  1. There was a good young assistant coach roaming the sidelines for Rockwall that year who later became a decent head coach at another school. Any guesses?
  2. BigMacAg I have that very picture of Nolan framed in my office. I hope you paid more than I did for it. ;D Well he probably didn't STEAL his so I'm sure he did ;D
  3. KDO, who are these coaches that you speak of (the one bad year out of 4)? I think we are well aware of the district. Don't expect to win district every year, just to be competitive. I'm just using theory. No actual people. A coach can go one year 7-3 then 1-9 the next year and they are gone.... Excuse me. It appeared to me that your post suggested that we ran off coaches if they had one bad year and that we didn't understand we were in a tough district.

  5. I would think a good coach would look at this as a great opportunity. A real professional would take pride in taking over a down program and turning it around. (such as Credeour in Lumberton!) Think about the respect and admiration he now has in the community. He built it and deserves all the credit. If the program was loaded and had a history of success would you really need to be worried as much about the hire? I agree with you Green and Bold. : So why don't you leave your successful business and go take one on that has been down for sometime and turn it around. You should really look at that as a great opportunity to turn a business around, if you are a real professional, that is. ;D ;D [/quote If it paid more I might consider it. You see TD the point I am trying to make is that some people don't worry bout the last ten years cuz they just might have enough confidence that they can do better. BTW this is not tragichippy. I am not on that list. ;D (<<<< see the smiley face?) Go ahead give me the smite.

  7. News flash! We wouldnt want you as a coach.
  8. Well, I think their strengths are they are just a bunch a kids who enjoy playing football. Weaknesses..... well they're all pretty weak cuz they are just kids. C'mon guys lets quit trying to give this stuff ESPN type analysis. Again I'm sorry, I gotta go now and write " I will never read youth sports threads again" 30 times on a piece of paper. ;D
  9. If the punishment does not fit the crime then I personally will not sign up my kid to play next year. If my kid is taught to act out like this if he loses then I just prefer he does not play at all. Punishment is easy. Lifetime ban and criminal charges. Coaching is not a right its a privilege, and one that I hope the clowns responsible for this crap never get to do again. Its PEE WEE FOOTBALL YOU GOOFS!
  10. OUCH!!!, now why did yall do that, we layed off them at 36 points We did too... After 3rd TD we put in 2nd string backs who scored another 2 then we put in an entire new 3rd string that scored 2 more with a safety. And why do you feel the need to get on here and say this? To show your sportsmanship? I'm sorry, I promised myself I wouldn't look at the youth section cuz it sickens me. My bad.
  11. I will never understand why LCM gets so much criticism, especially from outsiders. As for as the bond election goes, I sat on the committee and there were many issues on what and where to build new facilities. If I had not sat in on these meetings I may have been confused like some of you are about the decisions made. Decisions were made, people voted, and its over. We still need a new jr high and we still need a new high school. If you live in the district and you don't like a policy, please let your voice be heard as it is your right. Even if we go 0 and 50 in football, we still have a great school, some great educators and great families. I also want the football program to succeed as much or more so than any of you on here, but lets not let that cloud the fact that we have a great school and district.
  12. I've seen Nederland, PNG and Central play. Of those 3, Central is the team to beat. Central has too much speed on offense and the speed on defense will help contain Nederlands spread offense.
  13. I honestly believe Livingston and LCM will be a tight game. yea... shall we call it the toilet bowl??? Easy there Pirate, I don't think you guys have had quite enough success yet to be ragging on any other teams . Lets remember these are kids that you are making these comments about!
  14. Whaaaa, whaaa, whaaaa. Shoulda coulda woulda. Score was 48-7. Sorry you couldnt win 100-0. The Bear fans were just cheering for their team. No doubt the Mustangs dominated the game. Just take the win. You should be more worried about the penalties and turnovers. I am sure that will get taken care of by the coaches because those kind of mistakes will get you beat when you make your playoff run. Anyway, good luck to the Mustangs who have a very talented team.
  15. I did, four of them. Crap, you beat me. I did 1/2 of 1 two a days. > I suppose that would mean I did 1 half a day.
  16. You guys just wont give it up will ya. Just keep bear bashing. It seems to be a favorite past time for many. Why dont you just take pride in your team and cut out the other crap. I know there are a few players who bust their hump trying to play and you old guys just gotta get your kicks by running someone down. Tell me, just how many of you ever went through 2 a days?
  17. Great rule. I go to the games to see the kids, not the coaches. They had their turn many years ago.
  18. Oh thats the BS you are talking about. I agree with the first one, second one I'm not so sure about but I think were basically on the same page. IMO it's the coach's job to hold the kids accountable. There are problems and I hope they get addressed.
  19. What BS are you referring to? Any examples would be greatly appreciated. This rap that the program has is often talked about but I never hear about what it's in reference to. If it's the same old noise about parent intervention, I just don't see it. If there is a change, it would be a great opportunity for someone who is willing to work hard and make the right decisons. IMO it doesn't really matter if they have a big name, just someone who really wants to prove himself to be a great coach and be dedicated to the kids, school and community.
  20. Not saying anyone cheated but he should have made it. A mistake was made, not cheating. IMO
  21. Sad but great article. IMO the classiest and greatest football player EVER.
  22. I've been to many Mustang games in my lifetime. If you listen to or agree with the majority of the people in the stands you are probably not on solid ground. I can remember before the state championships came I often heard how lousy coach Hooks was. I also distinctly remember no matter who was at quaterback, it was always the wrong one. In all fairness its ok to disagree with playcalling or have an opinion about whats going on. When I do I whisper it to my buddy sitting next to me to get it off my chest and to ensure that no one but him knows how smart I am. IMO this is not the right time nor place for those arguments but alas it is a free country.
  23. From what I understand it was his idea to have fewer varsity coaches, not a budgeting decision. The coaching turnover is strange. Some turnover was needed but some fine coaches have been pushed out or decided to leave. As for the outsiders wanting to comment on parent intervention problems, unless you know this for a fact you should really not make these accusations. This has been a knock on the program for years. As for as the past goes I can't comment on because I dont know but IMO that isn't the problem now.
