Final 21-20 :o BH puts it together and the Indian stops dancing ;D                Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill    Port Neches-Groves Total yards             320                            240 First downs             16                               12 Rushes/Yds          39/168                         23/97 Average rush         4.31                            4.22 Comp/Atts          16/38/5                         17/38/4 Pass yards            152                               143 Comp pct            42.11                             44.74 Fumbles/Lost        3/2                                0/0 Penalties-yards     0-0                                0-0
You forgot the penalties stats. A kickoff return and punt return deep into BH territory was brought back and one good drive killed on stupid penalties.

Oh I beleive BH can win and I'm sure BH does, but at the end of the day we have to hold onto the ball and the Coaching has to be flawless to win against PNG. Either one of these lack and PNG advances! I think with a week off there should be no excuses from not coming in with a game plan to win! If that means every player goes both ways then so be it! One bad game and your done starting next week! I think every coach and BH player should be attending the PNG/Central game Friday night in person!
So what kind of game plan do you expect BH to come up with.?    You sound like your lobbying for BH to play kids both ways.....  I don't know of many schools at the 4A level who play kids both ways.  Maybe a few (  Dayton does )  but Dayton is a different breed of football players.  Never seen kids get after it like their kids do. Every team comes into a game with what they hope is a good game plan.    Comes down to Execution...... Your already setting up your excuse if BH loses.  I can hear it now.........play calling stunk and the plan was flawed.  Should have played the kids both ways...
Not setting up excuses just stating an opinion after watching BH for many years in Playoff games. Your right that every team comes in with the game plan that they think will work and it does come down to execution, but when the plan isn't working you have to adjust and adjust fast! BH has players that can play both ways and with our depth being depleted over the season with injuries some kids may have too. In other words leave it all on the field, so there is no question on what coulda, shoulda, woulda helped!
This is not a good situation against PNG. PNG has zero players playing both ways and they substitute many the entire game. That is how we wore down most teams in the second half. But as I said in an earlier post this PNG team is way different than what you saw in week zero. That was the first game (non - district) and Coach Faircloth and Coach Kroeker(DC) kept it pretty generic, as to not show too many different looks.I assume and would hope BH is also much improved and I look forward to a good game.

Not the picks, just the arrogance or cockiness. Just like what we are being called now. Seems a little hypocritical.
It's not posters like you that draw the blanket statements being made about PNG fans. It's the ones that pretend that PNG has let off the gas in every game they've played, the ones that think the def. is inpenetrable by anyone in the area, etc.
We do have fans like anyone else who get excited and really talk too much trash. But my point is most teams that are winning have the same. And we just have to credit that to excitement.Although, I do cringe at some of the comments.

 5.
Smack is all in fun, but I think the real Indian and BH fans know this game is going to be a good one! Both teams have gotten better ,but i give the indians the edge in the mental part of the game! I think their new coach has them believing that they could win state and that is a very important part of the game. In game one there were a lot of fans (Indians or not) that was predicting a blow out, but after they almost lost I thik a lot were hoping they would play BH again ;D I hope the game happens its alway nice to see how teams match up after a full season under their belt.
Good post BHFAN.It is nice to see the progress made by both teams. We are much improved and I have to believe BH is also.

Lumberton matches up better for a win with dayton.
Now thats funny ! ---  Be careful what you wish for  ---
Lumberton runs the ball... You don't want to play the cougs unless you can throw the ball and stop the run...
Wrong! Lumberton actually throws better than they run.
 8.

PN-G still has business to take care of next week in beaumont. One more week before we talk about a rematch with B.H.
Agree.
Definitely true. The Central game will be a good game, we need to focus on that one first.
 9.
Thankfully I can say, and you can go back through my posts to prove it, I wasn't one of those putting PNG down like that. You guys are playing strong ball and that's good for you. I am wondering something though, how many of the boys paying this year are the ones who Burnett wouldn't play and how many stayed off the team until this year for the same reason? Just curious as I remember someone, I forget who, talking about how Burnett was playing favorites and not playing the guys who should be in the game. Finally, you probably should have waited another week or two before posting this, although I'm pretty sure you've been homping at the bit for awhile, the timing here does actually come off a little as gloating.
No matter what happens from here on out, we have far exceeded what most expected (even amongst our own). No reason to wait a week or two.
 10. Central can get a share of the district championship. And yes they didn't get any respect before the season either.
 11.
I predicted PN-G to win District!!
Yes you did, you knew what we had in Faircloth from the start.
 12.
I think Faircloth will make this whole district better!!.....we are seeing and preparing for plays that nobody sees  or prepare for until playoffs!!!
Good point I have to agree. Neumann even stated this past week he was using the PNG/Vidor game film to see what PNG did to stop Vidor.
 13.
I figured PN-G would be improved this season, but I never thought they'd be 9-0. They have really done a good job of improving every week. I thought they were overrated early on as they were squeaking by in games, but they have really turned it on and impressed me the past several weeks. Balanced offense and a very good defense is a good combination.
Coach Faircloth and his Indians have exceeded our expectations. I believe most PNG fans felt we would be good and make the playoffs. But I don't know if too many can honestly say they felt we would be 9-0.
 14.

