Past Pirate

Vidor was called for interfering with the receiver catching the ball. I've seen the play several times. The PNG player who was identified as the receiver made no attempt to catch the ball. The Vidor players ran right by him, without touching him. The ball was recovered behind him. The ball had traveled ten yards, so no illegal touching. The ball was recovered and the Vidor players were running off the field when the flag was thrown. The refs missed an illegal hit in the back on the play by PNG. 
Not saying this called decided the outcome of the game. But it was a huge monumentium changer. If the call was made right and Vidor scores before half to go up 29-13, no telling how the second half goes. PNG may not have tried the on-side kick to start the third. For fear of giving Vidor a short field and being down by 16 already. 
Game is over and the outcome is not changing. Time now for everyone cheer on the district and take down 21-5a.

Let me ask u this,after the game win or lose would you go up to these boys and call them "rag tag". Or go up to #3 and #5 and call them a "joke".  I've sat back and watched grown men call 16 ,17 year old kids out by numbers and positions. If that how you are then I can't change that. It's classless and uncalled for. I see you only have 4 posts so I'm sure your just on here to start trouble.  There a difference in trash talking and going too far. I tell u what. You want to call kids names and embarrass them on a message board how about meeting me and saying what u said here. I bet u don't because you are a coward. No. We play Livingston for homecoming this year. You will just have to settle for the fireworks on the field in this one. 

Congrats to Vidor on a big win. Looks like they are getting themselves in a position to return to the playoffs! ...they also become the first team not called GCM to hand Nederland a district loss in the last 5 years...congrats again Pirates! :-) 
 

Black and Gold was the toast of the night, but who would win in this physical fight
Many times in the past Vidor has taken the lead, late in the 4th the defense they'd need.
Nederland with history on their side would snuff out the hopes and send Vidor on a long ride.
On this warm night at the Bulldogs home field The tension for Vidor began to build.
Late in the 4th Nederlands kicker was there a made field goal would only add to their despair. 
As the kick flew out there was change in the air the kick missed wide to Nederlands despair.
This battle royal ended 21 all To overtime we go to see who would fall.
 With Vidors defense set with its look 3 plays later letting  Nederland off the hook.
The crowds were wild as Vidor readied their O a touchdown a must or this chance they would blow.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd didnt go so well but on fourth they did not fail
A new set of downs was all that they cared Vidor was tough they were not scared.
Three more plays and another fourth did appear what would they do what crowd would cheer. 
The play came out another run thought most but a pass from Vidor shocked their host.
With six points on the board thoughts did apear In Jeff Matthews head he showed no fear. 
Coach Matthews decided this is no place for the weak. The Vidor crowd was yelling lets end this streak.
Out of the blue there came an I. The Nederland defense wasnt ready for the surprise.
The ball was snapped and 2 points was made On this night history was weighed.
As per usual Black and Gold would win, but on this night it was Vidor who would grin.
Friday night football is an awesome sight, this is why they come they play they fight.
Nederland should leave heads held high Vidor was better for this one night.

Can you fairly judge Nederland off of wins over Livingston and Lee? And the same can be said about Vidor over Central and Ozen? Regardless of records, these two teams play each other close and hard. Each team has its strengthens and weaknesses. I just hope for a good hard fought game with no injuries and a Pirate victory. Good luck to both teams.

The middle of the field on defense is Vidor's biggest weak spot. Vidor has made some great improvements all over the filed on both sides of the ball, but need to fix the middle asap. It's not a personnel problem, it's a scheme issue before anyone thinks am calling anyone out.

Quirante, don't listen to these people trying to compare you to your brother. You keep playing your game and at the end of the day if will speak for itself. 
Only negative from today, we got to shore up the middle of the field against the pass. Too many guys crossing behind the backers and in front of the safeties. The corners played shutdown coverage today. Hats off to you. I like the 4 man front and the way they got after it. 
The offense was clicking today. No punts and no turnovers. Play calling was much better today and glad to see some new wrinkles. Hopefully that will be a trend we can build on week to week. 
Build on this from week to week and don't take anything for granted. Keep putting in the work and success will keep coming.
