Just losing Parquet? Parquet is a big time player. Any team that lost him will take a hit. That type of player is not easy to replace. Last year he didn't play. This year he did play. Look at the records. I have never heard of Boutte bouncing on any team after 2 years, but the team he would be bouncing to would be the school he attended high school and left Port Arthur Lincoln to go to . And from what my co-worker told me, with the new school being formed and having the new school boundary lines drawn, most of West Brook talent will be going to the new school starting with the 8th graders this year.

My Tigers will be fine until they see Yates. Just stay focused Tigers. I am gonna make sure that I am off work for the Regional Final game.

I just found out that this tournament has several ranked teams in the state which includes the #1 ranked teams in 4A (Silsbee), 5A (Waxahachie) and 6A (Cy-Falls). This has to be one of the best tournaments of the year. I will be there to see my Silsbee Tigers against Wagner @ 9 tomorrow morning if both teams win their games today.

I expected a bigger win for us last night. The guy sitting next to me told me that Ozen actually had 3 starters that were missing last night. Dotson, Jones, and somebody else.

Silsbee-lite by 25. With Barnes and the rest of the team it would be Silsbee by 40.

Despite my Tigers being the so called "Silsbee-Lite", we still had a chance to win the game. It is not what you do in November but what you do in March.

The foul count was 16 to 2 in the first half? You gotta be kidding me! I have never heard of a foul count to be that lopsided in a game. Bottom line is Ozen won the game.

OK I am eating crow. I thought West Brook would beat Ozen by 20 because I didn't think the Jones kid could do it by himself and Parquet and the 6'9" kid would be too much. I didn't go to the game but I heard Ozen had a good game plan. Ozen vs. my Tigers next month.

i am going to the Central vs. Vidor game tonight. I feel sorry for the kids at Central. I hope they are allowed to go back to their school soon.

Tigers will keep it close. They are a tough out at home!

Do the Panthers have a chance against the Titans?

I would not blame Coach English for leaving Nederland. He should have been named athletic director. He has put Nederland basketball on the map and would have done a great job!

I am happy for Coach Nelson. He is a good coach and actually should not have been fired from Ozen. The rumor mill when he was forced out from Ozen at that time was that he was just about to turn the Ozen program around and Lambert and the powers that be did not want Ozen to be successful so they forced him out. I also heard that when things died down and if the Central job came open and he was available he would definitely get the job. Wow. Funny how things turned out.

In my opinion...Ozen is ranked too high! Some people have them ranked 3rd in their District! I heard they did well in the offseason, but I think their ranking is too high!

From what I hear, Silsbee was more talented than Dallas Lincoln last year. I know after Devon McCain was injured it was devastating, so that could be the reason. But the facts remaining are these: 1.)There is no team in Class 4A with more talent than Silsbee. 2.) And there may be no team in the state of Texas deeper than Silsbee. This was told to me by one of my coaching buddies. So the question is. why shouldn't they win it all this year? I agree with Sports Junkie. It's State Title or Bust! The window for winning a state championship does not stay open long. This has to be Silsbee's year.

I think this game will come down to field position and coaching.

Calvin Tyler is a Beast!

West Brook has to get passed just winning the Beaumont Bowl trophy. They consistently pull a large number of football athletes because they have consistently beaten most teams in the area. With the numbers they have and the student athletes they have, they should be able to compete with anyone in the state. Coach Stump competed with his numbers because he had an excellent staff and had a great scheme. I was told that on several plays last night that WB was running kids on the field with seconds to spare prior to the snap of the football. I heard they not only were over matched but were unprepared.

I plan on expecting a big crowd tonight! I will get there early.,.. I know the Silsbee running backs are tired of hearing how good the WOS defense is and I am sure the WOS defense is tired of hearing how great the Silsbee running backs are this year! As I said before, it will be the Chain Gang defense vs. the C.T. (Calvin Tyler) A.T. (Adonis Thomas) show. Who will break the other ones will? I will have my popcorn ready!
