Port Neches tryouts The Port Neches Little League will host tryouts for fall ball Saturday. There are no tryouts for ages 5-6. Ages 7-8 will try out at 4:30 p.m. The 9-10-year-old age group will try out at 5:30 p.m., while the 11-12-year-old age group will try out at 6:30 p.m. There is also a mini baseball camp Aug. 11.

Baseball Dixie World Series Ethan Franklin, a 12-year-old from Chester, was the winning pitcher for the Panola County All-Stars in the championship game against Atlanta in Carthage last weekend.