Thus far, we have seen PNG's domination until the 4th quarter.  Faircloth and co. refuse to run a score up on anyone, show a lot of class.  However, things could have gotten bad for the last four teams that the Indians have faced.  IMO of the Ozen game last night, PNG was up 35-0 with around 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter.  Ozen could not stop the anything that the Indians were doing on offense at that point, nor could they move the ball against the Indians D.  My point is, that could have very easily been a 56-0 or 63-0 game.  Central will have their hands, arms, and legs full next week.
You're darn right.  If we don't get our butts in gear (Take notes, Jag Coaches), we could get our butts spanked as well.
Central has a good coach and will be ready. It will be a good game. Hopefully both teams will come out injury free and make a good showing in the playoffs.
 15. .....a bunch of people to eat crow. I remember last spring when the PNG folks saw and expressed excitement over what was taking place on the reservation with coach Faircloths arrival , there were a lot of people here (most) that wanted to give all kind of reasons why we would not be much better than last years 3-7. I remember some of the Lumberton and Beaumont posters commenting on lack of talent at PNG(thats pretty funny with a running back that will rush for over 1500 yds., a qb that will throw for close to 1500 yds, a host of receivers and a defense that has been lights out). One poster from Beaumont said coaching wasn't the problem. She said "Coach Burnett doesn't go on the field and play", I agree neither does Coach Faircloth but he definitely has our kids better prepared. There was couple of Nederland posters who said Faircloth was offensive minded and that our defense would suffer. One used Nederlands D the last couple of years as an example of being able to score 50 points and still lose. Another one even claims he saw Keller (where coach Kroeker was defensive coordinator) and that they were week, "no attacking" and pretty much just stood straight up( that might get my vote as the funniest). One poster ( a very honest, call it as he sees it unbiased poster) from Nederland said we hired an unproven coach( even though he was a very successful record breaking OC at Permian). There was one poster that follows Beaumont and PA , who said " sissy ball was coming to PNG" and sissy ball promoted weak defenses. Maybe so but i'll take what we got. Last but not least I want to take this time to give credit to our School Board for sticking to their guns and hiring the right coach. They received a lot of heat for requiring a masters degree. Most here felt we were bypassing the best coaches by requiring this. Well, I guess not because we definitely got the right coach for us. And to boot most of the coaches that came with Faircloth also have Masters Degrees. We had a local coach that wanted to talk to our Superintendent about the job after the application deadline and the School Board did the right thing. I have also seen some posts lately about SOME of the PNG fans getting cocky. Even though i'm not one to talk and predict we will blowout anybody, I say the fans who want to have the right to after all the talk last spring and summer.
 16.
Not the cap is 16 or 18, points could change a little with 16, I tallied em with the 18 point cap.  Don't need to do much math if Ned/Vidor win next week.
I believe it is 18.
 17.
A lot of people on this board said this game would be the game-of-the-week, and it truly was. Congrats. to both on a hard fought game. Great job Dogs--do it 1 more time next week!
Ditto!
 18.
Ozen's spread is already set at (-16), they would be in a bind. Vidor's spread is at (+15), pending the supposed loss that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie. Livingston's spread is at (-10) pending a supposed win that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie. Lumberton's spread is at (-1) pending a supposed win that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie. Nederland's spread is at (+12) pending a supposed loss that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie. Lots still to be decided, easiest thing is Vidor and Nederland win.
Looking good for Vidor and Nederland.
 19. I'm with Penny on this one, the only simple scenario is a Vidor and Nederland win. Anything other than that gets complex. It will definitely be interesting. I will be watching this site on my phone at Zaharias for scores.
 20.
Alot of ifs, but Lumberton beats Ned, Livingston beats Vidor, Ozen beats LCM they will all be tied at 3-4.  With no clear head-to-head...How would this shake down as far as who goes to the Play-offs?  If was 1/5 we would all be drunk....I know.
If that was to happen it would be decided by point spread.
 21. It will be interesting. But I say Nederland and Vidor will be favored.
 22. He's been MIA since the PNG game.
 23. Should be a  good game, but i'm not sure how Central will stop PNG. Too balanced and too many weapons. PNG just has to not stop themselves. They did on two drives tonight.
