You know its funny you mention Dre Dunbar, I remember watching him come in scrub time his junior year and seeing him scared to make contact and thinking to myself man we are gonna be in trouble with him being a senior the next year. Well first thing out  the gate against Barbers Hill the kid comes out beast mode has two or three interceptions, a fumble recovery or two and  one pic I think was a pic 6. Kid his senior year went Beast Mode. Im not sure what happened on his summer off but damn he turned out to be a baller. On this particular play he just happened to be in the right spot and for the ball to bounce off of ole boys facemask right into the only guy out there that had the speed to outrun Centrals players was him. The roar of the crowd says it all, Sorry Soulja1 I didn't go get it but it didn't take much prodding to get someone who did lol.

While sitting at the Vidor game we had another player from that '09 team sitting with us (Blake Brooks) and we were talking about that play...that ball bounced right off Nathan Ragio's facemask and into Dre's hands and he took off.  It was pretty amazing!  Not sure if you remember biaplayer but there was also an elderly gentleman who had a heart attack that night in the stands right as the play unfolded; coincidentally, I got to meet him in my office last year.

I haven't seen PNG play, but someone posted earlier that they have no one going both ways. So if that's true, and Faircloth takes the best and puts on offense, maybe, even though they're giving up yards, he's doing a great job with what he has to work with?  Just wondering if that may be a factor.

I for one am getting a little tired of the defense bashing going on here.  There is not one kid on this team who is perfect (offense or defense). Correct me if I’m wrong but the objective of the defense is to win possession, which is necessary for their own team to score and also to prevent the other team from scoring. At 5-0 I think both the offense and defense have done their jobs.  They may not do them like some of you think they should, but they’re getting it done!   Now let’s go Indians...BEAT THE PIRATES!!!

Nobody saying that nimrod... it was obvious penalties in plain sight that didn’t called against png. 5 or 6 flags on pam was legit. I don’t think the flags against pam hurt them. It the obvious no calls on png offense that some might gripe over

That goes both ways...what about the blatent hit on our qb in the end zone after the touchdown or the hands to the face on our offensive lineman on multiple occasions or the holding by PAM’s o-line all night long as well as the numerous blocks in the back.  Quit whining about the refs because there were many more times when flags should have been against PAM.  The refs didn’t make PAM lose this game and anyone who was there should know that for a fact.

I went back and read this tread and I am really disappointed in the amount of PNG fans giving up on the defense and the team at halftime and think it is funny the PAM fans before the game saying the offense can’t just outscore us and when with the defense PAM has. PNG fans should be apologizing to the defensive boys who held PAM to 6 points in the second half. What about the PNG offense who nobody mentioned, underperformed in the first half. So enough with the Faircloth bashing, better coaches make better halftime adjustments and win games using the entire playbook if that is what it takes. If PAM had that many holding calls, we’ll guess what? That will make your defensive front look bad because you can’t get off the blocks to make the play.

    Well said!

I understand all that but man if they called it evenly both ways or at least make it seem like they weren't biased then it'd be fine. We must've had over 300 yards of penalties and I'm not saying some of them weren't legit but my goodness there were just as many holds and blocks in the back on the png side but yet no flags.

That statement goes both ways as there were several other holding penalties, blocks in the back, etc against PAM which weren’t called.

IMO, PAM would be top notch if they could upgrade the restrooms....same restrooms since i was in the first grade in 1981!! other wise, the only stadium besides the butch, that has an actual parking lot and a big one at that, in jefferson and orange county. good turf and VERY NICE VIDEO BOARD

You may have a parking lot, but what good is it when it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get in and out of it?

Just trying to generate some discussion.  Love the football discussion , but also enjoy hearing about facilities from these 2 districts and others as well.   I have seen most of the schools in these districts...just wondering if anyone thinks as I do...  please rank based on your experiences...... Good Luck to all teams this 1st round.

    Ranking 22-5A:

    1.  "The Butch"  ......   Being from a multi - school district they should have a stadium this nice....ashamed they cannot pack it to capacity on a weekly basis.

    2.   "The Reservation"  PNG........ Great Atmosphere........  parking is bad.....  otherwise a must visit for the football followers.

    3.  "Stallworth"  Baytown........ Great Venue......16,000 capacity makes it way too large for most games...... Only PNG will constantly fill their side to capacity....   Baytown can never come close to filling it.

    4.  Port Arthur......... great job on the new upgrades..... nice set up.... never have seen the dressing facitiies , but all else is good.

    5.  Lumberton......... new turf is Great........ large stadium..... Dressing could be upgraded for visitors.... but plenty of nice things for the football fan.

    6.  Nederland.......  ok.....MENTAL ERROR on my part.....  love lots about the stadium... needs turf and dressing rooms...but when the stands are packed it is a great venue.

    7.  Vidor........... Nice scoreboard....... Did I say nice scoreboard........  "  and they know how to put points on that scoreboard"   field, dressing facilities are very sub-par at best.

    8.  Livingston......... nothing needs to be said.... heck I liked just listening to the former announcer at their games......

    Ranking 21- 5A:

    1.  Texan Drive Stadium ( New Caney ISD)....... Might be the best venue in the Houston Area...... top notch everything......

    2.  Turner Stadium ( Humble ISD ) ..........  Great Job a few years ago with the upgrades...... Wish the track was not around the venue so the crowd experience would be better.

    3.   Buddy Morehead Stadium ( Conroe )....... Like the set up... wish it was as nice as WoodForrest...but nice venue.

    4.   Barbers Hill........  nice atmosphere...... new video board......  Dressing Lacks for visitors...... Parking is better than Crosby or Dayton.......

    5.   Crosby.......... all the renovations are great....... Dressing is bad for opponents......  Atmosphere and Video Board  might be the best in the District...... Leaving after a game........an adventure

    6.   Dayton........ The Home bleachers that reach to the Stars.........  Parking and Dressing are deal breakers here........ atmosphere has been down the past few years unless you went to the JV games this year....( SORRY I COULDNT RESIST Bronco94)

    7.   Splendora........ making an attempt with the turf a such........ will take them some tome to catch up with the bigger players in the district.

I think #4 and #5 are backwards...Lumberton's stadium is much nicer than PAM and the parking at PAM and Lumberton are just as bad as the Reservation.
