1. Yeah Deweyville has "good players" and always play with alot of heart. But we are talking Bottom Line here. not what could be. Somebody tell me how in the world a defensive back who runs a 5 flat forty can cover a reciever who runs a 4.4. Thats not lack of discipline! As far as being in the Old district being a nightmare? What? We are 0-3! How would it be worse????? I believe we won some district games in THAT district last year. The reality! No matter what disrtict we are in, we are going to be the small school,Unless we drop down. Yes we have made play-offs in past. But we could make them just about every year in 1a. And before someone else accuses me of Whining, Im just stating facts, not whining. The one post that made sense is; YES you do have to get these young kids in the program early. thats with any sport. But like I stated.  LACK OF TEAM SPEED! TOO MANY ONE WAY PLAYERS! LACK OF SIZE!= 0-3 in district.
2. Bottom line. Deweyville is smallest school in district. too many one way players. not enough team speed to match up to bigger schools. In my opinion they took Deweyville out of the frying pan and threw them in the fire when they moved them out of the district they were in. There is some good talent on this team, as with teams in the past. But playing tougher non district games is not the answer. Dont think coaching is the only problem either. Playing tough non district games only gives you more pre-district injuries, from playing bigger schools. Deweyville was only eight kids from dropping down to 1a. Thats where we need to be, and thats where we can compete. Took Evadale to the wire, they are in top ten in texas 1a. They will probably go undefeated in their district for the second year in a row. They would not make the play-offs in our district either. Not because of coaching, or schedule, but because of their size and lack of team speed. Same as us! Not much you can do about it either, its what your delt, when you have 40 students to make a team. my 2 cents anyway.
3. Buna wins 4-2. Good game by both starting pitchers. Both went seven innings.
4. Kountze wins 4-2. Complete game from both starting pitchers. Both threw good, Kountze put together the hits when it counted, and Deweyville did'nt.
5. At around 6 dollers a ball, I'm sure that money was not the issue. This sounds more like a coach with a bad attitude, and needs to re-evaluate why he coaching, cause if its not for the kids, then he needs to find another occupation.
6. Deweyville wins 10-8, Freshman pitcher Jacob Howell gets the win.
7. I've seen all these teams play, and there is no better TEAM. All these teams have some good talent on them, and it depends on which team executes and plays up to there potential on any given night. EC killed anahuac and then gets beat by warren, Buna barely beats Deweyville on the long ball and then gets beat by Anahuac. ,  thats why you play the games. As far as Evadale goes, I believe they are a very good 1a team and should do good in their playoffs, and just like the teams mentioned could beat any of these teams on a given night if they play to their potential. But since they are in a different district, that really does not matter. I will be pullling for them as well as the teams in our own district once the playoffs start.
8. Good ball game. Solid pitching. Both teams scattered out a few hits; Buna's happed to be homeruns. One run shot from J.Clark, and a two run shot from Baxter.
9. The Pirates had a little trouble with Statum on the mound, but ended up with 13 hits to OF 10 hits for the game. No dought one of the best outings this year for the Pirates.
10. Saw Felts today for first time this year. Man, this young man has really developed physically and is just BASEBALL SMART. Hustles on and off the field. Really good team leader. He should have a good long career ahead of him. And yes there was a scout at the game.
11. Ive had a chance to see both WOS and Orangefield play now, and these two teams match up very close.  After looking at the schedule I would not be surprized to see these two teams split 1 each in district. The big Question is can either one of these teams upset BC. If not there could be a tie breaker third game in store, that is if HF or HJ does not upset one of these teams as well. Their schedule and pitching rotation could be the difference. Should be some good games in this district, no dought one of the strongest 3a districts. Does anyone know WOS overall record and possible ranking? They should be inching into top twenty soon.
12. There is a ton of talent on this team, but that is true for the other teams in this district as well. It will be a fun district to watch, should be some good match-ups. Pitching rotation once district starts may determine 3rd place in this district.
13. Garrett Haney (Deweyville) 6 foot 155 lbs .419 ba. 2 Hr 19 RBI Sophmore year(lead off) .457 ba. 2 Hr 29 RBI Junior year(four hole) .510 ba. 5 Hr 9 RBI current year 2010(three hole) Utility player- short, catcher, pitcher catcher pop time 1.90-1.99
14. Garrett Haney (Deweyville) hit number 5 today at Kirbyville, and Taylor Fairchild hit his first.
15. Deweyville's Garrett Haney 4 for 6 with 3 HRs in Hemphill Tour. Also freshman Jacob Howell complete game shutout with 8 ks in 10-0 win over Warren.
16. Iv'e heard Lufkin also, but have not heard which field. there are a half dozen fields in Lufkin that this could be played on.
17. I forgot,this post is on prediction...Deweyville in a close one 5-4.
18. New Waverly has a good solid ball team. 20-3 overall, and 14-0 in conference. But they are young and don't have much play-off experience. Deweyville just needs to hit the ball, and they should be ok. New waverly not ranked in the top 25, even with a 20-3 overall record shows how young and inexperienced they must be. Their best 2 pitchers are soph. and fresh.
19. These two teams are very simalar. Good solid pitching, but nothing overpowering, and both hit the ball well. Deweyville hit the ball good in the first five innings, dont know the total # of hits but had to be over ten with two triples and two doubles, on three different pitchers. HF scattered a few hits early, but had a good sixth. As far as the comment about only being 2a. it only shows how little you know about baseball, because any good solid team in 2a would be a good team in 3a and vise versa. Just look at the teams in Deweyville's district, every one of them were 3a teams at one time.
20. Very good game. Deweyville led most of the game, HF bats come alive in the bottom of the sixth. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
21. Didn't see this one this way. Who pitched for Buna?
22. Buna will stay undefeated in district, but it could be a little closer game, depends on who pitches for EC. If Trey ;6-1 Buna ;someone else,11-1.
23. Yea i know ill hear it lol here we go.. they beat yall Kirbyville deserves to be #1 and until yall beat them they will stay at #1 This does not hold true because you put Kountze in front of Deweyville!
