  1. Theres nothing on Ned's forum that indicates he is out for the season. He sure impressed me.Did he start rehab today?
  2. Png and Silsbee jv & frehman games have been cancelled. Silsbee backed out.
  3. You are a class act. Get well soon. Remember only you can determine when your ready to come back. Don't let the pressure to come back early get to you. My son came back early and missed the entire baseball season. I really think your a college prospect. My prayers are with you. Get well soon.
  4. They should be good,I talked to a young coach from there and he said it was the best team they have had in while with most of the team back from last year. I Think they beat Texas City in a scrimmage also. Heres article about the last weeks game. Crosby Cougars By DOYLE BARLOW CROSBY — About the only thing that could stop the Crosby offense in their season opener Friday night was the weather. And unfortunately for Atascocita, lightning didn’t strike twice. The Crosby attack was in midseason form, as the Class 4A Cougars scored on their first five possessions in a 35-21 victory over the visiting Class 5A Eagles, in a contest which was delayed 1 1/2 hours by lightning. Crosby (1-0) accumulated 332 yards of total offense, led by junior tailback Chance Casey and senior quarterback Duran Starks. Casey rushed for 148 yards — 117 of that in the first half — while also contributing an 11-yard TD run. Starks spearheaded an efficient passing attack, as he completed 6-of-8 passes for 77 yards and three scores, while also scrambling 12 yards to paydirt. “I was a little surprised by how well we executed offensively for it being the first game,†Cougar head coach Kevin Flanigan said. “We were real consistent and I felt like since we were getting 5,6, or 7 yards a pop there wasn’t a whole lot of sense in changing the way we were attacking. Besides, they (Atascocita) are so good offensively, by us being able to drive the ball we kept them off the field.†The Atascocita offense did have its moments, particularly senior quarterback Daniel Tatman. Tatman passed for 185 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 14 times for 83 yards. Crosby set the tone on its first drive. After forcing the Eagles (0-1) into a three-and-out on the first possession of the game, the Cougars promptly marched 44 yards in seven plays for a 7-0. Starks was 3-for-4 through the air on the march, which was capped when Chris Murphy outjumped an Eagle defender in the end zone for a 15-yar scoring strike. Pedro Manriquez capped the drive with the first of his five PATs for the 7-0 advantage. Atascocita attempted to answer, as the Eagles marched all the way to the Crosby 9. But on first-and-goal, Brandon Richardson fumbled at the 1, with the ball rolling through the end zone for a touchback. But before the Coogs could run a play, lightning halted the game with 4:11 left in the first quarter. But the lightning delay only delayed the inevitable. After a 90-minute break which saw the stadium emptied, the Crosby offense came back and never missed a beat. Casey carried the ball eight straight times and gained 80 yards, capped by a 12-yard scamper up the gut for a 14-0 lead. “I was worried about us losing our focus during the delay,†Flanigan said. “But our guys seem to never get too high or too low and they picked it right back up.†Atascocita answered Casey’s TD when Tatman hit Cameron Cox for a 27-yard score to make the margin 14-7. But again the Coogs answered, with Starks scrambling in from 12 yards out to cap a 7-play, 54-yard march for a 21-7 advantage. Crosby was set up in good field position on the drive by a 39-yard kick return by Toris Doze. Doze also added a 36-yard return and had 71 yards rushing on 11 carries, before leaving late in the game with apparent leg cramps. The Eagles added a score with 6 seconds left in the first half to make the score 21-14 at intermission. Atascocita rounded out the scoring in the fourth quarter when Tatman found Xavier Jackson for an 18-yard score. The visitors’ final drive was snuffed when Kevin Humphrey made a one-handed interception of a Tatman pass. Atascocita finished with 293 total yards and two turnovers, compared to none for the Coogs. Crosby will return to action next week at Port Neches-Groves in a non-district game. Kick off is at 7
  5. Anyone in our district would beat Forestbrook, I saw them last year and they were horrible. They looked totally confused. Ned by 28
  6. Will be good test for Indians. Ten starters back from state champonship team. The Daily News Published August 30, 2007 LA MARQUE — What a way for Chris Jones to make his debut as La Marque’s head football coach. Jones, now at the helm of the defending Class 4A, Division II champs, will coach his first game as a Cougar against Port Neches-Groves at 5 p.m. Friday at Reliant Stadium. “I mean, of all places for it to be, it’s a neat thing,†he said. “When I first got the job, I didn’t know that. When I found out, I realized it was a big deal. “Of course for the kids who were on the team last year, they’ve been through all that. But it’ll be a new experience for our staff, because most of the guys are new.†The Cougars beat Nederland, 28-20, in last year’s season opener at Reliant en route to a 15-1 state championship season. Jones will be under the microscope as the Coogs’ new coach. He replaces Bryan Erwin, who is now the head coach at Lewisville Marcus. Erwin compiled a 65-8 record and won two state titles during five seasons at La Marque, and he steps into a program that’s played in nine state championship games and won five since 1986. Starting things off at Reliant, the Houston Texans home stadium, only adds to the pressure. “It can be a good pressure too, because it makes you work hard,†said Jones, who was the head coach at Class 2A Refugio the previous four years. “We’re looking forward to it and excited about being there.†Port Neches-Groves returns three starters on offense and seven on defense from a 5-5 team a year ago. Jones said the Indians were impressive in their two scrimmages. “They’re solid,†he said. “You go back and research their history, they’ve been a solid program and respectful for a long time. They’re hungry to get back where they were. They’ve been out of the playoffs for the last two years. I know they’re going to come out there ready to play.†Especially since the Indians would like nothing more than to take down the defending state champs at Reliant. “That’s something we really stress to our kids,†Jones said. “You get to the top, and you’re trying to stay there. It’s always hard to stay there. The target is on our back every week. Everybody on the schedule is going to bring their ‘A’ game. “For anybody on our schedule to take a shot at us and be successful, it’s going to make their year and get them off to a great start.†The Coogs return seven starters on offense and three on defense. That means Jones and his staff will have a lot of work getting the Coogs ready for a tough nondistrict schedule and a possible threat from Friendswood in District 23-4A. But Jones is up for the challenge, and he can’t wait to get started Friday evening. “I know the kids are excited, and we’re ready to see what we can do,†he said. “I’ve talked to the kids about how we can’t live off last year’s group and their success. We can take that and try to repeat those things, but our own identity is going to have to be established. “This is a different group from 2006. We’ve got a lot question marks, but I know some kids will step in there,†Jones said. “It’s their time to shine. They’ll try to keep that tradition that was established here long before we got there.â€
  7. He also led the league in interceptions last year. This isn't the 1st time there has been a great player suspended and most have learned a lesson and straightened out. Doing the right thing is never easy. That's why I'm proud to call myself a Indian. Someone will step up and Tezeno will be a better person because of this lesson. So lets go get'em Indians. It's time for the ambush.
  8. It's highschool football , anything can happen. But i wouldn't bet on it.
  9. It depends on which back can handle the pitch or catch a pass or block. Which includes blocking the right person. maybe one is a straight ahead runner and one is a slasher. But I think everyone has heard enough on this subject. Both will play and both are good backs. Let the coaches do the coaching, Remember theres no I in team.
