Perry coming back is going to be awesome! We are definitly going to need his speed in this game. New's just got worst for Ozen ;D Perry is a 3 year starting DB that has been out the past 3-4 games.
Oh! Perry's back that changes everything! Forget what I said about Ozen be able to win because BH's best cover "GUY" is back. (Posted with much sarcasm). ;) -
Quote from Mr. Blitz-
Haven't beaten anyone credible? How about your district's "undefeated" champion? Dayton and Crosby BOTH have the offensive personnel that Ozen has and then some. Much like Vidor and PNG will find out this weekend, you will too my friend. 19-4A will be asserting some dominance, especially in Eagle Stadium at 7:30 pm Friday night. I can promise you that the Panthers haven't played anyone that will hit them in the mouth like BH is about to do. Better snap those chinstraps up tight.
I hear you, good to have pride in your team. Bottom line is everyone is supportive of their team and believes that their district is tougher. By Saturday night we will know whose claim is valid. -
I'm taking Vidor in this one! Let's go Pirates!!!! ;D

This is a very interesting match up. I think Barber's Hill is highly favored and most likely going to win this game. I'll even venture to say they are a much better team than Ozen. But, I put Barber's Hill on high upset alert, not only because they just lost to a team that has a very similar back field as Ozen, but because Ozen can be world beaters one game, then be well below average the next. I think this is going to be a fine game to watch. If Ozen get momentum early, I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset.
I disagree.....Ozen struggled early in the year but finished the season strong. They have alot of weapons at there disposal and it seems like Green is just rounding into form after recovering from the injury early in the season.I have only saw film on Crosby but,IMO. Green and Jones have a slight edge over the two twins from Crosby and the gave The Hill fits.I think Ozen can very easily win this game if they play like they did at the end of the year.JMO

LOL .... You Ozen fans/players haven't seen a brick wall, like your about to see Friday night (not to mention the "multi-option" offense).... Crosby just got lucky because we already knew we were District Champs ..... the BH defense will be back to true form Friday night ....
Oh yeah ... why is it only "O" fans picking "O" ????
MaxPreps Score Predictions: Ozen 17, BH 31
HS Sports Predictions: Ozen 18, BH 34
Dave Campbell's Texas Football Predicted Winner: BH
Dude you cant be serious? these predictions are largely based on records, and Ozen is 5-5 overall, so you can expect that more people will pick BH. Not considering that BH plays in a watered down district and has not beaten anyone credible. Just as you indicated that Ozen hasn't seen a "brick wall" like BH,(which is arguable), I guarantee BH has not had to defend a team with the personnel that Ozen has. I expect to see a good game, and hope that BH approaches the game depending on Dave Campbell and your predictions to save them. -
I haven't seen Barber's Hill play this year, but expect them to play sound football. With that being said it will be important for Ozen to minimize their mistakes to get the win. I've seen Ozen play several times and know that they are explosive enough to beat just about anybody when they bring their A game. It appears that Ozen is peeking at the right time and are poised to surprise a lot of people, starting with BH. Let's go Panthers!!!!!!
-
Let's go Pirates!!! Much love and support from this panther fan. BTW- enjoyed the hospitality and love you guys showed us at your game Friday Night! Y'all are a real class act, go and keep making 20-4a proud!
-
Overall I think it;s way too early to write the Jags off. Their running game and o-Line play is definitely not where it needs to be, but they are still able to beat just about anybody in the district. I don't think that Mitchell's numbers in the first game suggests that he will struggle this year either. If they can improve the O-Line and defensive backfield and they will be tough to beat.
-
I think it will be a good game, but I'm taking Ozen in this one.
-
Way to go Panthers!
-
I just want to give a congrats to Ex - East Chambers player Tremain Thomas (sp) on a great game in the sugar bowl tonight. Seemed like every big defensive play that was made by the Razorbacks to climb back into the game was made by Thomas. Though the game was won by Ohio State, this young man played his heart out and really stood out in a game filled with star players. Keep up the good work, you are representing S.E. Texas well.
-
I don't see myself mssing this one. Go Bruins!
-
I really pulling for the Jags in this one, as I support all teams from this area in the Playoffs. IMO, If Central opens their offense up (like the second of the Huntsville game), they could beat just about anybody. We are behind you Jags! keep fighting.
-
I've seen both teams play and I'll take Central 28-24. If the game was being played in PNG I would say otherwise (for several reasons :) But Since it's at Babe, I think the jags will take it.
-
Just being honest, I dont' see PNG making it to the State Championship. They are on a roll now but they are definitely beatable.

