  2. That's really the one that counts! Although, it's nice to see West Brook get a little more respect than in some of the other polls I've seen.....#12 is cool! 8) Even that one (Ap) is questionable alot of times.

  7. Friendswood falls to Calallen in 4A baseball semi ROUND ROCK — In Friendswood's first trip to the state baseball tournament, the first inning was one the Mustangs would like to forget. With three hit batsmen, two errors and a pair of hits, the Mustangs spotted Corpus Christi Calallen five runs and it would be more than enough for the Wildcats as they went on to defeat Friendswood 7-1 in the Class 4A state semifinals on Wednesday at Dell Diamond. The trouble started when Friendswood senior righthander Stefan Myers hit the first two batters, Calallen's Derek Hagy and Jeramie Marek. The Wildcats' third hitter, Kris Guerrero, grounded into a fielder's choice and potential force out at second base, but Dan Liufau's throw to Friendswood shortstop Michael Ruiz was too high. Calallen's Patrick Frasier followed with a 2-RBI single and the Mustangs (27-10) committed another error to allow a third run to score as right fielder Cody Bergeson's throw to home missed catcher Matt McLaren. Frasier later came home on an RBI single by Roland Resendez and pitcher Logan Verrett scored the fifth run on a fielder's choice by Mat Garza for a 5-0 first inning lead. Verrett (18-0) dominated on the mound for Calallen (41-1), throwing a complete game and allowing four hits while striking out 12. Friendswood picked up a run in the third inning. Lifuau singled and Ruiz drove him in with an RBI double to cut the Calallen lead to 5-1, but the Wildcats added a solo homer by Skyler Hoelscher and an RBI double by Resendez in the fifth for a 7-1 lead. Myers (10-4) took the loss for Friendswood.
