  1. Big mistake by PAM QB. Hope that don’t come back to cost them. Looked like he could have ran it in. Problem was no timeouts left. Either know you can run it in, or throw it away….. but don’t make that throw!
  2. Martin is just plain nasty. Two big time runs back to back. Apparently blue chip running backs grow on trees in Port Arthur.
  3. I didn’t know Todd Dodge was the head coach at PNG! Then he goes on bashing T because at 5’7, 150 lb at DE he couldn’t get a scholarship. He has passion for the silver and blue, but damn, the more he ranted, the goofier he sounded.
  4. None of that. Something much much worse. They had to play Drelon Miller.
  5. They are that! Didn’t mean it as a slight. Proof what a great coach can do for a program. My father coached with Thomas Brooks at Ozen, and against Arthur Louis Ozen teams while he was at TJ. Those Ozen teams alone could beat the current United teams with Ozen and Central kids. Sad for the kids. They are getting cheated.
  6. It won’t be easy, and region 3 is usually the toughest region. But when you remove Carthage and China Spring, region 3 isn’t nearly as formidable. There are still a few teams that can bear Silsbee on any given night, but if they continue to improve, they should be the favorite to play in the semi’s.
  7. Silsbee don’t turn the ball over, and don’t commit undisciplined penalties, I can see them playing well into December. Good thing is they won’t see Carthage until Dallas, if they clean things up.
  8. No way a CT defense tackles that poorly, can’t cover a forward pass, and gives up that many yards. IMO, Silsbee was the better team, and should have won my a larger margin. But, a CT defense wouldn’t have played that pathetically.
  9. BISD has some major issues with their athletics…. Hard to believe that United basketball is the only competitive program. Coaching is a major issue, but no way all the best talent in the hallways are playing sports. No excuse why the 2 largest programs in SE Texas got beat by a combined score of 131-0 tonight. It’s obvious open enrollment won’t help much.
  10. WOS defense is not very good, but IMO, the offense is a bigger problem. Not very good up front, and the QB is very inaccurate. He’s their best weapon, but only when he makes something out of nothing.
  11. Outside of watching Jordan Shipley dominate Jasper, and watching Vince Young dominate North Shore, this is as a impressive performance I’ve ever seen.
  12. Not use to seeing a WOS defense look this porous. Wow.
  13. Unbelievable. One of the coolest, and guttiest performances I’ve ever seen. That kid has heart.
  14. WOS shoulda punted that ball and played field possession.
  15. If you wanna run the all up the middle, put #40 in there and let him be a battering ram. Then use the QB legs on a bootleg.
  16. WOS is handicapped on offense. Not very good, and not a typical WOS defense. Credit to the Mustangs for taking advantage of opportunities, but outside of a drive or 2, they have done little offensively. Now Silsbee going full blown conservative, and WOS is teeing off on the run.
  17. Hope it’s minor or precautionary. Maybe dehydrated.
  18. They say football is a team sport… Team Miller 31 WOS 27 They can’t cover or tackle him even when they put a safety over the top of him.
  19. Silsbee has played with piss poor discipline. (4 or 5) 15 yd penalties. Several turnovers. Blown coverages. Can’t tell who wants to win the game at times.
  20. That poor referee hobbles as bad as Coach Samples. He needs a motorized scooter out there.
  21. WOS just ok offensively. Silsbee gifted them 14 points. They don’t run the ball very good, other than when the QB makes something t happen with his feet. He’s made some nice throws as well, but very inconsistent. Silsbee has the 2 or 3 best players on the field. #40 for Silsbee is a heckuva football player.
  22. He will be whining all week next week about open enrollment after NS drops 70 on them.
  23. I agree with you. Was very perplexed by the decision in the first place. Westbrook has struggled on defense for a long time. They weren’t great when they played for the state title. I watched them play, and they were constantly misaligned, out flanked, and poorly coached. Just my opinion, anyways. I’d be most concerned about the discipline of the kids and the structure of the program moving forward as well. WOS will always have talent, and tough kids. That’s not a question.