My prediction of the PNG game plan vs Ozen.
RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, SCORE!!!!
After a first half of that, pull Harmon to protect him, then
RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, SCORE!!!!!
No need to pass, simplify to the extreme....RUN THE BALL - Ozen has proven they can't stop the run!
Harmon is the best athlete i've seen since Patches O'Hoolihan. Nobody can stop the run, especially Ozen.
Patches HUH ? LOL !!!!

Yea that guy was truly special! LOL! -

Ozen defense? Hey at least Nederland isn't last in both categories anymore.
Classic! way to find the silver lining! LOL! -
I'm taking Central in this one.

Why would we even want one, unless you can figure out to get Golden Triangle residents to watch a professional team play. The high schools will never be able to afford a dome, especially with the amount that BISD pays it's super, no money is left over for that.
You've diagnosed the problem! The reason this would never happen is because of the salary of one southeast Texas superintendant. Brilliant don't know why we didn't think of that sooner. LOL!
I don't think it would ever happen because it would take buy in and collaboration from several area districts and that would never happen. It's rare that one school district can come to agreement on their own issues, even more unlikely that they can all come to a place of agreement on a single issue that affects many.
-
Congrats Panthers! way to start the year right! Let's get ready to shock the world, Saturday (well maybe not the world...let's shock the triangle)
-
This is info. from a normally reliable source
Joubert will get it. AD and Principal agreed on Saveat but the school board was not in agreement. The hope was that Gilmore would win the school board election and vote for Saveat. The election is over and Gilmore did not win, therefore the vote is the same and Saveat is not their choice. "Rumor has it" that the job is or has been offerred to Joubert.

Two different running styles between Charles and Mosely. Mosely was more the Emmit Smith type, Charles was more the Barry Sanders, changing direction and making people miss.
Didn't Mosely put about 230 up on Ozen one game?
Yes he did, that was the shootout at Cardinal Stadium. Ozen won the game but Mosely had a field day as a soph. I never wanted to see the wrap around draw again after that night. Johnathan Smith also had a big game for Ozen that night too. .
-
im dissappointed in you how in the world you dont have johnathan smith on this list he has be top 5#1 Charles (Memoria)l was a man among boys
#2 Michael (WB) was a beast
#3 Mosely (Nederland) was a heck of a football player with deceptive speed and vision
#4 Kerry Franks (WO-S) was very fast
#5 Hathaway (Ozen) Big back that had breakaway speed
#6 Hussey (Lumberton) ...dont let his size fool you. Followed blocks as well as anyone
#7 Feacher (Central) had great balance, spinning sometimes 4 times a run never losing stride
#8 Grogan (Nederland) was a load that refused to be tackled
#9 Lowe (WB) was a 1000 yardd rusher on a non talented team.
#10 Greenwood (Ozen) ran low to the ground to pound out 1000 yards alongside Hathaway.
I was thinking the same thing, that kid was a monster!

If ozen plays a good game bh by 7 if ozen has turnovers and penalties bh by 21. I keep hearing how good ozen is and it took luck for them to even make the playoffs. Correct me if im wrong but wasnt ozen 5-5
You are correct Ozen's record is 5-5, and yes they needed Vidor to beat Livingston to get in the playoffs. However, they are a much better team than their record suggests. Now that it is playoff time it's 0-0, and I would take my 5-5 team who lost to teams that are all better than the teams in your district, just as I will take a 1 loss S.E.C. team over an undefeated team in a weaker conference. Just saying.... May the best teams win! Go Panthers, Indians, Bulldogs, and Pirates. 20-4A rules!!!
