is younger and maybe even less talented.  The coaches can work 24 hours a day but it takes longer for these types of teams to develop.  And some will never develop into the type of team you've been accustomed to.  WOS has the highest winning percentage in the whole state.  It's easy to get fat and happy when your program is that great.  It's not going to last forever.  I will always put my money on this program turning everything around very soon.  In 1993 Newton was ranked number 1 in the state in preseason.  We won 3 games.  In 94 we went two rounds deep in the playoffs.   I really don't think it's time to panic. I really wonder how much good is done by calling out a young man by his name or number.  There are other ways to get your point across without embarrassing   A young man who more than likely is doing the best he can.
